Brent Hillman with Hillman Appraisal Services is indeed an expert at the highest level. I am very please with the prompt and thorough report he delivered. He took the time to take high quality photos and explain the pros and cons involved with the property.

I was referred to Hillman Appraisals by a few people when I started asking around and they came highly recommended. After using them I can see why, they were very personable and professional and the appraisal they gave our home was done with a lot of integrity.

The last appraisal I ordered several years ago just came in at the exact amount I had requested for a loan, which I was not happy about. If the appraisal had come in at something lower then I could have negotiated a lower price on the home and if it had come in higher I would have had more immediate equity, but it came back down to the penny of my offer which always bothered me.

However, Hillman Appraisal did an excellent job and gave a very objective price for our home which overlooked “personal or number biases” that most companies let distort the appraisal. They sincerely desired to figure out what a property is worth, not just whether it has enough equity to qualify for a loan. They also looked beyond the comps as their analysis considered the current and future markets, not just the past (comps). Lol though the appraisal was not as high as I would hope it was extremely fair and honest.

They warned me that they were running very far behind as they were swamped with business, however even with that warning they got it done before our deadline. I think there is good reason they stay so busy!
