My mother-in-law was charged what I think is an excessive price for a part - and when I went to return it - HillyBilly charged a 25% restocking fee.Bought 10 - returned July 14 [redacted] Brush roll. Paid $66 including taxes Refunded $50There was no sign in the store, no notice on the bill and no verbal notice that returns were subject to restocking fee.In checking with another Vaccuum shops in Regina I was advised that their cost for the part is $40 ($39.95). I did check with HillyBilly and was told he had not made a mistake in the price. Desired SettlementI would consider this matter closed with a refund of $16.Business Response We at the Hillybilly Vac Shack appreciate the concerns of the customer with regard to our interaction in early and mid July. The part purchased (rollerbrush-[redacted]) is indeed correctly priced at $59.99 plus taxes. As posted in our 'policies' at the cash register, all sales are considered final, with refunds to be considered at our discretion. Such considerations are extended to our customers as a sign of good will in an attempt to reach a collective compromise that benefits both entities. This consideration, as posted, levies a restocking fee in the event that the purchasing party is not greater satisfied by a full-monetary-value exchange for merchandise of equal value in our store. This is the consideration that was granted to Mr. [redacted], of whom accepted the refund value, less the restocking levy, on 14 July 2014. As always, we appreciate the opportunity afforded us by the Revdex.com to further mitigate such conflicts. We will continue to respond accordingly in the hopes that any chance for reasonable resolution may be granted. Neither my wife nor mother-in-law saw it when they purchased the brush and I did not see it on two subsequent visits to the store. Also, strangely, the owner did not point the posting out to me when I returned the brush for credit. If he has since posted a prominent sign to that effect - that is progress. [redacted]
