[redacted] , MDW109th ST, STE 350Overland Park, KS 66211Phone: ###-###-#### Fax: ###-###-####5/6/2016Revdex.com of Greater Kansas CityWard Parkway, STE 401Kansas City, MO 64114To Whom It May Concern:In response to complaint dated 4/27/16, ID number [redacted] Dr [redacted] ’s office is extremely bothered by this complaintPlease note there are several discrepancies in the complaintOur office sends out statements for three months if at that time we have not received correspondence from the patient then we start attempting to reach patients by phoneIn this instance the patients contact information had changed, however we were not notified, Eventually we found updated contact information, which was not provided by the patient’s father and sent him a statement When the patient’s father called in to inquire about the statement we were able to obtain updated contact information at that time including telephone number The patients father did speak with [redacted] when he called into the office to inquire about the amount past due, [redacted] went above and beyond taking time to pull original EOB’s from three years ago to assist the patient’s father in understanding the amount due In the meantime [redacted] had attempted to contact the patient on several occasions he returned one of her voicemail messages with a time constraint that was not reasonable [redacted] asked [redacted] to please contact the patient’s father so he would not have to wait longer for a response from our office [redacted] contacted the Patient’s father and informed him [redacted] had asked her to call and get the situation taken care of The Patient’s father did feel he should not have to pay the full amount due since it was such an old balance and they had not received statements [redacted] informed him there is not going to be any collections fee or any interest added to the balance so we could settle on the original amount due of $ The patient’s father was not happy but agreed to make four payments of $to get the balance taken care of [redacted] sent him an email stating the agreement and what was expected from the patient’s father to get this matter taken care of.Our office followed procedures we have in place to collect a patient balance If the patient had contacted our office with updated information the statements would have been sent to the patient’s father, they would have known about their balance and any and all confusion could have been avoided We have decided at this time not to charge any interest or send this patient to collections therefore saving the patient money.In regards to the "Desired Settlement" requested by patient If he would like to complete a Financial Assistance Application we would be more than happy to consider him for a financial hardship adjustmentBecause we are a Medicare provider we are under contract to charge all patients at the same rate unless there is qualifying need.Sincerely, [redacted] J [redacted] , MDAllergy, Asthma & Immunology
