Review: October 14, 2013Hillside Manor[redacted], PA, [redacted]Re: Violation of Landlord AgreementDear Hillside Manor:I have repeatedly made complaints that I do not have working heat, my wall has not been painted, and there are Dangerous Pins sticking up thru my carpet outside my bathroom. I have advised you the company thru phone calls, thru mouth, and thru text messages, and voice mails, that my concerns are not handled and in a timely fashion. So I have no choice but to report this to the Attorney General, The Revdex.com, and License and Inspections. I have a toddler who is walking around. On those cold nights I have to turn on my oven which is dangerous with a young child walking around to warm my home that you expect me to pay rent at. I also have to keep my child who is newly walking and 1 year old confined because he has already stepped on these pins that are in front of my bathroom sticking out of my rug. I have been told this would be fixing. I have now had to set an appointment for my child to be checked by his doctor to make sure there is no infection in his feet as he has stepped on the pin and screamed out in pain. I have also stepped on these pins and was told by my doctor I should get a lead test to make sure there is no poison in the pins. This disturbs me. I have lived here since august 23rd 2013. I paid you a security deposit that is understandable, but I have nothing put problems being here for only 50 days. I have had leaks, I have had roof leaks that happened to have leaked over top of my 600 dollar computer and some to damage some of my mother (who happens to be deceased) dishes that I cannot replace. I have had heat problems, some of my doors have no locks, and pins and needles sticking thru my carpet as if the workers never completed their job. I paid 715 first month rent from sept to oct and 340 for some prorate that dont even cost that much Im assuming for part of October total I paid to be here for only 50 days with all these problems 1100 dollars my rent is only 715.00 the math is not calculating up. I should not have to contact my landlord every other day about a problem. I am not hoping when my child sees his pediatrician on 10/21 that he is okay because if not then who fault would this is. I have spoken to [redacted] and [redacted] and the workers passing by about my concerns and it seems to be falling on deaf ears. Im sure If I dont pay rent then Im sure you will have to do what you have to just as well that if my concerns are not handled and my child end up with a deathly cold because its cold in our apartment or he falls on one of these pins then I have to do what I need to do. So this letter is to inform you of my concerns and that I am placing my rent in an escrow account until you do what is in your lease to do. You say we cant paint so you need to paint, you say all we can do is hang pictures so you need to fix these pins, Peco energy says I should report you because my heat is suppose to be working no later than 10/15 and its not. I feel this is something I have to do because I feel I have warned you ahead and time of these concerns and given you amble time to address it. Just an FYI, I know my rights as a tenant and I am aware I cannot hold rent if there is no cause. However, after speaking with an attorney I am told I can hold rent if the landlord is responsible for warming the apartment as that is needed for winter months, cosmetics parts that I cannot address on my own per my lease, so until it is fixed I do not have to pay for living conditions such as these and to enter my money in to an escrow account. That letter you will be receiving as well. I will appreciate your swift response in the matter and look forward to coming to are solution quickly. If we cannot come to a resolutions that works for both parties then this letter will then serve as my 60 notice as of 10/16 to vacate premise. I will be dropping off the findings from my childs and my doctor on or after our appointments to check for lead and infections in the skin.
