Hill Country Dry Cleaner Reviews (3)

It is unproductive and, frankly, futile to continue debating an issue where someone is as intransigent as Mr*** and where he has resorted to inaccuracies and insults to support his position No matter what he states, Mr*** is not in a position to know our daily receipts As the office manager and the person who actually prepares the deposits, I can vouch for my earlier statement that Mr*** called "...blatantly and misleading." If needed, I can back up my statement with unambiguous, third-party data Mr *** may wish to change his position on this issue if he wishes to avoid embarrassing himself. We have offered Mr*** the value of the coat, $(value based on widely accepted industry standards, found here: http://www.***.com/***pdf ), as recompense for this unfortunate situation That offer still stands, despite the negative way this situation has evolved.Regards,*** ***Office ManagerHill Country Dry Clean Super Center

First let me state that Mr*** is correct - we should never have attempted to clean his coat Waxed cotton should never be laundered or dry cleaned - it should only be spot cleaned and then the spot immediately re-waxed After this incident, we have implemented a policy with all of
our stores that we do not accept waxed cotton for cleaning Waxed cotton is an uncommon garment finish in the US and our employees had never seen it - they thought the wax was what we were supposed to be removing from the garment. After working for several hours myself, restoring the waxed finish to the coat with proofing wax received from a UK supplier - an effort that I counted as successful, but Mr*** was having none of - Mr*** still thought the coat damaged beyond repair I offered him $in compensation for the coat - the coat was approximately $when it was new At the time we accepted it for cleaning, the coat was a year old and in good condition with the exception of surface dirt and very minor wear and tearAccording to a commonly accepted dry cleaning industry formula that calculates age, condition, etc., $was more than we needed to offer Mr***; but we were responsible for what happened and we wanted to try to make up for our mistake without completely breaking our bank (we had already spent money on the wax and the time to repair the damage)We're a small company and $is a whole day's receipts.Mr*** refused the $and said he would settle for nothing less than 100% restitution Mr*** claims the coat to be "ruined" However, the coat is, and has remained, in excellent condition with the exception of the waxed finish being removedThe wax finish is now restored and the cotton and leather on the coat look nearly identical to a manufacturer's photograph of a new coat The leather is once again supple and evenly colored, and the cotton is once again "weathered looking" and water repellentThis is apparently not good enough for Mr***. It remains obvious that there is no way we can make Mr*** happy We have attempted to restore the coat's finish and, when that wasn't good enough for him, we offered him 80% of its purchase price I'm sorry Mr*** feels I was rude, but I don't believe I was I was upset but always professional Please let us know what we can do to resolve this

I am contacting you about the complaint that I filed on February 4, 2015, (#***). I did receive a response from the business (Hill Country Dry Cleaner), but have yet to have the issue resolved. I read the response carefully and do not agree with the reason for the damage; the attempt to reconcile, nor the manner in which this was handled. I realize that there is an industry standard by which the company settles disputes and damages, however I will reiterate the very same statement in my original complaint (I first telephoned the company to inquire about their ability to clean the garmentThe call was transferred to a manager of the storeI was specific with my concernsThe manager stated that I should send the garment to the store and if there was a concern, I would be contactedI specifically asked that if there was any question regarding the cleaner's ability to professionally clean the garment without damage, to please send it back and not attempt a cleaning.) The procedures that were promised me were ignored and blatant negligence was displayed on behalf of the company. This is clearly the reason that I am to be compensated for the full amount of the coat. This garment was worn a handful of times during the winter that the garment was purchased. I realize that technically one year had passed, however being that the garment was a seasonal garment, it was worn a handful of times and then hung in a closet until it was delivered to the cleaners. The attempt that *** *** (manager) made to reestablish the integrity of the garment was, to say the least, a junior and non professional attempt at pacifying the customer. I adamantly asked *** ***, the company’s representative to not use any products on the garment that were not approved by the original manufacturer. My request was again denied and ignored. The garment became further damaged. I have forwarded the images of the garment provided by the company to the original manufacturer for their review. They indicated to me that the garment was completely ruined and unable to be restored to its original character. Again, I have requested to speak with the company owner and have yet to receive a return call. *** *** continues to state that they are a small company with no more than $in daily receipts. Through the research that we have completed about Hill Country Dry Cleaners, this is blatantly and misleading information. *** *** has the original receipt from the purchase of the garment and again request that I be compensated the entire amount of the purchaseAgain, I clearly asked that nothing be done to the garment if they did not feel that they could perform professional services. I would have been happy to retrieve the garment not cleaned, and would have, if my request and their promise was honored. Regards, ***
