The evap canister bracket was broken and strapped with a Bungee cordWe have to assume that vacuum hose was not properly routedWe asked the customer if there has been damage to the front bumper They said "only
the bumper " which was not the case the bracket from the evap canister was damaged .Customer came back for a smog had them remove the bungee cord and we smogged it again for no chargeNo I will not compensate you for Fuel

I am rejecting this response because:Their a bunch of unprofessional Jerks, that tack advantage of most people the go there. Clearly they tried to with me...If I hadn't insisted they were incorrect (that my evap hose to atmosphere wasn't going nowhere, and if they would open their eyes and look) well, lets just say I would be out more than the time, and fuel already used to get them to smog it.

Review: I contacted this business for a new engine and radiator 2/25/2013. I paid 3720. Since my purchase of service and product it has been defective!

Every since they repaired and replaced products in my vehicle. There has been consistant problems. Car shakes @ 40 mph since they put new engine in and engine light appears. The radiator they put in was suppose to be new but had a hole in it by their error and check engine light came on. They said my idle piston was at 800 & so they computerized it to 700. They said they gave me a free oil change yet still my vehicle was leaking oil and coolant. Which lead to me having to get a top off of oil and coolant from Jiffy Lube. Now after they replaced the radiator yet again my vehicle stopped on freeway with me and my kids in harms way. I called the shop they told me to bring it in and that the mechanic/owner is under a car. Yes I am beyond angry we were put in harms way. And not given the services nor product that we paid for. And whenever I call to speak to [redacted] he would tell the worker [redacted] to say he isn't in, and I would pop up there and he standing in front of me. They are very dishonest.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of all payments for service, products and inconviences. I have missed ut on work, been put into harms way, lied to, and ignored. I have contacted automotive bureau as well. I would like my refund to also be able to properly repair my vehicle as well.

Business' Initial Response

The vehicle came in as a no start condition

We found it had a defective Engine. Our job was to repair the Engine after the engine was repaired and had it running we noticed the radiator was leaking. We advise the customer it needed a Radiator she agreed for us to install a new radiator. Vehicle left the shop. She later came back for a coolant leak and check engine light.

We found that the new radiator was leaking

we warranty out the part and no cost to consumer.

As far as the check engine light on it needs additional work or a diagnostic. The check engine light could have been prior to any repairs.

Customer think just because we fix one thing we should be liable for every thing. As far as vehicle shaking vehicle has bad tires.

We have tried working with the customer but her attitude makes it hard.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Nothing was wrong with my tires and as far as my check engine light it was my crank censor and radiator. They have been lieing to me about repairs since they had my vehicle. I have had continuous leaks from radiator & now my differctial has a small leak. When I brung vehicle to this shop my engine was bad I had full diagnostic from auto mall. When I brung vehicle home it started leaking, radiator was not new as guaranteed, they didnt change my intake and I have gotten no documents of the info of the new engine warranty. They lie about being in the shop to fix it etc. I paid for service and am very dissatisfied. Cause of their mistakes and lies it has been a big inconvenience, missing work cause I had no vehicle cause they would deceive me about the due date to be ready etc.

Business' Final Response

Customer called for price on engine only 02/25/2013. We give price of $3500.00 on used engine and installation. She never mention a radiator leaking just engine was making noise and she had it diagnose by another mechanic. Vehicle arrived a our shop we also inspected the vehicle found the engine had rod bearing noise and misfiring unable to run vehicle from 2 minutes. We spoke the customer about the problem and she replied that she will get back to us if she want a tear down inspection. She had than call few weeks later and stayed to repair the engine. At which point the supplier send the wrong engine that would not work on she vehicle. We informed her that we would have to send her engine to rebuild by a machine shop cost was more than our original estimate. Since we had promised a price of $3500.00 since we are reparable shop we informed her that we would pay additional cost the engine placement. The cost to replace the engine with rebuild engine was $5200.00. Machine shop required additional parts the it took them addition two week to finish the work that needed to done. Mrs. [redacted] call and demand a rental for that two weeks of additional time. We supplied her with a rental vehicle for two weeks at our cost of $581.00 that also paid for her insurance on the vehicle we had only promise the rental charge but she had additional insurance issued by Enterprise Car Rental without our Knowledge. The engine was repaired by our shop and we found additional problems that Mrs. [redacted] never disclosed to us prior. 1. Oxygen sensor on right side was defective, 2. Radiator was Leaking 3. Vacuum hose on Evaporator Canister was leaking. It appeared the vehicle several issues and Mrs. [redacted] was aware of the issues and decided not disclose this problem upfront. We install new parts in her vehicle and test drove the vehicle for few hours to make sure the vehicle in good running order. about two later Mrs. [redacted] call and stated the vehicle had check engine light on we inspected the vehicle found that computer on the need to programed for idle relearn the service writer advise Mrs. [redacted] that we would also need to repair Plastic upper intake manifold with a updated manifold if the light comes back on. We performed that repair no charge. 2 weeks later Mrs. [redacted] call and stated vehicle was leaking coolant, our tech drove to her house inspected the vehicle and found the new radiator was leaking coolant and we had the vehicle towed from her house to our shop at shop expense. We found the radiator was defective and we replaced the radiator notice the check engine light was on so we pulled the vehicle found that we would need to repair additional part possibly on the vehicle with updated manufacture parts. Mrs. [redacted] came to pick the vehicle with very abusive words our service writers and she accused us of tampering with her vehicle we explained to her that we had no intension to do such thing and she got very abusive with our employee in front other customers has witness. Not we never had a code for crank sensor and every time she call we responded very quickly to her complaint. Our cost to repair this vehicle ran over $6300.00 invoices and we have prove to show note Mrs. [redacted] only paid $3700.00 shorted us for $20.00 on the invoice originally. Mrs. [redacted] has been not truthful about her statements so far. We have been very nice and kind for dealing with Mrs. [redacted] but this statement made by her we would not want to deal with her because of her false statement and accusation with the statement. Our employees have seen Mrs. [redacted] driving that vehicle around without any problems. Note vehicle also need front brakes front tire had a piece of rubber missing from the sidewall. She mention the only concern she had was engine light and coolant leak we address both issues. Please feel free to call us and speak with our employees to get more information how Mrs. [redacted] acting our us. We dont feel that we should refund or do any further repairs on that vehicle that is not related the engine repair.

Review: I spent over three hours getting SMOGGED.I had A [redacted] Coupon for 25.oo plus 8.25 would've been 33.ooand change...Well, the Young man there that wrote it up said" Your vehicle Failed for a Visual Inspection- But, passed the emissions Part.I said can you show me what your referring to on my car? He pointed out that there was a Hose that went nowhere(needed to be connected somewhere-and, it failed.I was flustered, but took it in stride, and hauled it home. Two days later at [redacted] I found A couple Vehicles Matching my own When to my amusement it appeared to be a (Breather Hose) he was referring to; NOT a Hose to the Atmosphere as was Written on my Paperwork. That's when my Day got Worse. After the Desk worker noted the vehicle was Failed for visual inspection he offered to re-smog (and pay 33.00)after it was repaired. What should've been a no-brainer turned into a mental (with owner/lead Tech.) boxing Contest. (He was defending the tech's Assumption THAT WRONGLY FAILED IT!)If I had just taken there original suggestion- It would've been quite Expensive to Find out- there wasn't anything wrong with my Evap Canister Hose to Atmosphere. I spent over three hours getting SMOGED.Desired Settlement: 1compensated for fuel to and from their shop.2 Acknowledgement of their obvious deceit.
