Overcharging for services. Refusing to give a quote before work commenced. Not providing an appropriate breakdown of fees charged before threatening collections.The company when asked for clarification of charges listed things like a few hours of work and spies instead of exact numbers of hours worked, how much per hour and exact supplies with bills included.

Billing Adjustment I have paid the bill but would like to see a refund of 250 dollars.
The customer was informed before we started that coming in after a non-professionals attempt at installing a highend stormdoor is unpredictable at best and until we can get a full reveal of the situation we do not know what we are dealing with.
Sometimes it is a minor fix sometimes it is a full remove and reinstall. It was explained instead of giving a "just in case" higher quote based on worse case scenario we would rather do an actual time required billing in hopes that the solution would be on the lower end.
The misalignment of the stormdoor was somewhere in between for us to fix it for her... the hours were broken as additional trips were required for newly discovered parts needed... so she was only charged for the time spent and that was lower than the potential flatrate that would have been quoted before we started.
The central Vac had outlets installed in the house but no vacuum unit in the basement. A older used unit was supplied and requested to be installed which required additional parts to make it work, which was an extra trip for parts.
Ran the new piping and mounted the vac according to the customers request. Put in a new outlet in the basement as well. It was then discovered afterwards that the 3rd floor upstairs line was not conjoined with the main floor piping as informed. That line was located and required partial disassembly of main vac line with additional connections and parts inserted... this of course was additional time, of which I only charged a reduced amount.
So the complaint of refusing to give a quote is not the situation for this specific job.
The request for additional breakdown was addressed with a similar description as above, sent to customer in an email.
Request for payment or communication was sent 2 or 3 times to the customer approx 30 and 60 days after with no reply
The final request after 4 months of non payment was a plea by us to resolve the outstanding account. She was leaving us no other options but to take it to the next level and we were trying to avoid having to go thru the collections process, it was not a threat it was a request for delinquent payment.
The customers email reply to this final request is confusing as she states that the work performed was done very well but that a bit of a mess was left behind and she just feels that she was overcharged
The request for a further discount from the customer is basically asking me to provide my service for almost free and I am challenged in doing that. The nature of these repairs required the allotted time and I had already discounted a portion of my time on the invoice original given to her.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I will accept the response only because I do not wish to take legal action. There is alot of misinformation in the statements they made, but I have to many other things in my life to spend anymore time dealing with this company.
