I am rejecting this response because:
I would like Hofmeister to clarify the terms of the refund that I discussed with [redacted] on...
2/24/2015.The refund terms are as follows.Hofmeister Plumbing will issue a refund of a deposit made to the company on 2/17/14 for a total amount of $1490 (one thousand four hundred ninety dollars). Hofmeister will issue the refund in the form of three checks, two for $500 (five hundred dollars) and one for $490 (four hundred dollars) over the course of three weeks from 2/24/15. The final payment of $490 (four hundred ninety dollars) will be made on 3/7/15. This was confirmed with Suzzanne on 2/24/2015 and agreed to by me.If Hofmeister confirms these terms then I will accept this resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] is not sending a free replacement to me without charging me. They, understandably, said it is not necessary to scratch it to take it off and that whoever scratched it is responsible, not them. I have a signed invoice from the Hoffmeister employee stating he would order the replacement and have it shipped directly to my house. See attached invoice. Although this person may have 33 years working with diverters, another local plumbing company came and PROPERLY re-installed it within 2 minutes. I wonder how many years of experience that person had? I had to pay that plumbing company the $125 service fee for a 2 minute job to finish the job that Hoffmeister did not complete. He had no issues re-installing and said whoever had difficulties with it must not have been in the business for long.So again, I am looking for the replacement piece that HOFFMEISTER scratched and said they would REPLACE in addition to a $200 refund since I paid Hoffmeister $275. The piece they replaced was $75 however they were not able to properly re-install the handle and I had to hire someone else. Hoffmeister may blame it on the age however, again, I have another local plumbing company that did it within 2 minutes.

$60.00. Then on 10/21/2014 customer called Hofmeister with a different problem, this time customer fan wheel started presenting problems. Parts were still manufacture warranty but our labor warranty expired on 11/27/2013. Hofmeister Plumbing charged customer a service call to replace fan wheel, Our Technician Fabio was there 3 hour at a discount rate of $55.00 an hour. On May 12, 2015 customer called and advise the fan wheel went, I expmained to customer that the fan wheel we don't manufacture only install. She didn't understand. Hofmeister gave customer a price of $92.00 an hour totaling $275.00 plus tax for the labor LABOR repair only, PARTD still under warranty. Customer refused to the repair. Thank youHarold H

Review: On 2/17/14 I contacted Hofmeister Plumbing to come to my house and take a give me an estimate on a replacement of a boiler and repair of burst pipes. ** (no last name given) arrived and quoted me, telling me that I would need to put a deposit down to get the quote for the work to be done. I made a deposit of $1490 on a $7490 estimate. Because this was damage to our home we needed to go through the insurance company to get our funds. This too much longer then expected and eventually my wife and I decided to sell the house as is. I reached out the ** on November 26th 2014 to tell him that I would like a refund of the deposit and explained that we would not be going forward with the work. I was informed that there was a $275 non refundable fee for the estimate, which I was not made aware of. After ** told me that I would not get the full deposit back I had my lawyer review the contract (which I have can provide), she could not find anything, stating that any portion or my deposit was non refundable. She suggested that we avoid a lawsuit as it would be more expensive then the amount we were trying to recuperate, but suggested that we contact you.
Because we have to do other projects in our new home, I needed to take the $1215 the offered back so I can pay for the work we are having done.Desired Settlement: I would like the additional $275 sent back to me. I feel I am entitled to the full amount as the company did absolutely no work on my property, and on legal review of the contract I signed, there is nothing stating that I should not be able to recuperate my full deposit.

Review: On 8/13/15, a technician from Hofmeister Plumbing came to my home to repair a leaky shower handle. He needed assistance removing the handle from the wall, so he had to leave and return the following day, 8/14/15, with help from another technician (and I believe the owner). While removing the handle from the wall, they scratched it. Unfortunately, they were also unable to reattach it properly once the job was completed. I did not know that when I paid them with a check totalling $275.00. When they left and I went to the bathroom and noticed, I immediately called the company. They said that was the 'best they can do' and it was 'difficult' for them; the owner was very unpleasant as if he completed a satisfactory job. I asked for the service fee to be refunded but the original technician came back on 8/17/15 to try to re-attach it again. He was however, unsuccessful. At that time, I had asked him to replace the [redacted] part that was scratched on 8/14. He signed the original invoice stating that he would order the replacement and have it sent to my home. He said it will take 7-10 days. On 9/8/15, I texted the technician and let him know it still wasn't received; he confirmed he was going to look into it. On 9/11, I asked for a status and did not receive a response. Since then, in addition to having a scratched handle, I had to pay an additional $125 to have ANOTHER plumbing company successfully reinstall the scratched handle (which took them 2 minutes to do).Desired Settlement: I would like the replacement part of the scratched handle ([redacted]; polished chrome) and a refund of $200. The remaining $75 can be kept to cover the cost of the item they replaced within the handle.

While Changing the Cartridge in an old [redacted] shower divertor, because of the oldness and the way it is fussed together, you have no choice but grab it with channel locks. There was a little scratch on the divertor handle when I was done, which you have no choice but to doit this way. I made the customer well aware of the situation. I told them if they want a new handle becuase the scratch was tinny, to contact [redacted] directly and they will sned it for free. I have 33 year experience with divertors and the way they work plus been in business family owned over 40 year.

Review: We hired Hofmeister Plumbing who installed a [redacted] Heating and Cooling unit due to Hurricane Sandy on November 20, 2012. The unit has a 10 year warranty and Hofmeister Plumbing gave us a one year labor warranty. Within 2 years, the unit started making a loud noise and on October 21, 2014, the fan wheel had to be replaced which was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but of course I had to pay $176.55 for the labor cost.
On May 25, 2015, I turned on the cooling unit and I heard a loud noise again- like the time before the fan wheel had been replaced. I called Hofmeister Plumbing and spoke with Fabio (the owner and installer) that to even have a diagnosis done – I would have to pay a fee plus the labor of any part replacement. I asked why did I have to pay for the labor cost again if it is not even a year since the fan wheel had been replaced. I was advised that there was no warranty on the receipt for the fan wheel replacement so I would have to pay.
On July 7,2015, I had to call a professional technician to check the unit and found out that the nut in the fan/blower wheel was loose and had to be tightened. The cost was $249.42.
Hofmeister Plumbing should be held accountable for the additional labor cost I incurred.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the cost $249.42

I am rejecting this response because:Hofmeister Plumbingcharged very well for the original installation and cost for a [redacted] heating andcooling system unit. And, labor cost was paid every time he stepped foot in myhouse. The totaltime spent between the removal and installation of the fan wheel was 1 hour and 10 minutes. And, to have a fan wheelreplaced within a 2 year period is very questionable – the unit is not even 3years old. The main issueis to have paid for labor cost again for a problem we thought hadbeen resolved and for it to have been a loose nut is inexcusable. So I do understand very well that HofmeiseterPlumbing needs to take any responsibility for workmanship.
