This job is now complete as it was agreed upon that Highmark would put a completely different floor in then what was originally selected by the homeowner free of cost on the labor side. The Homeowner chose a more expensive floor and they paid the difference. He is having another contractor apply the base, casing, and T- mold. I talked with the homeowner and he is accepting the work that was done Dave *** Partner ###-###-#### Cell | ###-###-####Office *** *** *** *** |Savage, MN

On Wednesday October 25th there was a meeting at the complainants home. The parties involved in this meeting were *** *** ( Homeowner ), Dave *** ( Highmark Restorations ), and Doug *** ( American Family ). My response to the Customer’s Statement of the Problem: In regards to
the homeowner not having a sink or counter top for three monthsThe homeowner wanted to do this themselves. Highmark Restorations doesn’t or hasn’t had anything to do with this part of the project other than the removal of the existing countertopIn regards to the flooring issues. The homeowner didn’t want to have a quarter round added to his floor base. An option to do a piece base was given but he doesn’t want to do that as well. He was informed per the manufacturer warranty this needed to be done. This is a floating floor and there needs to be a gap/space between the wall and the productThe base that the homeowner had without quarter round wouldn’t have covered itThe issue isn’t with the installation of the flooring It’s the manufacturer warranty and how it needs to be installed. The homeowner was given the option to choose a new floor that would be installed for him at no charge. He does have to pay the difference in the price of the material which is being installed on November 2nd and 3rd. In regards to having been paid for everything. We received the deductible on June 12th in the amount of $500. On July 18th a partial invoice in the amount of $was given to the homeowner. The final invoice on July 28th in the amount of $was given to the homeowner as the work was completed. Highmark did receive a payment in the amount of $on August 22nd. These are the payments that have been received to dateIf there any further questions please let me know Dave *** Partner ###-###-#### Cell | ###-###-####Office *** *** *** *** |Savage, MN

My issue is not resolved yet.1.The reason we have no countertops or sink is: we have been waiting for a high Mark to fix or replace the floor for two monthsKitchen remodels are usually done from the bottom up, therefor our countertops cannot be picked/installed until our flooring is in place Flooring issue and baseboard issues have to do with poor incorrect installationManufacturer recommends no more than a 1/4" gap around the entire floor otherwise warrantees are void Our floor that was installed has no gap to 1/2" gap around perimeter that's why the base board don't work with the floor because of the poor cuts There was no need for quarter roundIf quarter round was being used why did the base have to be removed in this case the floor is done up to the base and quarter round to finishthis isn't what we wanted and this was communicated from the start There was no need for a three-piece based system either, who has this three-piece based system in their house ?A bill dated 7/28/however that Bill had items on there that were not performed or not doneWe contacted hi Mark to have them items removed from our bill waited two weeks with no response, we deducted them items and sent a dollar check on 8/16/17High Mark has done poor quality work I will not allow them to do anymore work in my house once this floor issue is resolvedWith all the issues I have had, I am not resolving/accepting any response until this floor issue is fixed, complete and I'm statisfied with there workmanship I also want my bill fixed with items that were not performed or done removed so we can pay them in full and have this project behind us.To support my complaint: I have pictures, manufacture instructions, other professional floor installers notes of what's wrong with this floor and need to be fixed

My issue is not resolved yet.1.The reason we have no countertops or sink is: we have been waiting for a high Mark to fix or replace the floor for two months. Kitchen remodels are usually done from the bottom up, therefor our countertops cannot be picked/installed until our flooring is in place.2.  Flooring issue and baseboard issues have  to do with poor incorrect installation. Manufacturer recommends no more than a 1/4" gap around the entire floor otherwise warrantees are void . Our floor that was installed has no gap to 1/2" gap around perimeter.  that's why the base board don't work with the floor because of the poor cuts.  There was no need for quarter round. If quarter round was being used why did the base have to be removed in this case the floor is done up to the base and quarter round to finish. this isn't what we wanted and this was communicated from the start .  There was no need for a three-piece based system either, who has this three-piece based system in their house ?3. A bill dated 7/28/17 however that Bill had items on there that were not performed or not done. We contacted hi Mark to have them items removed from our bill waited two weeks with no response, we deducted them items and sent a 5000 dollar check on 8/16/17High Mark has done poor quality work.  I will not allow them to do anymore work in my house once this floor issue is resolved. With all the issues I have had, I am not resolving/accepting any response until this floor issue is fixed, complete and I'm statisfied with there workmanship.  I also want my bill fixed with items that were not performed or done removed so we can pay them in full and have this project behind us.To support my complaint: I have pictures,  manufacture instructions, other professional floor installers notes of what's wrong with this floor and need to be fixed
