Highview Inspections Reviews (2)

In response to the complaint regarding water damage in the basement
The cracks in the wall and the leak in the basement were disclosed by the seller of the property prior to the inspectionAt the time of the inspection the basement was dry, any cracks observed were common expansion
cracks found on most year old concrete wallsIn the inspection report, it was noted in two separate locations that the basement was dry at the time of the inspection, but assume it is wet until it proves dryPlease also note that the leak occurred over ten months after the inspection
In summation both the seller and my inspection noted leak issues a possibility Home is years old and the leak occurred months after the inspection The winter of was especially cold with frost levels deeper than in the past decades, causing many foundation and water problems in the Sauk county area

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The information given by Highview Inspections is downright false. The crack and leak that was disclosed by the sellers are in two different locations-neither of which are where this crack and this leak occurred. I do not expect an inspector to be able to predict whether a crack will leak or not, but I do expect a competent inspector to see a crack and report it has such. There are 3 cracks in our foundation - none of which did this inspector report on - and this is after we specifically asked him to look for cracks. In the state of Wisconsin the inspector is liable for errors and omissions for up to 2 years following an inspection, so the fact that the leak happened 10 month after the inspection (the first spring in the home) has no bearing on this situation.
The facts are, [redacted] missed the cracks in the foundation (leaking or not) and as such is liable for repair of said crack. This would be an issue whether the crack had leaked or not, because the problem is he missed the crack and therefore did not protect us as potential buyers and we were not given the chance to back out of the sale of this home or amend out purchase offer.
Regards,
[redacted]
