Review: The business I contracted to install siding on my home and newly constructed garage failed to complete the work, After giving me an estimate and making his own bill of materials, They not only left the job site unannounced but only made a very poor attempt to do the work with any degree of skill. After asking for half of the total amount of the job up front, which I thought was strange because I furnished all of the materials myself. They did not complete any of the work we discussed during our job showing. They slipped off site and would not return any calls. Mr. [redacted] is suppose to be a leader in church I was not expecting him to leave, me with a job as poorly done as this. In the mean time Ive had three other contractors look and price completing this job all commented that they would have to tear off at least half of the work to make it right. I have pictures for documentation.Desired Settlement: Asking for six hundred dollars of the $1325 being that I will have to tear off half of the new siding and hope I will not damage the materials as this occurs. After that I will contract someone else to help me finish this job . They really did not have many work hours on the job because they did not generally start work before (9-9:30 and left before 3:30-4:00.

ID: [redacted]Hillside Construction[redacted]I went to Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] house to give an estimate on installing Vinyl Siding and Shake Siding to their home. The customer had stated that the metal, white j-channel and white boxes on home was to remain on home and not be replaced. Once on jobsite the customer decided to replace on home all metal, and j-channel and boxes to match siding. I cut and broke 300ft. of metal, installed a window, removed and reinstalled a meter base, installed a light, replaced all j-channel and boxes to match. All of this additional work was done at no additional cost to the customer. The customer was OVERLY DISGRUNTLED to the point I removed and replaced a corner to remove a 1/8 inch more off corner for customer. I left due to not being able to please customer, when he demanded the whole back of siding be removed due to a piece having to be cut to make siding lines to match other sides of home. I had installed all the vinyl siding and only thing left on my contract that was not complete was the shake siding.A contract was signed by both parties on work to be performed, total job was $2650.00. Our contract always states ½ down and remainder due upon completion. We did receive the ½ down of $1325.00 by Mr. [redacted], but did not request or ask for any remainder or for any extra for additional work that was performed. I had to drive hour and 40 minutes one way to the customer’s home, I also have pictures of my work on the home. I have been in construction business since 1989 and this is the first complaint to the Revdex.com I have ever received.

Regarding his response , First off I did not measure the house for materials they did during our walk down of the job. Initially we discussed the work to take place all was included even the metal to be replaced all around the house . If you were replacing all off the vinyl siding on the house would you not want all new electrical boxes for outlets and light fixtures to match new siding . we discussed the need for all new metal to be broke as the old was dirty and ill fitting. As for the amount he claims to have bent my house deminsions are approx 50ft x24 for a total of 1200 sq. ft he bent metal for the front back and one end they did not even do the new garage end which needed metal wrapped around garage doors as well as above the stone for water drainage. They completed the easiest part of the whole job Installing the regular dutch lap siding and did a very poor job of that , I have hired someone else to begin tearing off all of the vinyl that needs to be reworked. Sadly I will loose more materials during this process off reworking their poor quality of workmanship. They did not do any of the installation as would a good siding contractor could do , They just took advantage of the situation and bailed out unnanounced because he had my money up front . As for his travel time they allowed their selves plenty of time to commute they only averaged 5-6 hrs on the job dailey.
