Highgate Builders, Inc Reviews (2)

[redacted] ( [redacted]10:25 AM (3 minutes ago)tomeAfter reviewing the complaint Weinle Auto Sales East was notified 45 days after Mrs. [redacted] purchased the vehicle that they were experiencing problems with the automobile. Weinle Auto Sales East supplies a 3 month or a 5000...

mile powertrain warranty with the vehicle. Although, the repair was not covered under this warranty and Mrs. [redacted] was offered an extended warranty at the time of purchase ( which was declined). Had Weinle Auto Sales East been notified within the 3 days of  Mrs, [redacted] claim we would have done whatever we could to help. In good faith Mrs. [redacted] was mailed a check in the amount of $ [redacted] from Weinle Auto Sales East. We hope that this will help with the repairs and close this complaint. Sincerely, Weinle Auto Sales East

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Yes, Weinle Auto Sales East did send me a check for $[redacted], however, that was after I had also filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office and provided documents showing all the repairs needed and that the car was actually considered to be unsafe!! So really, it wasn't out of "good faith" or the kindness of their hearts. That vehicle needed over $[redacted] worth of repairs needed just to have it running again; over half of those expenses I paid for out of pocket. To add to those expenses, the power steering is now going out. Which is odd seeing as how [redacted] had told be me had replaced that. Do I need to send documents or receipts for that as well? I'd send the whole part back to Weinle's, but I would be afraid they would try to pass it off as a new part and put it in another one of their vehicles to sell.  And it may have been 45 days before the complaint from Revdex.com was received, but I add spoke with [redacted] before this over the telephone. I also didn't call within 3 days after buying the vehicle because it was overheating still and the mechanic Weinle's sent me to had said it was due to "air pockets", so we kept trying to bleed the system (the mechanic's solution to the problem). I honestly don't believe anything would have been done had I called because when I talked to [redacted] the time I did over the phone, he told me he wouldn't do anything because I bought the vehicle "as is".  This car lot also mentioned nothing about future sales and measures they would take to prevent something like this from happening again. I am not rich. I chose to go a used car lot because I was in need of a vehicle and was unable to afford a brand new one. People like me rely on car lots like Weinle Auto Sales East to provide them with dependable vehicles; car lots should be held to a higher set of standards than they are. The garage that had made the repairs on this vehicle had stated that it should not have been allowed to leave the car lot in the shape it was in.  I have 3 children I drive around all the time! This tells me that either Weinle has a horrible mechanic looking over their vehicles before sales or they do not look at the vehicles at all before it has a price tag stuck on it.  To beat it all, car lots get away with stuff like this because people can't afford the lawyers it would take to fight for such a change. I could have bought me such a nice, brand new, SAFE vehicle with the money I will have to sink into this car (which I later found out was overpriced when I had to go to the bank and take a loan against it to pay for the repairs; the car didn't book for near as much as what it was sold to me).  I declined the extended warranty because I couldn't afford it! Plus, I was told the vehicle was in great condition by both [redacted] and the mechanic. So no, $[redacted] will not close this complaint and it BARELY has helped with repairs...barely! I feel like such a fool. Regards,
[redacted]
