I've been a member of the Baton Rouge Postal Credit Union for several yearsI am not a Postal employee but my sister is, this is how I was able to join the credit unionThe down town branch is beyond unprofessional and unethicalI've always had issues with this credit union and will be hunting for another one to join, and will close my account with them, my life will be so much easierMs*** is the branch managershe is slow to return customers callsThis last incident did it for meI have a relative who began receiving SSIThe relative just turned and had not set up an account with any bankI deposit his SSI check into my account, later to find out he had to be on my account in order for the credit union to accept this deposit1st compliant-the teller should have informed me of this before I deposit the check2nd complaint -the teller lied and told me she tried to call me immediately to come and get the SSI check-this is a blatant lieI was never contacted at all-I have the phone records to prove it, phone records don't lieThen she said my number was disconnected, another lieSeveral months ago my phone number was changed and the credit union was made aware of the change, however, they kept the new and old number-doesn't make sense why they would keep my old number after providing them with my new number3rd compliant-they mailed the SSI to me, if they had actually called, I would have chosen to pick it up versus mailing we all know, mail is always getting lostI request a phone call from Ms.***, instead I had to speak to her assistant- again not professional at allIf the head is unprofessional, of course it will trigger down to other team membersTo top it off the teller who took the check for deposit, stamped on the bank of the check "for deposit only-postal credit union"Due to this stamp on the back of the check, NO ONE WILL CASH ITI was told by Ms*** assistant there was nothing they could doThey suggested I take it to the relative's bank and deposit itFirst of all, he has no bank, secondly, NO ONE WILL TOUCH THE CHECK, WITH THE CREDIT UNION STAMP ON ITThen the assistant suggested I take the check back to the Social Security office to have them re-issue the checkREALLY-UNBELIEVABLE! At the moment I'm attempting to locate Ms***'s supervisor, I was told she had noneWe will see!This entire issue could have been avoided if the teller had paid attention to the check before she tried to deposit itIt is my personal experience that the majority the workers are untrained and not professionalHere I am trying to find a way to deal with a problem they createdNo wonder, the Feds are cutting jobs, the one's they have are incompetentI guess my relative will be evicted due to not having money to pay his rent and other billsThanks a lot Downtown Postal Credit Union!
