I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  They have offered  partial refund and to amend the advertising issue.  Please advise the business to process the refund and continue to monitor the advertising prices.

Review: Made reservations 6 months out. They double rates one week out. we show up and they 'lost' reservations.

We called Highland 6 months in advance to make our reservations for our 7/18/13 arrival date and was all set up. Two weeks out we called to confirm, and they confirmed. One week out they called to inform us they made a mistake on our rates and they practically doubled. With one week to go, we accepted knowing finding a room at Lake Tahoe on a quasi holiday (Celebrity Golf Tournament). Showed up on 7/18 and [redacted]? or [redacted]? at the front desk said they 'lost' the reservation!! The person [redacted] or [redacted]? was the same person we talked to on the phone the previous two times. I personally believe they sold our room because they were able to get the someone to pay more than what they told us one week out.Desired Settlement: We would like the over $500 we were going to pay for the room and $500 for the hassle we had to go through to go to another hotel much farther away for a total of $1000. This may make Highland Inn employees or owners realize the magnitude of their bad practices.

Review: Hotel overcharged for 3 day stay, will not return multiple calls (9 calls across 2 weeks) requesting refund. Asking for refund.

3/31/13 - Booked a 3 night stay at The Highland Inn via booking.com for 7/29, 7/30, and 7/31.

7/16/13 - Mastercard was charged $371.30 ($327+taxes)

7/21/13 - Reservation for three nights was cancelled via booking.com

7/21/13 - Reservation made directly with Highland Inn for two night stay (7/30, 7/31), quoted $109/night.

7/22/13 - Highland Inn refunded $109 (one night) from booking.com reservation. Remaining refund of $262.70 unpaid.

7/29/13 - Reservation made directly with Highland Inn for one additional night stay on 7/29. Quoted $89/night.

7/30/13 - Highland Inn charged $335.70 to Mastercard (3 nights @ $109/nt). Refund of $109 required. Charged for 3 nights when only stayed for two (7/30, 7/31) at $109/nt.

7/31/13 - Highland Inn charged $89.90 to Mastercard as appropriate for stay on 7/29

Highland Inn effectively charged 6 nights for a 3 night stay (7 plus one night refund) and is holding $371.70 ($262.70 + $109) of my money.Desired Settlement: A refund of $371.70.

And, just a call back to make this right! I've called 9 times across two weeks (August 19-August 30) and despite assurances from staff that I'll hear back from management "today", management has not returned any calls or has attempted to rectify the situation.
