First off, I am a boat broker and I do business with many marine companies. I buy boats and sell them for a living. When I went into this company I did not disclose who I was or what my profession was. I brought an inflatable into Suncoast for repair. They charged me $85-$90 to look at it and give me an estimate. If they did the repairs, this money would go toward the cost of repairs. Good enough, I understood. I called and talk to Brad and asked him what the estimate was for repairing the boat. He was short with me and very rude as he explained what needed to be done, cutting me off if I even asked a question, as if I was bothering him, he proceeded to tell me the boat was a piece of [redacted], garbage. I could not believe what I was hearing. He continued to yelled at me and told me it must have sat in the water for years, which was a total exaggeration. Mind you, there were barnacles between the tubes and hull, that was one reason I brought it in but the boat was in the water a few months. I never raised my voice with this man and he continued to carry on like a mad man telling me what a piece of garbage boat I had. It is a 2004 Zodiac with a 50 hp engine that is new, new vinyl seats, and more, and this guy is yelling at me telling me what a piece of [redacted] my boat is. I'm the customer! Can you imagine? I had enough and finally said to him that he was being extremely rude and to stop yelling. He yelled back to come pick up my boat. I sat on the other end of the phone and my jaw dropped. I said to myself "what in the world is wrong with this guy?" I'll tell you what, this guy is ready to pop and I wouldn't want to be there when he does!! When I get there to pick it up there was a big gash/scatches on the brand new lower unit on the engine. I didn't not take before and after pictures so there was no way to prove this was their fault however, it was not there before. I Highly recommend going somewhere else. I took my boat to a inflatable company in south St Petersburg and they put new tubes on the boat, barnacles where easily removed from the hull, and the boat is like brand new. In addition to that, I was treated so well by this other company, they were total professionals. Suncoast needs to learn to be more professional because they just lost out on $5K of business from me and any future referrals.
