we had a little boat and trailer that was taken in on trade. we were told it was a 14'. we advertised it at 1399.00 as a blow out as we were nearing the end of boating season. this customer was offering 800 for the boat at first then negotiated a final price of 1000.00 plus tax. * he looked the...
boat and trailer over*he anxiously negotiated what he felt the boat was worth" whatever the size" down to what he was willing to pay for a boat and bought it. because it was the end of season we agreed to take what he was offering even though it was less than we had in it. mainly because it was the end of season and we did not want to sit on it. * he purchased the boat and trailer on sept. 10 and we loaned him a tag to take it home.* on sept. 15 th he brought the tag back and talked about how happy he was with it and how nice it ran. *on sept 18th. he text and said he put a 9.9 motor on it and it makes the boat set too low in the water and he was not happy.* then he comes up with the idea that because it was advertised as a misprint as being a 14' boat that he wanted his money back. * on sept. 20 it is obvious how he was happy with his deal untill he saw how low it sits in the water with a larger motor on it and was looking for a way out. * as our moto" business with integrity" we told him we could not offer him his money back because we took a loss to sell it as we did not want it in inventory at the end of season. however we told him on sept 20 we would consign it for him and would not charge him the consignment fee. so it would cost him nothing. he refused this offer and said he would see us in court. we in good faith with still consign for him. but he can not expect his money back on a deal of this nature.
