Review: I originally purchased a 2007 Ford Expedition from Hoffman Auto Group in November 2015. I had to immediately get gas as the fuel light came on as I was driving home. Once I got gas the car would not start again. Ugh! Luckily I got a jump and it seemed it was just needing a battery. Now the truck is basically dead, with less than 2800 miles put on the vehicle, and needing a repair that will cost thousands and I have already spent over $1100. When I originally bought the vehicle I asked for a warranty but was told that [redacted] does not finance warranties and I would need to pay cash for the warranty. Obviously after putting $3k down I did not have cash for a warranty. In light of the mechanical issue I called [redacted] to find out if what I was told was true and was informed it absolutely was not true! In addition I had previously asked for the vehicle inspection report that they said they had when they checked out the vehicle. I was told they "archived" the files and they would call me when they got the file backing the office. I never heard back from them. Now that my vehicle cannot be driven and needs thousands of dollars worth of work and I was told I could not buy a warranty, I contacted Hoffman's for a resolution. I was told that "management" will call me sometime Monday but right now they are not offering any sort of resolution. I feel that I was totally mislead by this company and that they misrepresented the finance company. [redacted] has asked me to contact them again with the status of this issue and well as recommending that I contact [redacted] and make a complaint about the dealer. I also asked to see/hear the video Hoffman supposedly had when I signed my documents to prove they told me that [redacted] would not finance the warranty and have not been given a date or time to do so.Desired Settlement: I want to exchange my 2007 Ford expedition if it is possible but I am not sure how financing another vehicle works, turn the truck into Hoffman and get my $3000 back plus the $1100 for the repair or have Hoffman pay to have the Motor replaced which is what I am told needs to be done. If I had a warranty, which they denied me, I would not be coming out of pocket thousands of dollars.

Response:
In regards of the claims & complaints below, we have tried to please this costumer by all means, instead she & her hired friends went ballistic on the net firing complaints. And then she gave us the ultimatum to return the car or exchange it with another vehicle, which is a thing we do not do especially on a car was sold 4 months ago!
The car was sold AS IS & Hoffman Auto Group has no repair responsibly. Having her car broke down is just a nature of a used car. She denied her 2 days contract cancellation option is a proof that the car was in good running condition.
Attached are signed contracts proofing our statements, what she has to prove hers?
Regards,
Review: Sold me a car that was not inspected before sale.
Had the car three and a half mounths and I need new Roters already this car was sold to me with bad Roters I should not need new Roters already I put maybe 2000 miles on this car if that, not trying to get stuff done to my car for free this is something that should have been done before I bought the car. There telling me I bought this car as is not once did they mention this car was being sold as is why would I finance a car that is being sold as is,? I thought I was going to a quality dealer for a quality car not the case at all. This is just one of many problems I have had with my car and with the dealer..Desired Settlement: I would like my Roters replaced at no charge.

Mr. [redacted], because your complaint was filed generally under Hoffman Auto Group we will need more specific information in order to investigate your claim, as we have 11 different locations. At which dealership did you purchase your vehicle, which location did you attempt to get your vehicle repaired at? Can you please also supply us with the VIN as well. With these three pieces of information we will then be able to pull up your customer file and transaction history and be able to better service you. Thank you for your patience.

I got my car from Hoffman h lot east Hartford ct, if you subtract all the time I had to bring my car in to hoffman to get fixed I had this car for about 3 months, as I write this my car is at Hoffman ford east Hartford ct, because a part they replaced in April has fallen apart and off my car, and I was just about to pull off with my 3 month old daughter in the car glad it happened in the parking lot and not while driving on the highway cause that could have landed me and my daughter in a bad accident , and we would of had a bigger problem than my rotors, but let me guess it's because wear and tear ... I do not have the vin with me because my car is at Hoffman but its a

The claim made that the vehicle was not inspected before sale is an absolutely false and un-investigated claim by Mr. [redacted]. Hoffman is a trustworthy dealer and his vehicle had a safety inspection on January 8, 2013 at which a time [redacted] Auto Group spent $1,784.73 getting the vehicle up to code. A complete rear brake job was done, including replacement of pads and rotors. Connecticut State law mandates that at least 50% material must be remaining on brake pads for sale. The front brakes had more than 50% material remaining on them at that time, so were left alone.
Regarding Mr. [redacted]'s request for Hoffman to absorb the payment of replacing his rotors and brakes. This request is denied. We have on file his purchase agreement from February 22, 2013 that reads in all caps under the "Terms of Warranty" section: "THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD "AS IS". THIS MEANS THAT YOU WILL LOSE YOUR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS NEEDED AFTER SALE. ....Under the full description of the "AS IS" description is [redacted] signature who is listed as a purchaser with [redacted], of which both were given copies and signed that they received a copy of the above statement and agreed with it upon purchase.

All I have to say is word of mouth goes a long way we both know my front rotors should have been replaced if they were 50% was remaining they would still be good now, I rarely drive the car, but it is wut it is at this point, like I said word Of mouth goes a long way and I will get the word out.
Review: I consider this a sales fraud with false representation. Hoffman Audi was deceitful. In March 2014 I made an offer on the car and they declined. Hoffman called me back and they wanted the deal. After the price was agreed, they said there was a $495 dealer fee. I told them that was not part of the agreed price and declined. They told me they would split the fee with me and I agreed to the purchase. I asked for the exact financing rate and told them I wanted the advertised 1.9% financing for 72 months. I was told, we will take care of you. I was told to pick up the car in 6 days. I contacted the dealership in about 3 days to confirm the financing rate and terms. I received no answer. I contacted the dealer again, one day before the pickup with a simple message either call me back or I will not pick up the car. I then received a phone call back (the day before the pickup) and again was told no problem, we will get you the best financing. I outlined that I had a business meeting later that day and did not have lots of time. I was told that the terms of the financing would be 2.9% over 72 months. I outlined that I was expecting 1.9% and that was advertised. The business manager [redacted] then told me that the best he could do was 2.9%, so I then responded that I would get my own financing. At which point he told me that he COULD offer me 1.9%. How does my credit offer change within the course of 2 minutes? No answer. The deal is finalized and I agree to the terms. I then continue to sign many other forms [redacted], insurance, etc,. Finally he presents me with the contract form and the number is off slightly from my expectation. It seems that they added a $195 fee for Vin Etching! According to the sales manager this is standard practice and it was required for insurance in CT. I later found out this was a complete lie. For these reasons I am placing a complaint!!!Desired Settlement: I would respectfully request a refund of the $195 fee for vin etching which I did not request, nor was I told about in advance.
