Review: Siding was improperly installed on our house in March 2014. They returned in September, but the problems were not resolved. Siding is still lifting off at one side of the house; siding is bulging at the roof line; an entire section of siding moves like a wave in the wind; they nailed through the front of the siding to hold it up under a window where it was coming down, then removed the nails when I complained and just left nail holes in the siding; there is insulation and Tyvek missing when we paid for this to be installed.

A new contractor told us the following: "I found several large areas of siding pulling away from the wall more than an inch, soft spots under some siding that can only be from missing insulation, “face nailing” in high visibility areas, Snip cut seams which are open considerably and pinched panels where they should float. It’s obvious to the home owner -a lay person, and very obvious to myself, a seasoned professional, that this was a poorly executed job and will not last even another year.

Also, we have had to replace a double door because of water ingress that this company failed to inform us about. They removed a screen door and the track and put aluminum cladding over a wooden frame and when we started to see the water damage from water collecting in the cladding they said "everyone knows that a J-channel will collect water if a door is not installed properly." We did not know this door was NOT installed properly as we never had water issues before. They should have told us if this was the case., not just encased the wood so that it would rot and lead to having to replace the entire door.Desired Settlement: According to our new contractor, the following should be done to correct the issues:

"Remove and rehang the upper half of the back wall with proof that proper insulation and tyvek are installed correctly, and re-secure the siding with 2-1/2” galv. roofing nails being “STUD” nailed."

The siding at the right side of the house will also need to be secured in a similar manner.

The damaged piece of siding (where they left nail holes) under the kitchen window should be replaced and properly secured.

All points where there might be ingress of water around windows, decks, doors, or roof-line should be checked and made water tight if necessary.

Review: The main thing that triggered this complaint was the fact that only a couple months after John and his company came out to my home to repair a leaking ceiling...the problem has now come back and is leaking again with no response or effort from John and his company to come and fix the problem before it gets worse again. There has been no communication on the next step or what he plans to do about his work that has not been done properly. He promised me that if there was any issue that he would be out to make it right. I have contacted John on several occasion through email , text, and voice-mails for three weeks and no ownership from him or his company. John seemed trustworthy in initial meetings when I hired him, since then, it is very disappointing to have been disrespected as a consumer. I would have let the fact go that he said it would take two weeks to finish yet took almost 4, I would have let the fact go that it had cost more than originally planned, I might have also let go that they left a broken tile in my basement and let go they did not properly instal the outdoor lights to the home, I also might have let go the fact that the side paneling was improperly installed(John did correct this though before finishing project) I also would have let go that a step on the deck is loose already and would have definitely let go that he put a sign in my front yard that he was coming back for in a day or two but I now still have with me for some reason...But the fact there IS WATER STILL COMING IN MY HOME is without question something I will not let go and will take every effort to ensure the services of John H[redacted] and company are know to others who are considering hiring them as to try and prevent anything close to this experience again for anyone.Desired Settlement: The outcome would be to stop water from entering my home, which was the single goal when start of project began.
