High Trek Cycles

Review: On 5/13/14 I gave High Trek Cycles owner, "[redacted]" a check for $3185.92 for a Prodeco Outlaw gray 1000 watt electric bicycle with custom seat, an extra 700 watt battery,and tax. He said he would order it right away from the manufacturer. Then the excuses began, the bike we wanted was not available for a few weeks, ok, we waited. Then I talked to Prodeco person "[redacted]" who then said after a few calls, etc., that he did have a white one available for immediate shipment. I said fine, we will take the white one. So I asked [redacted] if the payment had been sent from[redacted], and he said that [redacted] assured him he would be sending it that day and they would ship it the next day. So the next day I talked to the secretary and asked to talk to[redacted], and she went and then came back and said that the bicycle had been shipped the day before. We waited, [redacted] said that as soon as he received the bike that it would just take a few hours to put it together. We waited, and again, no bike. At this point, it was looking like we were not getting the bike, and[redacted] said he was mad at Prodeco, and that he would give us a better, more valuable bike that was in LA, and he could have it in 5 days. We said ok, since our options were getting fewer. ON 7/14, my husband and son went to the shop and talked to[redacted], who said the bike would be there in 5 days. I talked to [redacted] on 7/23, and he said the bike would be here Friday 7/25 or no later than today, 7/28. I left a message with [redacted] today, and since it is pretty clear we are not getting a bike at all, I requested a refund. I have had no response, but all the lies and delays warrant a complaint at this point. Apparently he cashed our check, and never paid for a bike. I thought it was unusual when his bank called me to see if I had written the check, I should have known at that point that there might be a problem. He is rarely at the business, it is hard to get in touch with him, there is only a phone that he never answers, and no email address that I can find, only a website that is not updatedDesired Settlement: I would like a refund at this point; he has had our money for 10 weeks, and only has given us excuses, different products and outright deception.

I filed a complaint on 7/28/2014, against High Trek Cycles in Citrus Heights, CA. Since that filing, the issue has been resolved
