Review: Vehicle was impounded by Highway Towing. Vehicle was damaged by Highway Towing. Highway Towing refuses to acknowledge that they are responsible for the damages my vehicle incurred while being towed. Front fender is damaged and unattached in certain areas of front hood.Desired Settlement: I would like Highway towing to acknowledge that their driver damaged my vehicle during towing process.

Review: 1. I was charged a towing fee of $40.50 and a labor fee of $42.65. I believe that these two fees are the same fee charged twice.

2. My car was picked up for towing about 9:30 pm on December 3, 2014 and picked up from the site at 11:30 am on December 4, 2014 (about 14 hours later). Yet I was charged two (2) days storage fee ($24.95 per day for two days = $49.90).

3. I was charged tax twice. One tax was $8.25 and the other tax was 15% City tax for $7.50.Desired Settlement: 1. I want this information recorded and stored by the Revdex.com.

2. I want the fees that this company charges changed.

a) Only charge either a towing or labor, not both!

b) Only charge tax once, not twice!

c) Charge a storage fee from the time that the car is received at the site until the car is picked up by the customer. The current way that the storage fee is computed is unfair!

3. Return the fee of $42.65, $24.95, and $8.25 because these fees were charged twice!

Review: Highway Towing Service towed my 1976 Cadillac Deville to their facility @ [redacted] on 5.28.2015 for blocking a driveway. I picked up the car on 6.03.2015 after paying fees of $290.40. As I walked out to the tow yard I noticed a man lifting the back of my car w/ what appeared to be a forklift. He swung the vehicle around & I got in. It started & I proceeded to drive to the gate of the tow yard when it shut off. A tow truck driver came over & helped me by trying to jump start the car in case the battery had died. After approx. 20 mins., he towed the car from the driveway of 548 Trumbull St. & he put it directly across the street. At no point did I leave the facility w/ the car. I left the car & the keys to the car w/ the clerk after advising her of the situation & I returned on 06.04.2015 (taking a 1/2 day off of work) in order to find out what was wrong with the car. After several attempts to get it started I called a mechanic that has regularly serviced the car. He came over from S.I. I went & bought gasoline after trying to jump the battery several times at which time the mechanic looked under the car & noticed that the gas tank was badly damaged 9of which we took pictures). He advised me that that was the problem & he suggested that the car had to have been moved by a forklift of some sort at which time I recalled to him my seeing the man swinging the car around with a forklift. I immediately went back into Highway Service Towing & advised the clerk that I needed to speak to the owner. She took a note as [redacted] wasn't there & I had the car towed to N.Y. Tire Company & Service Ctr. who also confirmed that the car had been moved w/ something that caused the gas tank and pieces of the back bumper to be damaged. Due to the damage, not only does the gas tank have to be replaced but as the car is 40 yrs. old, a collision shop said that the whole car will have to be painted after the pieces are replaced on the bumper or it will not match.Desired Settlement: As the owner [redacted] has refused to even speak to me on the phone or in person, I want Highway Service Towing to pay for what they damaged. The gas tank costs $589.00 plus the labor of NY Tire Company & Service Center. Also, the pieces that were broken on the bumper will cost $225.00 (estimated) plus the labor to replace and the car will have to be painted ($1,000.00 estimated). I have also lost time at work that needs to be compensated (one week after all is completed- $2,500.00). If [redacted] does not reimburse me for charges associated with his organization damaging my car then I have no other recourse but to seek remedy in Civil Court and respectfully request a verdict in my favor also seeking treble damages and attorney's fees.
