Hingewerks Inc Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I responded to Hingewerks with the rejection, but neglected to add my personal responseI also have all the text messages between *** at Hingewerks and myself that I would like to submit to Revdex.com as further written proofThe refund of $is for the additional damage that I found after I paid (as *** did admit in his response)It is not money for my silence as I will not sign any paper for himHe owes me the $for damages and an unconditional final release for my payment in fullI do not owe him any release of responsibility nor do I owe him a promise not to report his bad business to anyone I feel I need to. He was well aware of my need for a clean demo, as I told him my husband is a construction worker, Laborer Journeyman, who does demo and underground for commercial Union projects but we needed someone who could provide a professional, safe, clean home demo, with air scrubbers and complete containment due to my healthI did not need to explain in great detail my health condition to him, but did inform him what I needed, he quoted it and promised it but neglected to deliver. He also took a week to do the job when it was supposed to be no longer than days (as indicated and promised in text messages) being that it is our only restroom, and there was damage done to one of my tile, therefore there was the initial credit that is not in debate, I just felt the need to correct his untruthfulness from his response to Revdex.comHingewerks did not do as promised not only on the contract but I did reiterated it to his employee Lupe, that I was very sick and needed to have a very clean safe demo, and he agreed that he was going to provide itI did get VERY upset when I discovered that he did not do a safe, clean demo and contacted *** immediatelyHe denied it and I informed him that I have it all on videoNot only that, they did not treat the mold that was found on the studs after they said they would and they reinstalled a moldy baseboardEach and every time I found out a new horrible thing, I contacted *** and I was never ok with any of itHe argued over and over with me on everything and so when he said he was coming over to my house right then, uninvited, I told him to wait for my husband to get home because I am too sick to keep arguing with him that he can argue with my husbandHe did not want to, I guess he only likes to argue with womenHe sent one of his guys out to check the first drywall work and even he said that it was done very bad and needed to be redoneI have hundreds of videos and many many photos, if you are interested in seeing them I will send them to you, right now I have attached the pages of text messages. The secondary credit is for the additional damages, which he admits to, but he wants to withhold my refund for damages by his employees because I would not agree to sign a release releasing him from any further responsibility or warranty for the workI informed him that that is illegal and I will contact the CSLB, that there was no way I was going to do that, he then said ok he wouldn't ask me to sign that but instead he wanted me to sign a letter stating that I would not contact CSLB or give his company a bad reviewAgain this is a refund for further damage from his companies horrible workmanship that is owed to me so that I can get it fixed Blessings,*** ***People will forget what you saidPeople will forget what you didBut people will never forget how you made them feel.
Regards,
*** ***

We were hired to replace a cracked tub and surround. The only mention of mold or mildew in our conversation was me telling Mrs. [redacted] that abatement was not included. She told me there was a little mildew were the surround met the tub and I told her we would be removing that anyway so it was not...

a concern. I mentioned that if there was anything behind the walls, we would address that at the time. I did agree to supply an air scrubber with a HEPA filter but we had a scheduling snag with delivering her tub and in all of the excitement, I flat out forgot to get one. I called Mrs. [redacted] on the morning we began and apologized and told her I would remove that charge from the bill and that my worker was telling me the walls behind looked good. She acted fine with that solution at the time.I wasn't told of Mrs' [redacted]'s health issues until we began the job. She told me she was disabled, not sick. I'd like to think I would have placed a higher priority on the air scrubber had I known.I had planned to handle the entire job over a 2 day period but that did not happen. Due to an existing cracked santee fitting in the wall, we had about a 1 hour delay on the job while Mrs' [redacted] tried to figure out if we or the association should repair it. It was decided the association and the plumber stayed until 7pm that evening. My worker stayed until 6:30pm but realized he would need to try and finish all of the drywall the following day. He spent the next day at the clients home patching and repairing drywall and although he did not finish, he was making good progress. Mrs. [redacted] was not happy with the work and I don't think understood that drywall repairs often take multiple layers to build back the finish properly. I sent 2 workers there next and we removed the drywall completely above the surround, replaced, taped, and texture matched and she was very happy. The next morning, she found something she didn't like and sent me pictures although she said you couldn't really make anything out in the pictures. I told her I would come look but she told me no and I would need to wait until her husband got home that evening. She didn't want me in her home and the association drywaller was fixing our work.At this point, I was willing to drastically reduce the price and removed all drywall charges plus much more and we would just move on. She called my office and paid the reduced total and then later found some addition drywall issues and asked for more money. I told her I would pay her the new amount if she agreed to sign something that she would not defame Hingewerks or it's employees, not contact the contractors license board, or our bond company. She said she would not sign anything and made several accusations and threats. I respectfully repeated my demand and she repeated. She has contacted the license board and the deal for the refund is no longer available. We do a fantastic job and care deeply for the quality of work and the customers we work for. Every once in awhile, we get a client we can not make happy and while it's troubling, we will move forward and continue doing the quality of work that has kept us a thriving, referral based business.
