This customer brought her Dyson vacuum in for a service in January and we completed a full service on it, verified it was running properly and then she picked it up and had no issuesAfter months, she brought her vacuum back in on 6/4/and told us something wasn't working rightWe
immediately put her vacuum up on our bench and our technician found a hypodermic needle that the customer had vacuumed up that had broken inside the machineWe removed the needle and believed that that was the culprit and gave her machine back, free of chargeShe came back in the next day and said it still wasn't running properlyWe then told her that we would pull the vacuum apart again and try to figure out what might be going on with itWe gave her a vacuum from our shop that she could use in the mean time until we got hers back up and runningIt took out technician some time to pull the vacuum apart and ultimately had to disassemble nearly the entire thing to discover that a specialty piece had broken internally, due to a foreign object being vacuumed upWe then ordered the part, the part came in a little over a week laterWe installed it and verified the machine was then working and told the customer that her vacuum had been repaired and it was ready for pick upAll of this was done free of charge
When she came to pick up, because of all the issues she had had with her machine, and the nature of issues with the Dyson machines in general, I decided to just show her a vacuum that was better built and had better warranties that might better suit her needs and would serve her better in the long runIt is my job to help my customers find the best fit for their needs, sometimes that means simply fixing their machine and sometimes that means upgrading them to another machine that is better for themWe went above and beyond for this customer and to see that she then made a complaint is disheartening and frustratingShe would not have gotten the level of service from another store when it was a mistake on her part that caused the machine to malfunction
