Credible, honest, and proven integrity
I was searching for a Shiloh German Shepherd puppy when I came across Highland Hills Shilohs, run and operated by Gail Hauk. I submitted an application, and Gail and I later spoke on the phone at length about her dogs and my current situation. I was in the process of adopting one of her wonderful puppies when an unexpected issue arose on my end, and I ultimately had to step back.
Before making that decision, I had read both positive and negative reviews. I chose to call Gail directly so we could talk openly. From that conversation, it was clear to me that reviews - especially negative ones - often reflect only one side of a situation.
What I can say with confidence is that Gail genuinely cared about me and my circumstances. Her exact words were, “I just want you to be comfortable and happy—no worries.” That response meant a great deal to me and speaks volumes about her character. To me, that is the mark of a breeder who truly cares about both her dogs and the people she places them with. If this were “just about the money,” our experience would have ended very differently.
I can personally vouch for Gail’s honesty and integrity. If you are looking for a quality dog from a breeder with over 40 years of experience, I encourage you to reach out to Gail directly and consider reviews with the understanding that they often represent only one perspective. My experience with her was entirely positive.

Big, beautiful, intelligent, mellow, loving dogs
I've bought two Shiloh shepherds from Gail over a 2 year period. One I picked up in person and one I had flown across the country with a flight nanny. They dogs are everything she told me they would be and then some. I had their DNA tested and they have zero issues. I'd buy another Shiloh from Highland Hills Shilohs in a heartbeat.

Harassed,Lied to, and threatened with witchcraft by Gail
We were promised a puppy from a litter on Nov 8th, when we first spoke to Gail on Oct 28th. We sent a deposit and a handmade gift.

By Nov 2nd we received a message from Gail saying she didn’t know the dog was pregnant. How ? The dog is due in 6 days.

We were offered a puppy now. Okay... again. How ?

I said I would take it if there was no Nov 8th litter.

She said she already sold it to someone else. She texted late at night and I responded the next morning.

Repeatedly moving forward she dodged my questions and refused to follow through on a Nov 8th litter as promised.

When telling her I was canceling my check (she had not yet cashed), I was threatened repeatedly with the idea of witchcraft including using my handmade pint glass as an idol for her witches to cast spells on me.

I cancelled my check and I found MANY Facebook reviews later claiming her dogs have died of congenital diseases within 6 months to a year.

She is not a trustworthy breeder.

This woman sends pictures/videos of her dogs stating she’s the most sought out Shiloh breeder in all US. Well thank goodness I hadn’t sent my deposit! She will keep you hanging and won’t answer your texts or phone calls!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Who knows what kind of a puppy she would send us now---too hot to put on a plane---and this is going on since January---I would not trust this woman--I still want my money back--she did nothing for my $I think the whole operation is a scam--all of a sudden she has puppies ??? I don't thinks so !
