I am rejecting this response because:Regarding the garage floor, the statement from Mr *** saying that I refused saw cut joints is a lieHoette pushed zip strips and ended installing before my final agreementI am not in the concrete business, therefore, if a contractor suggests using this product, I have a reasinable expectation that it would provide a quality outcomeIt did not as the cracks, or control joints, became jagged and the concrete was breaking up in some areas along the cracksThere were only 2-optionsTear out the entire floor a report using saw cut joints or caulk the cracksI reluctantly agreed to the latter because *** *** said they would not replace the floorSo I really had no choice.As for the cracked sidewalk slab, there was no control joint at allInteresting that *** *** said there was when he never saw the installationNor did he see the garage floor***'s brother, ***, was the one that came out to deal with the floor issue and he was the one that refused to replace the the sidewalk slab and never came out to even look at it.They now say they'll be out this weekWe'll seeI have all correspondence and pictures to support my input.

In response to complaint ID# 11423899; While removing the existing garage floor, the customer was asked what kind of control joint to use for the garage floor.  The customer did not like the grooved control joint because of too much buildup in the joint.  The customer also refused...

sawcut joints.  The customer chose the cracker joint (aka "zip strip")which is widely used on most new home construction today.  When the floor cracked open above the zip strips (which is the purpose of the product), the customer did not like how it looked.  For no charge, we went in and sealed the cracks with an epoxy based caulk material.  The customer claimed to be satisfied with what we had done to resolve the zip strip cracks.  We believe the crack in the sidewalk was because of frost lifting the sidewalk this past winter.  We placed control joints in the sidewalk to try and control where the concrete will crack.  In this case, it chose to crack the opposite direction that we had placed a control joint.  We have been in contact with the home owner and we are going to replace the cracked blocks of sidewalk.  This year marks my company's 70th year in business and we take pride in our reputation and we make sure the customer is well taken care of.  We try to provide quality, reliability, and performance on every job we perform.  Feel free to contact my office any time. Sincerely, [redacted]PresidentHoette Concrete Construction Company[redacted]@hoetteconcrete.com[redacted]
