Review: I contracted Hilldrup to do an out of state move. Since my move was from a storage unit they needed to use a “shuttle” service which means they bring an smaller truck then transfer it to a larger one at a different location. First they were HOURS late then what they were scheduled. They checked the freezer before they loaded it into the shuttle, when I asked if I needed to be with them to load the items into the larger truck and they informed me that I could not since it was at their loading area. I did not get any status update about my move until they day they came out for the delivery, I was informed by the driver that they had left the freezer back at the loading zone. When I called hilldrup they informed me the freezer needed to be cleaned and they will deliver separately. I did not get any further contact from them for another 10 days, at that time I informed them I was going to be town of town at the end of the month and could either accept delivery before or after with no response from them. Of course I got a call from the driver during my business trip advising me that they were an hour away from my house. I contacted hilldrup, the rep told me that they will redirect the freezer to storage and redeliver it. I was contacted on Wednesday stating that they can schedule the delivery on Monday which I agreed to. On Friday ay 4pm telling me that I would have to pay $575 for the delivery and that was with a 50% discount, even though I paid my binding contract of $3,200 for around 3,900 pounds which the freezer was included. They gave breakdown of $62 dollars for storage days, and the rest was warehousing and delivery, I went as far as offering to pay for storage days even though I should not have to. The final resolution they gave me was either I pay $300 for them to deliver it or $213 and I go pick it up. I would like my personal property delivered as I have already paid them the binding fee.Desired Settlement: My property delivered to me

We did load the freezer from the residence and unfortunately because of the internal condition of the freezer it had to be left at our facility until we could have it professionally cleaned. The local crew should have discussed this with the customer at the time of loading but it was not discovered until it was back at our office. No charges should have been charged to our customer because of this situation as we were taking full ownership of the situation. There was an oversight within our organization and as soon as we discovered our customer was presented an invoice for storage charges, we apologized and advised him he did not owe any money. Since then, the freezer was delivered and no money was collected from our customer.

Review: [redacted] and his group from www.hilldrup.com finally completed my move from Germany to my home in Arizona. It was a total nightmare. It was like pulling teeth trying to get information from him and getting answers. Had so many problems, miscues, and false communications. At the end I had to pay another $850 on top of my $11K because of the kickback at the port of LA. He threaten me with more payments which I had to apply numerous documents at the last minute so I would not have to pay customs on my custom free car. He supplied no documents at all when I dropped my car and goods off at the warehouse in Germany and never saw my stuff loaded in the container has promised. When I turned in my car Plates in Germany, they asked me for my car shipping documents that I should have gotten and I had to say I did not receive any. I just happened to have a phone number with me and the lady called and was able to receive a fax from [redacted] at the last minute again. The thing is, which makes this funny, I could have shipped all of my goods in the mail for around 2 or 3 hundred dollars and my car thru the dealership for 300 dollars with No hassle and less cost for me. But since the company was paying for most I though it would be hassle free shipping in a container with your company. NEVER AGAIN. Will tell my story to all Expats here in Germany and with the Revdex.com. My friend is also shipping his goods and car with your company and [redacted] and is having even more problems(so far he is out an extra $3K).. He has yet to receive his goods, and having the same communication problems and getting hit with extra taxes, fees, etc...at all 3 ports leaving and getting to the US. We had to turn in all expenses a month ago and told [redacted] that. All of a sudden we are getting hit with RANDOM searches on our goods at every port we enter....then after holding my goods for a week waiting for an exam, then they come back saying, OH you have extend your stay at the port so we are going to charge you more money” . Sounds like a kickback to me and everybody I know that have shipped goods back did not have these problems and cost.

A horrible experience. (shipped goods twice before in the past, never had any of these problems and extra costs).

Has the home office of United contacted you about my move yet? I talked to United in the US last week and they were suppose to send over the information to you. I have been writing them and left word on the hilldrup website for somebody to contact me. I have a small bedroom of stuff to ship over to the US plus a car, so a easy move...Just need somebody to come in and box me up and ship my car back to Arizona at the end of August. Can you help?

Calling or sending numerous emails for any mishap took forever for anybody to respond. And why is anybody that does business with them getting hit with RANDOM inspections and fees???? When I tried to complain and explain my situation, no answer, no reply, no I am sorry...just pay up or you will be hit with more money. Is that any way to do business?
