Hello This complaint was filed on May This client has been requesting that the city require the tile contractor to open the drain area in order to view the weep holesOn May we received a email from [redacted] addressed to both my husband and this client explaining to her how the weep holes function and stating he did not feel it was necessary to view the weep holesI will enclose a copy of the emailLater in June he changed his mind and requested we open the drain in order to view the weep holesAt the same tile [redacted] changed his mind regarding finishing the tile work from his original response that you have on file, So we all agreed to go ahead and expose the weep holes and finish the tile work This has now been completedMs [redacted] stated that her desired settlement was see below “Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation) “Repair the weep holes and finish the grout and the tile work.” This has now been done, You also have on the file the signed agreement to pay us when the tile is complete, my husband has no idea what her complaint is now except that she has changed her mind regarding paying us to complete the tile work I will include in our letter all of copies we have regarding the permits and requests from the city Thank you [redacted]

Hello                                     ... 5/28/2017 When we began the kitchen and bath remodel for Ms [redacted] the work had been started by another contractor without permits. The demo was almost complete in both rooms. The problems began with her changing her mind on the bathroom shower valve three times after they were already installed which meant two had to be removed and changing her mind on the shower framing which meant the framing had to be redone , and rejecting 4 cabinet doors. We pulled a online permit for the bathroom called for inspection and was told they needed to see the hot mop liner and the lath. The building inspector came out said the work was “top notch” signed off and said they did not need to come back until final inspection.   In the meantime we were accused of causing her roof to leak during a rain storm and plugging the toilet We explained to her that we did not do any work on the roof so the roof leak could not have anything to do with us. Upon clearing the toilet drain bleach wipes were found which we do not use, my husband placed them in a container so she could see them, she then stated he found the bleach wipes in her trash in order to make it appear we had found them in the toilet line   We started the framing on the soffit in the kitchen and told Ms [redacted] she needed to pay for the kitchen permit which she declined to do so she was told we could not move forward without the permit. At about this time she changed her mind on the shower and wanted glass block installed which was not in the job scope, our tile contractor [redacted] told her he was under contract to start another job in January and if she wanted the glass block he would need to pull off her job and come back in February to complete her tile work   At this time [redacted] informed us Ms [redacted] had told him she felt we had forced to the sign the contact and made several negative comments about both my husband, myself and the cabinet builder, So because she had not been willing to choose cabinets, obtain a kitchen permit and the situation at this point was hostile we were canceling that part of our contract with her but would finish the tile work. At that point we came over to her home with a lien release and wrote a detailed payment schedule that outlined the amount now due for the work completed up to that point and what the remaining charges would be when we returned in February. She signed the agreement and paid the amount due.   We were scheduled to come back in February when Ms [redacted] stated she was being overcharged and would not pay for [redacted] when he returned, she did not state why or how much. She also filed a complaint with the CSLB and threatened to sue us, we have offered a compromise but she refused it She also contacted the building Department and complained to them regarding how her job had been inspected, because of this additional inspections were made costing us money and additional work. At this point she is demanding we do additional work to her shower drain but the city has signed off on all of the work we were able to complete. The shower drain is installed according to code and the weep holes were checked. San Diego City Senior Building Inspector Mr. [redacted] can be contacted regarding this. [redacted]   h[redacted]@sandiego.gov   In addition to all of this she emails both us and our tile contractor [redacted] multiple times in a day and night demanding we redo work already approved by the city. [redacted] is not willing to do any additional work for her and we agree, in addition [redacted] had to block her emails because they were causing him stress we will include his written response. Please call if you would like additional information 619 697-0040 Sincerely      [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Hi[redacted] and [redacted]  Donot tell the truthIf someone makes a mistake they should correct it ,and learn  from it rather than try to play the blame gameand be truthful.A.   [redacted] states the weep holes are per code-- The weep holes are NOT   per code-please review all plumming codes, tile institute codes and the calif shower receptor code. The weep holes must be open but the drain installed at my house by Mr. [redacted]   has  morter inside  the weep holes .Mr. [redacted] is  the contractorand thinks that  it  is okay   to have morter in the weep holes. That is against the Code .He doesnot know the Code. . [redacted] does not know anything   about codes  .Ask   [redacted]  what the codes are and were to find them .She will have no clue. I am the homeowner and I have to tell her what the codes are. When I tell her  the codes she should say---thank you and correct her mistake ,   but instead she accuses me of harassement.HOW SAD  -PLEASE MAKE THE PUBLIC AWAREB.The  San Diego supervisor to city inspector -[redacted] stated that [redacted] who was theinspector NEVER  saw the weep holes.[redacted]  [redacted] and [redacted]   state that the weep holes were inspected . This is another Lie. They have the email from [redacted] the city inspector that states theweep holes were not inspectedSO WHY DOES SHE LIE AND SAY IT WAS INPECTED. PLEASE MAKE THE PUBLIC AWAREThis is not goodC.[redacted] and [redacted] both state that my weep holes have morter inside-They  state  it   is okay to have morter in the weep holes .However the Californis shower receptor code, tile institute of North America, plumming codes all state  ---the weep holes  MUST be openD  .Mr. [redacted] spoke to one tile expert and they told him the weep holes must be correctedE Another tile experts  stated the following in an email -Please read-Aeration around weep holes of two piece shower drains is, in my opinion, critical to the long term success of a shower assembly.  The inspector’s statement that the weep holes drained when a cup of water was poured on the shower drain area (while the top part of the drain was plugged), does not take into consideration the following1.       Particulate build up in small openings over time due to calcium deposits.  Witness constriction of shower head nozzles2.       Free alkalines in cement based products i.e. dry pack mortar beds which will condense in restricted areas (dry pack packed tightly around weep holes) that will restrict passage of water.F. The tile institute expert have asked me to relay the message and have Mr. [redacted] and [redacted] call themto emphasize how critical the weep holes are to the functioning of the shower   system-they have refusedG.On   6/6/17   and 6/917  the Superviser for the city inspectors said Mr. [redacted] must open the shower drain in order for him to look at the weep holes   for inspection and it must be corrected. Would you like the email? The inspectors are waiting for Mr. [redacted] to arrange for thatH. The weep holes have never been opened and looked at -please read the response from [redacted] She Does not tell the truth. She said the weep holes  were checked -NOT TRUE-She has the email from the inspector . He said weep holes not inspected .I. [redacted] called me yesterday and said he wants to finish the shower and does not understand why [redacted] said he was not coming back to complete the shower. He is planning on completeing the workeven if he has to do it for free.J. Regarding the accounting This couple has a bait and switch. She would email me with one price and than when the time came to write the check  and the work was completed  the price   would be  much higher than agreed upon. When I asked for answers they accused me of harassment.K.  Regarding the permits Mr. [redacted] is a contractor   but he does not get permits. I had to demand permits.   I went to city  permit office they told me the permit I had was for a combination kitchen and bath.I told them [redacted] and his wfe wanted me to pay for another  kitchen permit  I had to pay the kitchen permit  a second time. The city told me NOT NECESSARY  I  already had the kitchen and bath together in one permit. There was no need for anyone to go down town and no need to pay another permit fee.Why did Mr. [redacted] say I refused the kitchen permit BEWARE -they have a scam and they  lie.I already had the kitchen permit. They wanted to charge me foranother permit.L. Regarding of the permit schedule Mr. [redacted] was not honest with the city. He was supposed to get theplumming and the drains inspected before the lath and he did not. He was supposed to call the framing and the insulation inspected and he did not. He went to the lath without going through the steps .  When I asked them why? They accused me of creating a hostile environmentM.  There are major flaws with the accounting that I will discuss with the Revdex.com later and post themN.  On 6/28/17  I received a letter from his attorney that I failed to get the permits. Mr. [redacted] had the permits but failed to call the city inspectors for proper inspection. WAS he covering up something? Please call me for additional information

1. regarding the accounting .They owe me money for payment  and credits that were never deposited into my accounts2. They owe me money for unagreed upon charges3. They owe me money  for poor work on the shower that was discovered by a new plummer4. Since Mr. [redacted] abandoned the work , I called a new plummer to look at the workthe new plummer  said   he  will not touch the shower unless the shower head is corrected. The way it is installed   now the water will shoottowards the left rather than straightSomeone needs to correct this work. This is within the warranty period. Poor work need to be corrected . is that right? He  needs to  correct it ,or pay someone to correct5. Please ask [redacted] why the $900  credit for the countertop does not show up in her accoutingI am still waiting for the $9006. please have her explain why she said I refused the kitchen permit ,when I already had a kitchen permitWHY DO THEY NOT ADMIT TO ANY MISTAKES  7. Please  have [redacted]  include to the Revdex.com a copy of the accounting .I will also email you   my versions  and the public  can see exactly what happened with the accounting and what was said and what was done.8. The desired settlement was a step by step process-there are so many errors that they need to be corrected one by one .We have to work on the accounting  and  credits that were promised and never actually credited9. [redacted] changed his mind because  [redacted] and [redacted]   advised him not to finish the workThey were using him as a bait for me to settle with them. If I donot settle they will not finish the grout. This is so wrong.I believe I still have the email from [redacted]10. [redacted] asked  me to sign a paper that I will not go after him for the accounting and I will not goafter him for the Breech of contract. I refused and so he told [redacted] not to return to my house11.Why do  they say I made a resolution when I told [redacted]  there will be no resolution and that is why he refused to open the weep holes. Please respond to Revdex.com with documents. that will be great
