I recently purchased a BOP for my company from Hiscox. This company has been nothing but professional and awesome. Highly recommended.

Scott M[redacted] with Hiscox was a very patient, knowledgeable, and determined individual whom I had a memorable and lasting impression/ experience with. I will definitely be recommending the whole company to many of my collegues and peers, as well as partners and clients, on his behalf alone. Gone are the days when a representative takes the time to confirm answers and make sure that you receive the best information possible, and Scott has done exactly that. My original call was due to an oversight made by the company with a double billing situation. Scott made me feel confident and secure that it would be taken care of delicately and swiftly. I did not even realize that it had been going on, and would have not thought anything of the oversight as more than a product I had added to my policy and forgotten. He was even willing to contact the underwriters for questions directly. I put my faith in this gentleman and have high hopes for his future with Hiscox. I would trust this man as my direct account management representative. He does Hiscox a great justice with his calm, collected, customer service, and as such deserves praise and acknowledgement.

Hiscox renewed my company's insurance policy and charged my credit without my approval. I called Hiscox representative while she refused to fully refund the unauthorized charge.

Review: On August **, 2012 I made an claim to the insurance company that one of our critical equipment had stop working, after making the claim we were told that a representative will be by to make an assessment well he did and was very very uninterested half sleep didn't understand anything about the equipment. Later he claimed after we complained that an intern at the time that was working with me made some claims that was false. Two weeks later the insurance company sent out another person an expert by their standards, but when he arrived he had only a pen and a small pad no equipment he just dictated and made small talk, at this time I was frustrated and called the insurance company again at this time they referred me to another rep in NY which him and I exchanged emails for months until he said you claim is denied for not providing the information he needed to process the claim so I ask what information here again is this companies unwillingness to deal with small business people like myself he lost the information which I will explain now. So after getting the letter of denial I wrote a letter to Hiscox claiming that another rep had dropped the ball the company replied to me saying prove it so I did and it took another three months until now to here from the company. The company also tried to play the word game claiming you said this or that trying to twist words or trying to discredit the claim.Desired Settlement: Replacement of equipment along being compensated for the time and monies lost during this issue.

This will acknowledge and respond to the Bureau's letter concerning the referenced matter that you recently forwarded to Hiscox Inc. and pertains to a property damage claim that has been resolved by the parties.

East-West Systems Solutions, Inc. ("East-West") , provides IT services to individuals and small businesses. It submitted a claim under its policy with Hiscox Insurance Company Inc. (the "Company") for the costs of repairing a failed computer server and restoring data, as well as the related loss of business income. The server was not purchased from a vendor , but was assembled by East-West's own employees in 2011.

During the Company's initial conversation with East-West's representative, he stated that the server was believed to have failed due to excessive heat during a heat wave. When the Company 's adjuster inspected the server, however, East-West's technician informed the adjuster that the motherboard on the server had failed due to wear and tear. The Company's initial investigation found that the cause of failure appeared to be either excessive heat or wear and tear , neither of which is a covered peril under the policy.

The Company retained an IT consultant to further investigate the cause of loss. The consultant, in turn , found no visible signs of physical damage and, therefore, concluded that the loss was caused by the mechanical failure of the motherboard , which is not covered under the policy. On January **, 2013, the Company sent a letter to East-West in which it declined coverage for the claimed loss.

East-West's representative contested the Company's declination and claimed that its technicians were not properly equipped to diagnose the cause of loss and that he had two reports from independent technicians that show that the loss was not due to a mechanical failure. We repeatedly asked for those reports, which were not provided.

In the end, however, the Company agreed to resolve this claim in order to avoid further time and expense given the amount at issue ($3,200) and to maintain good will with our policyholder. Copies of the Company's check and East­ West's sworn statement in proof of loss are enclosed for your review.

The Company acted reasonably , properly, and in good faith in its dealings with East-West. It did nothing wrong. Accordingly, the Company respectfully requests that the Bureau conclude that this matter is without merit and should be closed without any further action.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

I signed up for Hiscox Insurance as it was recommended to me by a client. Only to find out months later that they told me my company wasn't covered and the underwriter should have never issued me a certificate to begin with. Not 1 incident, not 1 late payment on our end, but come to find out we are now getting a letter from them saying our policy doesn't cover us for what we were told and they will not be able to renew it. How about you cancel my policy from the get go instead of charging me for a year of insurance and then telling me I was 'never' covered in the first place and sending me a letter saying its not renewable. The worst customer service and apparently the worst underwriters - who issues insurance for things they don't cover?? Seriously.. If I had 10 thumbs, they would get all 10 down.

Review: I purchased the Hiscox Professional Liability Insurance after speaking with agent who ask all initial questions that I answer. Also I explained to the agent my company I provides media services to businesses that included radio, website creations and promotional consultations.

Agent said I was approved and to call advisor any updates so I paid was emailed policy; after reading saw only physical address and Website as my profession. The same day I emailed the advisor to put my PO Box and media services as profession and was told to cancel my policy; the end.

I have never in my 57 years been so rudely treated for [redacted] Hiscox business Advisor to Cancel Request me constantly after I paid and was underwritten a policy is unfair, irresponsible and Ludacris!Desired Settlement: keep my policy in force.

[redacted] purchased Hiscox professional liability policy [redacted] from our third party agency on October *, 2013. He later called our call center where our representative realized that his business was not an eligible risk under the Company's underwriting guidelines.

After the Company canceled the policy on October *, our call center supervisor spoke with [redacted] and arranged for a different Hiscox partner to obtain a quote for him from another insurer. [redacted] purchased the policy and reportedly is pleased with the outcome.

The Company acted reasonably, properly, and in good faith in helping [redacted] with his insurance needs.

Accordingly, the Company respectfully requests that the Bureau conclude that this matter should be closed without any further action.

This company has stoop to a new low. For the past few months I have been receiving post card mail to my home regarding my business. The funny thing is the home is registered in my wife name so there is no way they would be able to find my home address. I have tried many time to call and have them remove me my company and any information regarding me out of there system but the mail keeps coming.
