Hillcrest Animal Hospital Reviews (1)

I had my 3 year old dog placed in their kennel from June 19-23, 2014 while my husband and I were out of town. Upon picking my pet up on Monday, June 23rd, I paid my bill and took him home. When arriving home, I noticed that my pet acted as if he was itchy - thought it was the shampoo they used before I picked him up - so I began rubbing and scratching him. As I was bending down the scratch him, I noticed an odor and touched under his chin and neck area where I found matting and hair shedding. I then thought that maybe they didn't rinse the shampoo away well. Once I cleaned the area, I noticed that it was raw, missing hair, swollen and smelly. I immediately contacted the animal clinic, explained to them what I discovered when bringing my pet home, requested to speak to someone in charge, they stated that they would allow me to speak with the Office Manager. After being on hold for a few minutes, they came back to the phone and asked me to bring my dog back up to the clinic. I did so within less than 30 minutes of being back home with him. Upon my arrival, I introduced myself and told them that the office manager asked me to come in. Once they looked at my dog in the examination room, even the tech and doctor were shocked at how this had occurred, but still no contact with office manager. I was then told that I would have to pay for the medicine to heal the injury, but they waived the $43 doctor's visit. I asked why would I have to pay for something that I was not responsible for. There was no clear answer, I paid and left. I then called back up the same day to speak to the Office Manager, no success, left my name and number, and still have not heard anything from anybody. So, not only did I pay the $98.66 for boarding, but I also paid $66.70 for medicine that I should not have been required to do so since my dog was injured while in their care. I feel that the doctor's visit should have been free. Two days later, and I still have not heard from anyone from the clinic regarding my pet's injury.Product_Or_Service: BoardingOrder_Number: N/AAccount_Number: N/ADesired SettlementI feel that because my dog was injured while under their care that I should not be responsible for paying for any medicines associated with the injury. I want the $66.70 back for the injection and antibiotics. I also feel that some of my boarding fee should be refunded because my pet was not provided the care that I paid for. I was never contacted about my pet being injured at any time during his stay with them. This was the 2nd time I allowed him to board there - no issues the 1st time.
