Review: Like the others, I wish I had read all of the other complaints first. My husband and I went into the gallery on September 20. I purchased the Jeter painting with all of the Yankees old timers for my Dad for his birthday. Since we were flying home the next day, I took him up on his offer to frame it and ship it. He said he would send it out in 2-3 days. Here it is one month later and I have not received my picture. I have left 3 voice mails and 4 emails (10/1. 10/10, 10/15, 10/20) on phone numbers/emails both on website and business card. Now my dad's birthday is two weeks away and I don't even have the picture I know he would love to give to him. My next step is to contact [redacted] to dispute the charge and request a refund. I would much rather have my picture, but at this point I don't think that is going to happen.Desired Settlement: I think the business has a responsibility to deliver my product. If not, I would like a 100% refund to my credit card.

Review: I went into visit [redacted]'s art gallery on March 24, 2013. He was showing me the game used art and said he could paint a picture of any athlete and I told him I was interested in purchasing a game used art print of Aaron Rodgers. He said he could do this for $400 and that he would save a print for me by putting 50% down. I paid the $200 plus $12.80 of sales tax for a total of $212.80. He said this would be completed by late summer of 2013. I contacted him about the status and then pushed it to fall of 2013. I went into his shop in February of 2014 requesting a refund and he said he was almost completed with it. He said he would send me a picture of the art's status. Of course, I did not receive anything. I have emailed him multiple times since then with no response. I respectfully request a refund of $212.80 since it is obvious that this will not be completed. I have to say, I am VERY disappointed with the way this guy runs his business.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $212.80 since my product has not been delivered.

Review: I bought two paintings for my dad at [redacted] art shop in Laguna Beach on Sept 3rd 2014. Mr [redacted] stated his company would ship to Boston and I paid the extra 25$ to send. The total cost was 175.00. My dad hasnt recieved the pictures and it is now two weeks later. I have called and left two voice mail messages and have gone by his studio twice on a Saturday before three pm(busy tourist time) but the store has been closed. I am worried that he skipped town. He wont return my calls.Desired Settlement: Please send the pictures with an apology note to my dad for causing him to not recieve a birthday present from his daughter in California.

Review: Purchased a t-shirt that was going to have artwork imposed on the front of it. Charged my debit card at the store on April 8th. Have receipt via email. Store was going to ship finished shirt to my address in Michigan. Store owner will not answer or return my many phone calls and t-shirt has not arrived.Desired Settlement: I want the t-shirt that I have already purchased (and paid for).

Review: My wife and I were on vacation went to Hobrecht Sports Art and bought a picture of [redacted] which was on the wall. We paid $75 for the picture and another $25 for him to ship it to us in Louisiana. This was the middle of February and he said we should get it within 2 weeks. I've called the owner, [redacted], on his cell phone and business line several times and he will not return my calls. I see on the Revdex.com this is not the first time this has happened. I own a small business and cannot imagine doing this to a customer.Desired Settlement: I JUST WANT THE PICTURE OR SEND MY MONEY BACK. I JUST WANT COMMUNICATION.

Review: local artist [redacted] at 350 n.coast hwy.. contracted to finish and ship art valued and paid for at $1500. he has done neither in 6 months

on july 23,2013 I contracted [redacted] at [redacted] sports art at 350 n.coast hwy. in laguna beach to finish art titled Bonzai pipeline, and ship it to me at my residence in colorado. I made the cardinal mistake of paying for it in full. After 3 months I started a dialog via e-mail on its whereabouts. After 3 more months of correspondence he refuses to deliver art or refund $1500Desired Settlement: since he has angered me so. I no longer respect his art, and would like a full refund

Response:

Revdex.com of OC, I visit California annually from Colorado. I usually purchase a piece of art on my visit. I met [redacted] in his shop at "[redacted] Sports Art, LLC". Located at 350 N. Coast Hwy. Laguna Beach, Ca. 92651. We struck up a conversation, he had an unfinished piece. He said he'd finish it , and ship it to me shortly. I made the mistake of paying him in full, $1500. He took the check, sent me an invoice, and we had a friendly goodbye. Followed by friendly e-mails 3 months later, which continued for 2 more months of correspondence. When I finally said, "enough is enough" e-mails stopped, I contacted you, and now start the arduous task of learning the California Civil Court procedure. Not to mention the expense, and finding aid of a lawyer. Thanks [redacted] C.

Review: My situation seems to be like others that have filed complaints. I was in CA in July on a business trip. On July 24th I stopped into this shop to look around and decided to purchase a painting. I had no way to get it home on the plane so the owner said he would ship it to me to the following day and I would have it in about a week. I have not received the shipment to date. I have called and left numerous voicemails with no return call. I also sent him a message through his Business [redacted] page and he has not responded to that either. I tried to email him but that was returned undeliverable. I would either like my painting shipped to me as promised or my money refunded.Desired Settlement: I would like my order shipped immediately or my money refunded

Review: Ordered product. Promised delivery. No delivery!

On Dec. 9, 2013, I verbally ordered and paid for 4 t-shirts from Hobrecht. He promised me a delivery date of 12/15/13. It is now Jan. 17, 2014 and I still do not have the products. He has my $120.00. I have left approximately 40 phone messages on his answering machine. He called me back and apologized on my voice mail, but to date I have not received any product.Desired Settlement: I want the shirts I ordered and paid for!!

Review: My complaint sounds very like others that have complained. My wife and I were in Laguna on April 30th and I purchased 5 prints from Hobrecht Sports Art. I didn't have a way to get the large art home with me on the plane, so [redacted] said he would ship it for me the next day. That was 21 days ago. I have called, sent texts and emails and no response. I have the receipts for my purchases and I am sure shipping doesn't take three weeks.I wish I would have read the Revdex.com postings from people about this same thing happening to them. I would not have bought any art there at all.I never would have thought someone with a gallery on the PCH in downtown Laguna would act this way as a business owner. I hope to receive my art ASAP or a refund.Desired Settlement: I simply want him to ship my paintings I purchased OR send my money back to me.

Review: We purchased a piece of art on Dec 5th and it was supposed to mailed out on Dec. 8th-Dec. 11th (i.e. when our credit card was charged) and now on Jan 8th the recipient (it was a gift) still has not received the purchase. We have called [redacted], the owner and artist, numerous times and texted him. There is no way to e-mail him that we can find. The owner of the business, [redacted], has texted back a couple of times that it was mailed out but he has failed to produce a tracking number or resolve this in any way. He doesn't call back and doesn't ever answer his phone. We really wanted this art as a gift for the holidays and we purchased it for a group of people to give as a holiday gift. It is embarrassing that we still don't have it. We will seek a refund if we have to, however, we really would like the artwork. We wanted to support this business because his art is cool, however, I am now wondering if it a legitimate business at all. I wish he would just be honest if he is backlogged. We could really support his art but we need a product.Desired Settlement: We will accept a refund if we have to, however, we would really like the art to mailed to address we have requested. We also would like responses in writing. We desire appropriate customer service.
