Hillside Auto Body Reviews (12)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] I have no scam on anything or anyone, [redacted] continues to tell lie after lieI have a written estimate from Hillside auto body using GM part numbers and all GM replacement partsI also have a estimate from the insurance adjuster with all GM replacement parts to be usedFurthermore when I went to hill side I was very specific about using all new GM partsAfter I made this complaint found out while getting my backup camera fixed that Hillside put Asian aftermarket parts on my truck, the right rear tail light, and rear bumper, as they do not fit at all, that's insurance fraudAt no time was I ever told that because they have a sign up that states they will pay up to $of your deductible that they will cut corners and use all aftermarket parts on my truckAlso they were given money by the insurance adjuster to replace all emblems with new on my tailgate, also after my initial complaint all they emblem fell off my tailgate, they tried to super glue all the old emblems, I have detailed pictures of all said itemsThe back up camera was unplugged by hillside to get to the the rear bumper and brackets and other stuff that would be done to fix the truck, I had it repaired which was a lot of labor, they plugged it wrong and caused damage to the wiringI never swore to anyone at hillside or threatened anyone at anytime, I raised my voice to [redacted] *** after he continued to lie to me and denies that all my complaints were either that way when I brought it in, the factory did that or they never did thatThe tree sap is another lie, it was huge globs of glue that they did and there was a matching glue glob on the drivers side window from the lousy works that did the workI waxed my truck and cleaned it before I took it in and know every mark on the truckHillside also got money for new bed rail covers and ripped off the drivers side and caused a huge to inch scratch that I also have detailed pictures ofThe Zsticker was just laziness on the part of Hillside, I got it within minutes at my GMC dealer, I had told [redacted] that I got it on ebay, but that was a prior truck, I bought this truck brand new from Grienfield GMC and I had them replace the stickers with a different color, he lied to me about that too and said that they haven't made those decals in yearsI have had it with all the lies of [redacted] ***, I have scammed no one and the person that claims that is normally the person who lies and is tiring to scam everyone himself I also emailed [redacted] on different times and of them as soon as I got home that night with my truck with all the bad work and damage done to my truckFurthermore I told Nate at the time when the insurance adjuster was present that all the parts will be GM replacement and he said yes, including all new emblems, and the insurance adjuster said that's they way I wrote it up and that's what you will getThis now is clear and blatant 100% insurance fraud [redacted] tells nothing but lies and denies anything and everythingI was never given a proper [redacted] that detailed what they did and part numbers used, that's the oldest scam in the book, [redacted] does that knowing that most customers don't care and wouldn't want a detailed final ***Hillside is the scam artist here, look at the Revdex.com complaints against themI will not stand to be called a scammer, lied to over and over again and told that I threatened anyone or swore continuously [redacted] cant handle it when a customer gets upset and tells him that he lied and did crap work, I was told by [redacted] and I quote " pay your Fkin [redacted] and get the Fk out and never come back" Im sorry to used that language but that exactly to the work verbatim what he told me the day I picked up my truck after I pointed out all the bad work they did and after the countless lies he told meThis cant be any clearer, I have all detailed pictures of the damage and shotty work, I have the Asain aftermarket tail light, bumper and all the emblems that they super glued as well as a detailed estimate written from Hillside using all GM replacement parts as well as GM part numbersI also have the ***"s for fixing my backup camera which is a factory item, the [redacted] for having all the overspray buffed and clay bared off my truck and most of all the State Farm insurance adjusters testimony and written estimate that all parts are to be new GM parts usedI also have all the extra's that Hillside asked for after the fact from the insurance adjuster and State Farm, that's why I never got a detailed [redacted] from HillsideIf [redacted] want to continue to lie and deny and slander me I will get my attorney involved, this is a cut and dry case of poor work and clear insurance fraud

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below This is my reply to Hillsides reply.I am so tired of being lied to by [redacted] ***, not once the day I picked up my truck did he offer anything to fix the problems that I saw thereHe told me that the tailgate they never touched, lie number 1, I then told him you repaired the right lower corner and cleared the whole tailgate, his repose was, that's how it came from the factory with orange peel and all the fisheyes from painting while it was dusty or dirtyThe globs I saw on the corner panel he said were there when the truck came in, lie number 2, I waxed that truck before I took it in just for this reason and if any over spray got on it then it might come off easierI bought this truck brand new, its never been outside, always in a garage and how is globs of glue or adhesive caulk similar to tree sapI called [redacted] out on his lies and he got mad at me and I was "told pay my [redacted] and get the fk out and never come back " not once did he say anything about fixing any problems or giving me a car to drive[redacted] has no clue and continues to lie and denyHe hasn't owned Hillside since 1978, has no clue what was written on my estimates or what was said in front of the State farm estimatorI chose Hillside from the I went to because the younger guy who gave my the original estimate was very knowledgeable and he was the only of the body shops that said you need to replace the whole right rear panel with a new one and do not bondo the old one, it wont lastI did business with Hillside in and they did good work then, had I know [redacted] was the owner and the shotty bad work and poor way he treats customers I would of never gone thereWhen I set up a time to have the state farm adjuster meet me at hillside I told the guy at hillside who gave me the estimate that I do not want any aftermarket parts on this truck and want the bed side replaced, he said that a truck this new isn't written up with aftermarket parts and that they will be all GM partsWhen the State farm estimator was there in front of the Hillside employee, forgive me but I think his name was Seth, I told the estimator the same as I told Hillside, I want no aftermarket parts at all because they don't fit rightHe said I am writing it up with all GM parts plus I am giving Hillside the money to put all new GM badges on the tailgate less the eemblem which I was fine withI have the Hillside employee, the State farm adjuster and myself as witnesses to this plus I have the estimate from Hillside with all GM part numbers to be replaced as well as State farms estimate with new emblems and a few other things that Hillside missed.Hillside has a big sign out front that says we will pay up to $of your insurance deductible, and that caught my attention, who doesn't want to save money? I was not once told by anyone or on any sign or papers that if you choose this option that Hillside has the right to use any parts they want to and put aftermarket parts on after I said more then once that I want all GM parts, the estimates show that as wellThis is misrepresentation, I sent a complaint into the state of Wisconsin, Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, in the reply back to me code (2) (D) was violated, misrepresentationIn the reply [redacted] also admits to using aftermarket parts after the insurance company gave him the money for newI not once verbally approved this ever and will have the testimony if needed of the State Farm insurance adjuster that was there that dayAgain [redacted] tells nothing but lies. Also Hillside is in violation of state code (4) (C) and (4) (A) Fell free to look this up on file , or talk with [redacted] file number consumer protection Investigator , [redacted] [redacted] @wisconsin.govI emailed Hillside several times , when I got home, the next day and the following week with problems I foundLet me be very clear, I do not want Hillside to touch my truck and would never put it in there hands ever againThey didn't offer anything until they got the States complaint, then I was emailed oh , were sorry for anything and will try to take care of everything, another [redacted] lieAlso I was given a loaner car when I had my truck in the body shop originaly, expired plates and registration, dirty filthy car as well, how can you put a customer in a car with expired plates? Again it shows how poor of a place Hillside is and how [redacted] doesn't care. When I took my truck in to be repaired at Hillside, my backup camera worked just fine as well as the reverse sensors, I am very anal with all my vehicles and I assure you that everything worked % in my truck the day I dropped it off including the broken rear tail light, why would I lie? What would it gain me? I told [redacted] that to remove the tailgate to repair it and pain/clear it you have to unplug the camera, when I took it in to find out why it didn't work they showed me you have to lower the spare tire complexly, go in front of the tire where the plugs are and unplug both plugsThe incom***nt employees at Hillside unplugged both plugs and plugged them into each other after they put the tailgate back on causing it to not workThere is labor involved to have someone fix it which I paid, hours labor to fix it or find out what they did, $an hour which is cheap [redacted] doesn't even know how to get the tailgate off, the accident never caused or touched the rear camera, Hillside was incom***nt and didn't know how to plug it back in, another [redacted] lie.I don't know in my original complaint if I mentioned the G M emblems that were supposed to be replaced new, Hillside decided to reuse the old emblems and attempt to super glue them on my truck, they fell off most in my hands days later, [redacted] ***'s response, we would never do thatI have pictures of everything, the old emblems which they cut the back off to try to glue them, again incom***nt work, at least if you are going to cut corners and defraud the customer try sided tapeI also have a huge clump of hardened super glue that wont come off of my tailgate, I cant get it off without damaging it and cant put a new one onIt needs to be stripped down and fixed.Hillside was given extra money to replace the rail cap on the drivers side bed because the come in pairs and it wouldn't match the other sideThey ripped the diver side old rail cap off and scratched the bed about a to inch deep gauge in the paintI missed it when I picked up my truck, and emailed [redacted] about it, his response we never touched itThey also installed the drivers side rail cap crooked and half on and half off, again it needs to be replaced to fix properlyYet again total incom***nce and poor work by Hillside.I want the money to fix the items that Hillside auto body did damage to my truckI will under no circumstances let Hillside touch my tuck and I hope you can understand whyThey misrepresent, lie to the customer, tell the customer to get out and never come back and most of all do very very very poor work.Aftermarket parts do not fit, look bad and are of bad qualityA auto body that states they have a lifetime warranty that uses below quality and poor fit and finish aftermarket parts clearly is in it to save them money and take the customers and or insurance company hard earned moneyJust so you know [redacted] ***, I pay my insurance every months and am entitled to get the parts I want and the parts that I and my insurance company paid for.(1) New GM bumper retail cost $895.oo , my wholesale cost is $and that includes the new pads which you also were given money to by new and you used the old ones that don't fit the aftermarket bumper.(2) GM right rear tail light, the insurance company gave you money, $+to get a used light and you did not Retail cost $ my wholesale cost $120.49(3) New GMC tailgate emblem, you tried to glue the old one, it fell offRetail cost $ wholesale cost $54.18(4) GM new Sierra emblem Retail cost $ wholesale cost $47.13(5) GM SLE emblem Retail cost $ wholesale cost $13.42(6) hours to fix the rear view back up camera $( I already had it fixed )(7) I paid to have the whole truck buffed, clay barred and wet sand the poorly painted areasThe whole truck was covered in overspray which is paint, they never covered anything on the ruck, a quality body shop covers all areas that weren't painted to prevent thisThe chrome wheels were the worst, so simple to cover them up when painting, Again incom***nt poor very poor work$200.00(8) New rail bed covers, the drivers side is damaged from the improper installation Hillside did, they only way to get them is in pairs $77.00(9) Repaint the drivers side rear panel to fix the huge scratch they put in it , $400.00(10) Refinish the rear tailgate do to the globed on super glue that wont come off that Hillside did$300.00Total of $ for all damages that Hillside did to my truck.I have pictures of everything, the emails saved that I sent to [redacted] with day and time, all the written estimates from Hillside as well as the State farm adjuster, plus his testimonyI would include the witness who wrote the estimate and was there when I told him and the adjuster that I wanted no aftermarket parts, guaranteed me that I would have no aftermarket parts, no over sprayNot once did he mention that if I go with your "we will pay up to $of your deductible that I would get cheap non fitting aftermarket parts and poor quality of work.Look up my complaint with the State of Wisconsin, you will see [redacted] contradicting himself and more liesI have no reason to make any of this up, I have better things to do with my time, however I will not be pushed around, given poor quality work, given aftermarket parts that don't fit or look good and have damage done to my truckI also want to tell the public to be ware of Hillside and [redacted] ***, I bet he's been doing this for years and no one wants to stand up and say enough, you can not fraud insurance company's and con hard working people out of what they paid for and get away with poor work. When a business has a sign up that state" we will pay up to $of your insurance deductible" and by choosing this option Hillside auto body has the right to use aftermarket parts and do poor quality work and reuse old parts? This is a clear violation of state laws that were put there to protect the customerI at no time was ever told that this is what I get by choosing that way to goI never saw anything in writing that stated it and never sighed anything that said soThis is clear misrepresentation and fraud to the insurance company who paid Hillside the money to put on new GM parts and not reuse any old parts that Hillside was given for new.I get a GM discount, that's why I was nice enough to only ask for the wholesale price and no the retail numbers which the insurance company paid HillsideI also didn't ask for any labor charges to put on a new bumperand tail lightIn case the Revdex.com doesn't know this, aftermarket parts are cheaply made and out of times do not fit correctlyThe rear bumper that was put on my truck has fake chrome finish that im sure will pit and peel away in a year or 2, it also doesn't fit correctly to the lines of the truck and the pads don't fitMy guess is that they bought the bumper bar only from Certifit for $due to the fact the pads don't fit on this bumper tells me that they reused most all of the old padsThe cost on a full aftermarket bumper is $including pads, a far cry from $which is retail from a GM parts departmentThe tail light also aftermarket doesn't fit, there are gaps in between the body lines that you can stick your finger in, which is not rightCost of a aftermarket light was only $and Hillside was given $ for a GM used light which they did not put in.All the tailgate emblems were reused and super glued on and all fell off in daysA lifetime warranty Hillside offers? Really? How can they if the parts that were suppose to be brand new were the used parts that they tried to put back on?I have pictures of everything if the Revdex.com wants to see themI can be any clearer on the fact that I insisted on GM replacement parts from the 1st time I got an estimate from Hillside to the last when I got the estimate from the State Farm insurance adjusterWhy would I make any of this up? I would be embarrassed and ashamed if Hillside Auto body was my business and treats people so poorly, does such bad work, is dishonest about everything and takes no responsibility for anything that they did that was misleading to a customer.Hillside admitting to the state that they used aftermarket parts on my truck and that they did it because I choose there "will pay up to $of your deductible " is clearly misrepresenting the customer and fraudI will venture to guess that Hillside has done this to customers for years to unsuspecting people and that's wrong. Also I am being very generous to ask for what I did, if this goes to court and Hillside will be found in the wrong, the state laws protecting customers right that have been violated like mine have I will reseve times the amount that Hillside charged me for the body work plus all court costs and fees.I am not some ignorant customer that [redacted] and Hillside auto body can disrespect and lie to I am not going away and deserve what I and my insurance company paid Hillside for Regards, [redacted]

We were paid to fix a dent on a body line which we didWe were not paid to fix any waviness in a door panel We were not paid to blend color into adjacent panels to the repaired panels Although we were not paid to do so we did the blends anyway(typically an additional $charge)The customer felt the bumper was loose it is properly attached, the bumper is plastic and they do flex and we did explain this to the customerThe bumper is a manufacturer bumper which is mounted according to vehicle specifications The customer’s insurance adjuster did inspect the vehicle after repairs and said it looked wonderful and was very pleased with the repairsWhile the insurance adjuster felt we had already gone above and beyond on the repairs of this vehicle we still wanted to exceed the customer’s expectationsWe have gone above and beyond for this customer and have brought it back into the shop additional times after the initial repairs to correct issues that were not even damaged related or insurance approvedWithout the customer paying for additional work to be done on his vehicle that's unrelated to the damages paid for by the insurance and/or by the customer we are unable to proceed any further for the customer

We will try to re-state our stand point on this issue.....We are a small family owned and operated Auto Body Shop in
Waukesha (Hillside Auto Body). We have been in business since and
have an excellent reputation in the communityWe have this reputation because
customer satisfaction is our #goal, we don't just say that, we mean it, and
it has always worked very well for us. Unfortunately, we have run
into an issue with *** *** and his truck, and while we would like to
rectify any issues and make sure he is 100% satisfied, he is way more concerned
about getting money out of it than actually rectifying anything and has begun
creating accusations in order to try to force us to just pay him
off. His issues initially were an area of finish on the tailgate that
wasn't as good as he'd like, he claimed there was a scratch on the
opposite side of the truck than we repaired, and the bacamera didn't
workWhile we never want to have an issue, and are embarrassed that we
had an issue, these are very simple fixesFirst off, on the day *** came to pick up his truck and voiced a concern about a small area of finish on the tailgate, I tried to offer to
wet sand and buff the area on the tailgate a little more which would have taken
minutes or so and would most definitely have satisfied his concernSecondly, what
he thought was a scratch on the opposite side of the truck that he claimed we
made, he mistakenly began to rub it off in front of me making it 100%
clear it was some kind of "goop". My belief, from seeing
tree sap on cars many many times before, is, it was a couple drops of tree
sap, after he realized it wasn't a scratch, he said he felt we spilled glue on
itRegardless, it would have been a minute wipe off with our cleaning
solution which I happily offered the same day to take care of for him. Finally, the bacamera not functioning was not caught
by us or the insurance adjusterWhile we wish we could always find every issue
caused by an accident, we can't alwaysStandard procedure for finding
something else wrong with a vehicle after repairs are completed is to simply
supplement the damage to the insurance and they will pay for it, again,
this is very standard procedure. I am not trying to put blame on the
customer, or play petty games, I simply wanted to fix the issues
and possibly even do something extra to compensate him for any inconvenience
(we did have him in a free loaner car which he could have kept while we sorted
out these issues). I did ask the customer to leave after
he was uncontrollably yelling and cursing at me and my staff, but most
certainly did not, have never, and would never curse at a customer (witnesses
in our office at the time will verify that as well as security camera
recordings). I was embarrassed that we even had an issue, so all I wanted
to do was remedy it for the customer. That evening *** *** emailed
us threatening us with his attorney and so on....I replied back to him, the
same thing I told him earlier in our office, that we would happily take
care of any of his issues or concerns as long as he handled himself in a proper
manor in our office(we obviously have the emails saved). He then began
asking for money in stead of letting us take care of the
issues. After a couple more emails we clearly came to the conclusion that
he was just trying to get money out of us and has been fabricating more and
more problems sinceAgain, if there are any issues or concerns he has, even
now after being falsely accused of many things, we will happily take care of
them. We absolutely stand behind all of our repair work and have always
done soOur track record speaks for itself The actual history with this
customer is as follows: *** *** first brought his truck in for an
estimate for passenger side bedside damage and passenger side corner of rear
bumper damage as well as passenger side rear tail lamp damage. He
specifically requested us to REPAIR the passenger side bedside and use OEM
(original equipment parts), so that is how we wrote the initial estimate for
himThen he came back and wanted us to rewrite the estimate replacing the
passenger side bedside panel, so we did and gave it to himHe then brought the
truck in to the shop again so that State Farm InsCocould write the estimate
for him that they would actually pay for. The customer also received that
estimateThe customer wanted to save money vsState Farm's estimate (ended up
saving $370+ additional money for a Zdecal), which many customers do, so we wrote our final estimate for
exactly the amount he paidThis estimate was given to *** on
10/16 (weeks before actual repairs began and before we even got his
truck, the estimate still has the same date on it for proof) and included replacing the passenger side bedside panel with
an OEM panel (that panel is only available OEM) but aftermarket taillamp and
bumperThat's how we came up with the savingsWe advertise this kind of
discount which works very well with our customersBasically the insurance
company pays the customer for the repairs they write the estimate for and the
customer then comes to us wanting to save money, so we write an estimate for
the actual repairs we are doing and *** the customer directly for those
repairsSo that transaction is between the customer and us, not the insurance
company and us. *** was given that estimate ahead of time and again at
delivery as a final *** (although he did not take any of his
paperwork with him at time of vehicle completion). *** knew what the final *** would be before repairs began and had received the estimate with the exact final *** amount on 10/If *** thought we were doing the repairs off of any other estimate, he would have certainly wondered why his *** was over $cheaper than the adjusters estimate when he came in to pay the final ***?!?! Having stated all
of that, if there was some kind of miscommunication between *** and us,
we will happily sit down with *** and go through it, as we have offered to do
several times, and rectify any of his issues or concerns. We will
not however, be scammed into repairing his truck and then giving him
his money back, which is what he is trying to accomplish

This customer is trying to scam us (Hillside Auto Body). He has at least one other scam against another dealership in the works right now as well, as he himself told us. The customer was given the estimate of the actual repairs we were doing which was cheaper than the adjusters
estimateWe ***ed exactly the amount on that estimate, which was $less than the adjusters estimate because the customer wanted/needed to save money. The estimate (also final ***) are for exactly what was done on the truckWe would have been happy to do the repairs exactly to the adjusters estimate, but again, the customer wanted the savings, so we wrote our own estimate for the lower amount and ***ed exactly what our estimate was. The Zsticker on the side of the truck was put on by the customer after he purchased the truck and was not available for us to purchaseIn addition to the $lower estimate we wrote, we also credited an additional $because he bought the decals off of ebay, which company policy will not allow us to do (we wouldn't want be liable for any flaws in such parts)We even offered to install the new Zgraphic when he got itThe problem with the backup camera would have been easily remedied by supplementing the damage (regular and standard collision repair practice)No adjuster or estimator can find every bit of damage by simply looking at a damaged vehicle in the parking lot. We told the customer several times, that if there were any issues or concerns, we'd gladly remedy them as long as he did not continue swearing, screaming and threatening us or any of our employees. When he picked the truck up, there was some tree sap on the opposite side of the truck than the side we did the repairs on. He immediately began screaming and swearing at us and said that the tree sap was scratchesHe then rubbed his finger on those spots and they smeared, obviously showing it was tree sap not scratchesHe did voice dis-satisfaction with a small area of finish quality on the tailgate, which we promptly told him we'd be glad to polish out for him and it would only take a few minutesThe short version is, we did exactly what our estimate says, and ***ed exactly what our estimate is. The bed rails installed on the truck are what the customer ordered, not us, because they are again, aftermarketThere is no possible way to incorrectly install them as they only fit one way. The Zdecal issue was explained to him ahead of time, and he had no problem ordering it himself and was credited accordingly, and we told him we'd put it on for himUnfortunately, the backup camera issue was not seen or noticed by us, but would have been taken care of easily by us through supplementing the insurance company (standard practice). After inspecting the truck and realizing the tree sap was not actual scratches, he paid the *** and took the truck. It is always our complete intent to exceed every one of our customers expectations, and clearly our business record shows that we d. Unfortunately for this customer, we will not be scammed or tolerate the outrageous behavior and threatening of our employees by a customer either. This customer is simply to trying to "cash in" even more so than he already has, at our expense Our attorney has been contacted and will be filing suit for any further negative or harmful slandering of our excellent reputation from this customer. This, as well as all prior and all future communications surrounding this customer, have been and will be forwarded directly to our attorney

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is my reply to Hillsides reply.I am so tired of being lied to by [redacted], not once the day I picked up my truck did he offer anything to fix the problems that I saw there. He told me that the tailgate they never touched, lie number 1, I then told him you repaired the right lower corner and cleared the whole tailgate, his repose was, that's how it came from the factory with orange peel and all the fisheyes from painting while it was dusty or dirty. The  3 globs I saw on the corner panel he said were there when the truck came in, lie number 2, I waxed that truck before I took it in just for this reason and if any over spray got on it then it might come off easier. I bought this truck brand new, its never been outside, always in a garage and how is globs of glue or adhesive caulk similar to tree sap. I called [redacted] out on his lies and he got mad at me and I was "told  pay my [redacted] and  get the fk out and never come back " not once did he say anything about fixing any problems  or giving me a car to drive.[redacted] has no clue and continues to lie and deny. He hasn't owned Hillside since 1978, has no clue what was written on my estimates or what was said in front of the State farm estimator. I chose Hillside from the 3 I went to because the younger guy who gave my the original estimate was very knowledgeable and he was the only 1 of the 3 body shops that said you need to replace the whole right rear panel with a new one and do not bondo the old one, it wont last. I did business with Hillside  in 1988 and they did good work then, had I know [redacted] was the owner and the shotty  bad work and poor way he treats customers I would of never gone there. When I set up a time to have the state farm adjuster meet me at hillside I told the guy at hillside who gave me the estimate that I do not want any aftermarket parts on this truck and want the bed side replaced, he said that a truck this new isn't written up with aftermarket parts and that they will be all GM parts. When the State farm estimator was there in front of  the Hillside employee, forgive me but I think his name was Seth, I told the estimator the same as I told Hillside, I want no aftermarket parts at all because they don't fit right. He said I am writing it up with all GM parts plus I am giving Hillside the money to put all new GM badges on the tailgate less the 1 e85 emblem which I was fine with. I have the Hillside employee, the State farm adjuster and myself as witnesses to this plus I have the estimate from Hillside with all GM part numbers to be replaced as well as State farms estimate with new emblems and a few other things that Hillside missed.Hillside has a big sign out front that says we will pay up to $500.00 of  your insurance deductible, and that caught my attention, who doesn't want to save money? I was not once told by anyone or on any sign or papers that if you choose this option that Hillside has the right to use any parts they want to and put aftermarket parts on after I said more then once that I want all GM parts, the estimates show that as well. This is misrepresentation, I sent a complaint into the state of Wisconsin, Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, in the reply back to me code 132.09 (2) (D) was violated, misrepresentation. In the reply [redacted] also admits to using aftermarket parts after the insurance company gave him the money for new. I not once verbally approved this ever and will have the testimony if needed of the State Farm insurance adjuster that was there that day. Again [redacted] tells nothing but lies. Also Hillside is in violation of state code 132.09 (4) (C)  and 132.09 (4) (A) Fell free to  look this up on file , or talk with [redacted] file number 55064 consumer protection Investigator ,[redacted].[redacted]@wisconsin.govI emailed Hillside several times , when I got home, the next day and the following week with problems I found. Let me be very clear, I do not want Hillside to touch my truck and would never put it in there hands ever again. They didn't offer anything until they got the States complaint, then I was emailed oh , were sorry for anything  and will try to take care of everything, another [redacted] lie. Also I was given a loaner car when I had my truck in the body shop originaly, expired plates and registration, dirty filthy car as well, how can you put a customer in a car with  expired plates? Again it shows how poor of a place Hillside is and how [redacted] doesn't care. When I took my truck in to be repaired at Hillside, my backup camera worked just fine as well as the reverse sensors, I am very anal with all my vehicles and I assure you that everything  worked 100 % in my truck the day I dropped it off including the broken rear tail light, why would I lie? What would it gain me? I told [redacted] that to remove the tailgate to repair it and pain/clear it you have to unplug the camera, when I took it in to find out why it didn't work they showed me you have to lower the spare tire complexly, go in front of the tire where the plugs are and unplug both plugs. The incom[redacted]nt employees at Hillside unplugged both plugs and plugged them into each other after  they put the tailgate back on causing it to not work. There is labor involved to have someone fix it which I paid, 3 hours labor to fix it or find out what they did, $85.00 an hour which is cheap. [redacted] doesn't even know how to get the tailgate off, the accident never caused or touched the rear camera, Hillside was incom[redacted]nt and didn't know how to plug it back in, another [redacted] lie.I don't know in my original complaint if I mentioned the G M emblems that were supposed to be replaced new, Hillside decided to reuse the old emblems and attempt to super glue them on my truck, they fell off most in my hands 2 days later,  [redacted]'s response, we would never do that. I have pictures of everything, the old emblems  which they cut the back off to try to glue them, again incom[redacted]nt work, at least if you are going to cut corners and defraud the customer try 2 sided tape. I also have a huge clump of hardened super glue that wont come off of my tailgate, I cant get it off without damaging it and cant put a  new one on. It needs to be stripped down and fixed.Hillside was given extra money to replace the rail cap  on the drivers side bed because the come in pairs and it wouldn't match the other side. They ripped the diver side old rail cap off and scratched the bed about a 6 to 10 inch deep gauge in the paint. I missed it when I picked up my truck, and emailed [redacted] about it, his response we never touched it. They also installed the drivers side rail cap crooked and half on and half off, again it needs to be replaced to fix properly. Yet again total incom[redacted]nce and poor work by Hillside.I want the money to fix the items that Hillside auto body  did damage to my truck. I will under no circumstances let Hillside touch my tuck and I hope you can understand why. They misrepresent, lie to the customer, tell the customer to get out and never come back and most of all do very very very poor work.Aftermarket parts do not fit, look bad and are of bad quality. A auto body that states they have a lifetime warranty that uses below quality and poor fit and finish aftermarket parts clearly is in it to save them money and take the customers and or insurance company hard earned money. Just so you know [redacted], I pay my insurance every 6 months and am entitled to get the parts I want and the parts that I and my insurance company paid for.(1)  New GM  bumper   retail cost $895.oo , my wholesale cost is $671.25 and that includes the new pads which you also were given money to by new and you used the old ones that don't fit the aftermarket bumper.(2) GM right rear tail light, the insurance company gave you money, $100.00 +35.00 to get a used light and you did not.   Retail cost $160.65  my wholesale cost $120.49(3) New GMC tailgate emblem, you tried to glue the old one, it fell off. Retail cost $72.23  wholesale cost $54.18(4) GM new Sierra emblem  Retail cost $55.49  wholesale cost $47.13(5) GM SLE emblem   Retail cost $ 20.83  wholesale cost $13.42(6) 3 hours to fix the rear view back up camera $255.00 ( I already had it fixed )(7) I paid to have the whole truck buffed, clay barred and wet sand the poorly painted areas. The whole truck was covered in overspray which is paint, they never covered anything on the ruck, a quality body shop covers all areas that weren't painted to prevent this. The chrome wheels were the worst, so simple to cover them up when painting, Again incom[redacted]nt poor very poor work. $200.00(8) New rail bed covers, the drivers side is damaged from the improper installation Hillside did, they only way to get them is in pairs  $77.00(9) Repaint the drivers side rear panel to fix the huge scratch they put in it , $400.00(10) Refinish the rear tailgate do to the globed  on super glue that wont come off that Hillside did. $300.00Total of $2138.47  for all damages that Hillside did to my truck.I have pictures of everything, the emails saved  that I sent to [redacted] with day and time, all the written estimates from Hillside as well as the State farm adjuster, plus his testimony. I would include the witness who wrote the estimate and was there when I told him and the adjuster that I wanted no aftermarket parts, guaranteed me that I would have no aftermarket parts, no over spray. Not once did he mention that if I go with your "we will pay up to $500.00 of your deductible that I would get cheap non fitting aftermarket parts and poor quality of work.Look up my complaint with the State of Wisconsin, you will see [redacted] contradicting himself and more lies. I have no reason to make any of this up, I have better things to do with my time, however I will not be pushed around, given poor quality work, given aftermarket parts that don't fit or look good and have damage done to my truck. I also want to tell the public to be ware of Hillside and [redacted], I bet he's been doing this for years and no one wants to stand up and say enough, you can not fraud insurance company's and con hard   working people out of   what they paid for and get away with poor work. When a business has a sign up that state" we will pay up to $500.00 of your insurance deductible" and by choosing this option Hillside auto body has the right to use aftermarket parts and do poor quality work and reuse old parts? This is a clear violation of state laws that were put there to protect the customer. I at no time was ever told that this is what I get by choosing that way to go. I never saw anything in writing that stated it and never sighed anything that said so. This is clear misrepresentation and fraud to the insurance company who paid Hillside the money to put on new GM parts and not reuse any old parts that Hillside was given for new.I get a GM discount, that's why I was nice enough to only ask for the wholesale price and no the retail numbers which the insurance company paid Hillside. I also didn't ask for any labor charges to put on a new bumper4 and tail light. In case the Revdex.com doesn't know this, aftermarket parts are cheaply made and 9 out of 10 times do not fit correctly. The rear bumper that was put on my truck has fake chrome finish that im sure will pit and peel away in a year or 2, it also doesn't fit correctly to the lines of the truck and the pads don't fit. My guess is that they bought the bumper bar only from Certifit for $56.75 due to the fact the pads don't fit on this bumper tells me that they reused most all of the old pads. The cost on a full aftermarket bumper is $342.50 including pads, a far cry from $895.00 which is retail from a GM parts department. The tail light also aftermarket doesn't fit, there are gaps in between the body lines that you can stick your finger in, which is not right. Cost of a aftermarket light was only $59.75 and Hillside was given $100.00  for a GM used light which they did not put in.All the tailgate emblems were reused and super glued on and all fell off in 2 days. A lifetime warranty Hillside offers? Really? How can they if the parts that were suppose to be brand new were the used parts that they tried to put back on?I have pictures of everything if the Revdex.com wants to see them. I can be any clearer on the fact that I insisted on GM replacement parts from the 1st time I got an estimate from Hillside to  the last when I got the estimate from the State Farm insurance adjuster. Why would I make any of this up? I would be embarrassed and ashamed if Hillside Auto body was my business and treats people so poorly, does such bad work, is dishonest about everything and takes no responsibility for anything that they did that was misleading to a customer.Hillside admitting to the state that they used aftermarket parts on my truck and that they did it because I choose there "will pay up to $500.00 of your deductible " is clearly misrepresenting the customer and fraud. I will venture to guess that Hillside has done this to customers for years to unsuspecting people and that's wrong. Also I am being very generous to ask for what I did, if this goes to court and Hillside will be found in the wrong, the state laws protecting customers right that have been violated like mine have I will reseve  2 times the amount that Hillside charged me for the body work plus all court costs and fees.I am not some ignorant customer that [redacted] and Hillside auto body can disrespect and lie to . I am not going away and deserve what I and my insurance company paid Hillside for.

Regards,
[redacted]  I have no scam on anything or anyone, [redacted] continues to tell lie after lie. I have a written estimate from Hillside auto body using GM part numbers and all GM replacement parts. I  also have a estimate from the insurance adjuster with all GM replacement parts to be used. Furthermore when I went to hill side I was very specific about using all new GM parts. After I made this complaint found out while getting my backup camera fixed that Hillside put Asian aftermarket parts on my truck, the right rear tail light, and rear bumper, as they do not fit at all, that's insurance fraud. At no time was I ever told that because they have a sign up that states they will pay up to $500.00 of your deductible that they will cut corners and use all aftermarket parts on my truck. Also they were given money by the insurance adjuster to replace all emblems with new on my tailgate, also after my initial complaint all they emblem fell off my tailgate, they tried to super glue all the old emblems, I have detailed pictures of all said items. The back up camera was unplugged by hillside to get to the the rear bumper and brackets and other stuff that would be done to fix the truck, I had it repaired which was a lot of labor, they plugged it wrong and caused damage to the wiring. I never swore to anyone at hillside or threatened anyone at anytime, I raised my voice to [redacted]  after he continued to lie to me and denies  that all my complaints were either that way when I brought it in, the factory did that or they never did that. The tree sap is another lie, it was huge globs of glue that they did and there was a matching glue glob on the drivers side window from the lousy works  that did the work. I waxed my truck and cleaned it before I took it in and know every mark on the truck. Hillside  also got money for new bed rail covers and ripped off the drivers side and caused a huge 10 to 12 inch scratch that I also have detailed pictures of. The Z71 sticker was just laziness on the part of Hillside, I got it within 5 minutes at my GMC dealer, I had told [redacted] that I got it on ebay, but that was a prior truck, I bought this truck brand new from Grienfield GMC and I had them replace the stickers with a different color, he lied to me about that too and said that they haven't made those decals in 12 years. I have had it with all the lies of [redacted], I have scammed no one and the person that claims that is normally the person who lies and is tiring to scam everyone himself.  I also emailed [redacted] on 4 different times and 2 of them as soon as I got home that night with my truck with all the bad work and damage done to my truck. Furthermore I told Nate at the time when the insurance adjuster was present that all the parts will be GM replacement and he said yes, including all new emblems, and the insurance adjuster said that's they way I wrote it up and that's what you will get. This now is  clear and blatant 100% insurance  fraud. [redacted] tells nothing but lies and denies anything and everything. I was never given a proper [redacted] that detailed what they did and part numbers used, that's the oldest scam in the book, [redacted] does that knowing that most customers don't care and wouldn't want a detailed final [redacted]. Hillside is the scam artist here, look at the Revdex.com complaints against them. I will not stand to be called a scammer, lied to over and over again and told that I threatened anyone or swore continuously. [redacted] cant handle it when a customer gets upset and tells him that he lied and did crap work, I was told by [redacted] and I quote " pay your Fkin [redacted] and get the Fk out and never come back" Im sorry to used that language but that exactly to the work verbatim what he told me the day I picked up my truck after I pointed out all the bad work they did  and after the countless lies he told me. This cant be any clearer, I have all detailed pictures of the damage and shotty work, I have the Asain  aftermarket tail light, bumper and all the emblems that they super glued as well as a detailed estimate written from Hillside using all GM replacement parts as well as GM part numbers. I also have the [redacted]"s for fixing my backup camera which is a factory item, the [redacted] for having all the overspray buffed and clay bared  off my truck and most of all the State Farm insurance adjusters testimony and written estimate  that all parts are to be new GM parts used. I also have all the extra's that Hillside asked for after the fact from the insurance adjuster and State Farm, that's why I never got a detailed [redacted] from Hillside. If [redacted] want to continue to lie and deny and slander me I will get my attorney involved, this is a cut and dry case of poor work and clear insurance fraud.

customer felt the bumper was loose it is properly attached, the bumper is plastic and they do flex and we did explain this to the customer. The bumper is a manufacturer bumper which is mounted according to vehicle specifications.   The customer’s insurance adjuster did inspect the vehicle after repairs and said it looked wonderful and was very pleased with the repairs. While the insurance adjuster felt we had already gone above and beyond on the repairs of this vehicle we still wanted to exceed the customer’s expectations. We have gone above and beyond for this customer and have brought it back into the shop 2 additional times after the initial repairs to correct issues that were not even damaged related or insurance approved. Without the customer paying for additional work to be done on his vehicle that's unrelated to the damages paid for by the insurance and/or by the customer we are unable to proceed any further for the customer.

Review: August 18,2013, I took my 2002 Buick Regal to Hillside Auto Body for a complete detail. I was told to leave the vehicle that the detail would take about three hours. About an hour and a half later I was notified that my vehicle was done. Wax was left all over my vehicle, the windows were not cleaned and the interior of the vehicle looked like it was given a "hit and miss" cleaning, the door jams were not cleaned and dog hair was left on the seats and carpets. I don't mind paying the $100.00 for good service, however, this detailing was not worth half of the amount I paid.My daughter took my vehicle back to Hillside Auto Body to discuss the less than satisfactory job. She was told "what do you expect, it is an old car". She did not receive an apology or an offer to fix what was wrong. My daughter told the employee that they would not receive any more of our business or referrals to which he responded, "fine".Desired Settlement: I would appreciate a telephone call from the owner of Hillside Auto Body. I do not want to talk to the young man that waited on me.

Review: I brought my 2012 Gmc Sierra with body damage to Hillside auto body to repair. I met my claims adjuster there from State farm insurance for him to do a estimate. He gave Hillside auto body more money then there estimate was written for due to the fact that I wanted all GM replacement parts to be used. The insurance adjuster said that because it is a newer truck that he is writing it up for all GM replacement parts to be used, all new GM emblems on the tailgate, a new Gm bumper, a new GM tail light and a new left rear quarter panel skin. I was very specific with Nate of Hillside who wrote the estimate originally that I wanted all replacement GM parts and he told me absolutely they will be, and also on the original estimate to use all GM replacement parts and the insurance adjusters estimate it also stated that. When they were done with my truck the left rear tail light is an aftermarket light with the made in Asia sticker and it doesn't fit, the rear bumper also with no GM sticker on it, again made in Asia and is a aftermarket bumper that does not fit properly. All the emblems that were to be replaced with new GM emblems were reused and re glued , which all fell off the truck 2 days later. My factory reverse camera no longer worked, the bed rail covers that the insurance company gave Hillside extra money to replace was put on incorrectly, scratched the bedside with a 6 to 10 inch gauge in the paint, the truck was covered in overspray, the rear tailgate has a huge spot of super glue that wont come off where they attempted to glue a emblem and the drivers side rear of the truck had 3 big spots or globs of glue that weren't on there when I took the truck in. They failed to put my Z71 decal on, rear bumper molding do not line up or fit and dust pocks all over the rear tailgate from painting or clearing it dirty or full of dust.Desired Settlement: I brought up several of the listed above items to [redacted] and he denied, then lied to me and when I told him that this is not acceptable work he told me and I quote " get the fk out and never come back. I also emailed him after with many problems and I will not return to this place ever and certainly do not want them to touch my truck. I have pictures of everything including the used emblems that fell off. I want money for all the items listed, I already had the back up camera fixed, the whole trucked buffed and clay bared out. Telling the customer that all parts will be new GM parts that we will use on said truck, then not using them is insurance fraud. I demand that Hillside pay for all damage they did including all GM replacement parts for the Asian aftermarket parts that they knowingly put on the truck.

Response:

This customer is trying to scam us (Hillside Auto Body). He has at least one other scam against another dealership in the works right now as well, as he himself told us. The customer was given the estimate of the actual repairs we were doing which was cheaper than the adjusters estimate. We [redacted]ed exactly the amount on that estimate, which was $370 less than the adjusters estimate because the customer wanted/needed to save money. The estimate (also final [redacted]) are for exactly what was done on the truck. We would have been happy to do the repairs exactly to the adjusters estimate, but again, the customer wanted the savings, so we wrote our own estimate for the lower amount and [redacted]ed exactly what our estimate was. The Z71 sticker on the side of the truck was put on by the customer after he purchased the truck and was not available for us to purchase. In addition to the $370 lower estimate we wrote, we also credited an additional $59.00 because he bought the decals off of ebay, which company policy will not allow us to do (we wouldn't want be liable for any flaws in such parts). We even offered to install the new Z71 graphic when he got it. The problem with the backup camera would have been easily remedied by supplementing the damage (regular and standard collision repair practice). No adjuster or estimator can find every bit of damage by simply looking at a damaged vehicle in the parking lot. We told the customer several times, that if there were any issues or concerns, we'd gladly remedy them as long as he did not continue swearing, screaming and threatening us or any of our employees. When he picked the truck up, there was some tree sap on the opposite side of the truck than the side we did the repairs on. He immediately began screaming and swearing at us and said that the tree sap was scratches. He then rubbed his finger on those spots and they smeared, obviously showing it was tree sap not scratches. He did voice dis-satisfaction with a small area of finish quality on the tailgate, which we promptly told him we'd be glad to polish out for him and it would only take a few minutes. The short version is, we did exactly what our estimate says, and [redacted]ed exactly what our estimate is. The bed rails installed on the truck are what the customer ordered, not us, because they are again, aftermarket. There is no possible way to incorrectly install them as they only fit one way. The Z71 decal issue was explained to him ahead of time, and he had no problem ordering it himself and was credited accordingly, and we told him we'd put it on for him. Unfortunately, the backup camera issue was not seen or noticed by us, but would have been taken care of easily by us through supplementing the insurance company (standard practice). After inspecting the truck and realizing the tree sap was not actual scratches, he paid the [redacted] and took the truck. It is always our complete intent to exceed every one of our customers expectations, and clearly our business record shows that we d. Unfortunately for this customer, we will not be scammed or tolerate the outrageous behavior and threatening of our employees by a customer either. This customer is simply to trying to "cash in" even more so than he already has, at our expense. Our attorney has been contacted and will be filing suit for any further negative or harmful slandering of our excellent reputation from this customer. This, as well as all prior and all future communications surrounding this customer, have been and will be forwarded directly to our attorney.
