Review: High Sierra Const was hired during escrow to put a new roof on our house mid June and they were paid thru escrow prior to starting roof. They did not start roof for two weeks after receiving payment and took two weeks to demo roof and left half of the torn off roof and nails spread around my house along with damaging the front and rear decks by throwing the roofing material off onto them breaking two rail caps and both decks in need of new paint. They began roofing and each day I would inspect and notified them of incorrectly installing the roof not meeting the manufacturers install recommendations. They tore off several areas of the roof because of using the wrong size nails at the eaves which splinter the wood and left nails showing and eaves in need of being repainted once patched. I notified them that the roofing paper wasn't being installed correctly with the require overlap of a splice and weaving of the paper in the valleys. they said they would fix it and the next day I would inspect and find that they did not fix the paper but roofed over it in hopes that I would not find out. I determined that I could not trust High Sierra to install my roof in accordenence with the manufactures specs called out on the packages so I asked for them to stop all work on the roof and I called the building dept for a courteous inspection and they agreed that the roof was not installed correctly and advised against letting them finish. I asked High Sierra to return all my money except what was paid for the roofing material. They have refused. My roof has been exposed for two months now and I am forced to pay another roofer to complete my roof.Desired Settlement: I had to purchase more material to replace what I have to tear off that they installed incorrectly. I want them to pay for the extra material demo and roofing cost of the new roofer.
