Highland Grove Apartments

Review: I applied for an apartment back in October 2013. I was told I was approved and given my new address and move in date. My lease was ending at my old apartment complex on 12/31/2013. I had spoken to several representatives in the business office since October regarding my apartment, makings sure it was going to be ready on time. These apartments were brand new. I have had at least 10 conversations with the leasing office since October. I went to Highland Grove Apartments on 12/30/2013 to check on the status of things. When I arrived the female at the front desk log onto the computer to check on my new apartment. All of a sudden she puts her hands over her face and says "Oh my god". She then goes on to tell me It may not be ready. Then she offers from a Garden Style apartment, which was more than I could afford. She told me to have a seat while she tried to work somethings out. I waited for about 20 minutes, when the young lady said, I will give you a call when I find out more. I left the leasing office. Later on in the day I received a phone call stating, I am not approved for housing. Due to my previous rental back ground I was late a couple of times on my rent. I didnt understand how I was approved in October and now before the day I am to move in I am no longer approved. My rental history was within qualification when I applied for housing. They never checked it in October. The checked it sometime in late December. I began to panic. I am a single mother, with a toddler. I had no where to go. I had to be out of my apartment the next day. Corporate was contacted, the GM was on vacation. No one could help me. Now I am currently packing up my old apartment and my child with no clue as to where I will be living. The leasing office admitted there mistake but have done NOTHING to fix it. I still have the business card where my new address was written down.Desired Settlement: I would like the housing that I was approved for.
