Review: Very unprofessional .... They were changing injectors on my semi truck and told me that they found metal scraps in engine when I asked to see metal parts they stated they do not have them I think they were just trying to get more money ,,, after they changed injectors I saw them leaving with my truck the shop property ...Taking my truck without my approval is unacceptable for me...How do I know they are not going to rob the bank, or what would happened if they hit somebody with my truck... They were suppose to ask me to come with them or at least ask my permission to drive the truck...when they came back they said that truck was ready to go and told me the price ... First I asked the owner to explain the charges to me and then I told him that they were not suppose to just take my semi that hey were suppose to ask my permission and the owner got mad. Because he got mad he would not take my debit card to pay the bill ... he told me he wants cash only ($2 800 cash) He knew that I do not have a car that my truck broken down while transporting the load but he just would not accept debit card. I know that they can accept cards because they charged me $800 for towing using the debit card. The lady @ the shop was really nice and helpful and she was about to run the card when he said he wont accept card from me... I think it is my right to ask for explanation of the charges and since this was my truck I am responsible for it people can not just take somebody's property to take a ride...Very unprofessional The service and how they charge for their service should be considered highway robbery I would never recommend this shop to anybodyDesired Settlement: This place should be shot down

Response:

This letter is in response to [redacted] complaint. His complaint is difficult to follow but I will do my best.

On 11/14/13 at 2:38 am [redacted] wife, [redacted] called and said she needed her tractor and trailer towed from I-95 NB at the 166 MM to Highway Garage, Inc.

She said the truck appeared to need injectors and asked if Highway Garage, Inc could do the repairs. She was advised we could.

That morning after 8 am [redacted] came in the office to fill out paperwork and sign the repair order authorizing Highway Garage, Inc to complete the needed repairs

on his truck. Later in the day [redacted] was advised the parts would not be in until the 15th and we took him to a hotel for the night.

The next afternoon when the repairs were completed [redacted] was advised of the metal debris that resulted from the broken injector spring as it may have caused or may cause in the future internal engine

damage as it was a result of [redacted] continuing to drive the truck after the injector spring had broken. He never asked to see the metal debris and I'm not sure how that would

relate to more money. Then the mechanic went to test drive the truck and [redacted] advised us we had not asked his permission to perform the road test. We then showed [redacted]

that he had signed the statement on the repair order that says, "I hereby authorize the above repair work to be done along with the necessary materials. You and your employees may operate the above

vehicle for purposes of testing, inspection or delivery at my risk...." He was still angry about the mechanic driving his truck.

At the completion of the job, [redacted] was provided and itemized bill. He asked several questions, all of which were answered. He then began asking all the same questions over and over again. At that point he was

advised he would need to pay his bill in cash as his behavior had gotten out of hand.

On the matter of [redacted] desired settlement, that Highway Garage, Inc be shot down, we are not sure how to respond to that request.

Thank you,

Highway Garage, Inc.

Review: We are [redacted] . We had a unit breakdown along interstate 95 in Fredericksburg VA . The unit had a broken fan belt , The local Sheriffs dept rolled on the scene and call this towing service ( Highway Garage )They dispatced a large wrecker out which was 450.00 just for the call out .They towed the unit to me which is probably 35 miles and the total bill was 1237.50 . There may have been 4 hours of work total . We use many towing compainies , some under contract some not . The average rate around is about 175.00 per hour . At this rate and even 200.00 per hour your looking at 800.00 max . I beleive this is extremly excessive and very unfair to the public . I am not trying to get out of paying the bill , just would like to be treated fairly . When I called to inquire about I was told in other words that we ([redacted] ) dont use them and it more or less is what it is . I have also reached out to the Sheriffs department to look intoDesired Settlement: Discounted price , what is fair
