I am rejecting this response because:This response does not address my complaint whatsoeverThe issue that led to the complaint had nothing to do with whether or not the business accepts reservations on New Years Eve (even though I am certain that they did)The complaint was in regard to the fact that multiple employees of the business coordinated a scam that night in order to extort money from honest, paying customersAfter the fact (months later), the exact same employee admitted to doing so, and even went so far as to boast that he "made" $that night tax-freeHe specifically remembered me in particular for objecting to the claim that the fare cost double simply because it was a holidayNot only were these dishonest employees robbing the public at large, they were also robbing all government entities which collect a portion of typical taxi faresI will proceed with pursuing legal action against High Sierra Taxi with the Nevada County courts, as well as the Truckee Police Department

Regarding the situation on 12-31-14. We do not generally take reservations on New Years Eve. In the rare situation that we would, all prices are agreed upon before transport.  We at...

Review: On the evening of 12/31/2014, I was part of a group of people who used the services of High Sierra Taxi. A member of our group of roughly 10 called earlier in the day to schedule a reservation for taxi service from Donner Lake to Olympic Valley (Squaw Valley ski area). High Sierra Taxi quoted the fare as being $60 per vehicle for a one way trip. Based on the size of our group, we required two vehicles and thus were quoted for $120. Upon arrival for pickup at our location, both taxi drivers informed us that the fare price would be double that night. The reason they provided for this being that it was a holiday (New Years). When I proceeded to question the drivers as to how this was possible, they told us that we had no choice in the matter and that they would not drive us to our destination regardless of whether or not we had a reservation and had been quoted over the phone for $60. Feeling as though we had no other option, our group reluctantly agreed to take the ride anyway. Upon arrival at our destination, the meter in the taxi showed $60 as the amount owed. Once again, I questioned the drivers as to how they had the authority to alter the rate for their service, for the simple fact that it was a holiday, when their rates are determined by the city/county within which they operate. Both of the drivers insisted quite adamantly that it was their right to do so, and that we owed $120 for each of the two taxis we had taken to our destination. Appalled by this, I refused to pay any more than what the meter in the taxi read. Other members of my group, not being such discerning consumers, took them on their word and reluctantly payed "double" the $60 (per taxi) fare we had been quoted earlier in the day. The same thing took place on our return to Donner Lake early the next morning. The next time I used High Sierra Taxi, I questioned the driver about the events of that night. He subsequently admitted (and boasted) to me that it was a coordinated scam between all drivers that night.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded in full for the amount of money ($180) that was stolen/scammed from myself and others of my group on the night of 12/31/2014 and early morning of 1/1/2015. I intend to pursue this matter to the fullest extent of the law. I would also like to see disciplinary action taken against those that participated in this coordinated scam that was intended to prey on those who were inebriated or simply would not know any better.
