Highland Assets Reviews (1)

Five years ago, Ms*** applied to, was accepted, and registered for classes (quarter credit hours) at Forrest College She enrolled into the Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Emphasis and began her classes Winter term, January 3,
To cover her educational expenses, Ms*** applied for, and received, Federal Student Aid in the form of a PELL grant, SEOG grant, ACG grant and Direct Student Loans At each step in this process, Ms*** signed documents acknowledging her registration, tuition, book charges, financial aid award letter, tuition planning worksheets, and other disclosures required of a student attending a post-secondary institution One of these disclosures, concerning the College transfer policy, is very clear and is published in the College Catalog in print as well as on the College web-site: TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITSForrest College prides itself on providing personalized instruction, attention, and services to students through a program of instruction that emphasizes a strong general studies component, occupational skills, and the building of self-esteem through participation in study groups, oral presentations, and other meansThe programs of study offered by the College are intended to prepare individuals for careers and/or occupations and are not necessarily intended for transfer of creditForrest College does not guarantee, imply, or infer transferability of credit to any other college, and it must not be assumed that any courses or programs described can be transferred to another institutionAny decision on the comparability, appropriateness, and applicability of credits and whether they should be accepted is the decision of the receiving institution.Ms*** passed one class and failed the remaining four (4) of the classes attempted No institution would accept failed courses The one class she passed was in computer technology and most institutions do not accept computer related courses that were attempted more than 2, or at the most, three years in the past.Ms*** was withdrawn from the College March 25, Ms*** received a small refund off of her account shortly after she withdrew, by check, dated April 5, Ms*** cashed the check and it cleared the College bank shortly thereafter. Ms*** does not owe Forrest CollegeShe is in repayment to the US Department of Education on a Federal Direct Loan The College employs an agency, *** College Services, to assist loan borrowers with any problems they may have with repaying their student loans Records indicate that Ms*** was making regular monthly payments on her loan but is now over days delinquent The College, through *** College Services, would be happy to assist Ms*** in reviewing the repayment options available to her now that were not available years ago
