Holder Heating & Cooling Reviews (1)

For two years they performed many repairs but were never able to have it pass inspection. They haven't had it pass inspection and won't return calls. In the summer of 2012, Holder Heating and Cooling installed a[redacted] system Model #[redacted] Serial #[redacted] with a two year warranty. The system had frequent problems and they had to come out for frequent repairs:09/26/12 - Brase in unit and wire in temp. sensor(later found out brasing wasn't done correctly)10/10/12 - Removed factory jumper between R & O(this was supposed to be done at installation)11/09/13 - Replaced defrost board and o/o t-stat(noted "64 degree OD temp and would not open")01/09/13 - Defrost board still no opening properly(something about taking power away from strips)So that was year one. I believe that they were over more often than that, but I think we lost some of the paperwork from them. At this point we consulted a third party who said, "They had to come out more than once to get a[redacted] working? That's a good system. If it's not working after two visits, they are doing something seriously wrong."Year Two:07/08/13 - "System not cooling due to door on the airhandler not making contact with door switches"11/13/13 - Found no power to Air Handler.(This was the easy one. He just changed a fuse.)02/11/14 - Found lug in air handler loose.(He changed the fuse again charged us this time)Again, I believe that there are some invoices that we were missing, because at this point it stopped working again. We called in another HVAC company for a second opinion. He inspected it and described it as "a mess up there" and told us that they definitely did not install the system right including things like the braising, the insulation, and the fittings were all done wrong. He said that they *might* be able to get away with it depending on the inspector."Inspector?" we asked. At this point we learned that Holder was responsible for having it inspected, which they never did.At this point I refused to have any more repairmen come in, and insisted that a manager come out to look at it. He did and admitted that the system was installed badly. He said that the people who installed it no longer worked for Holder, and he would have the system replaced. This they did (and this is one of the visits that I don't have the invoice for) with the new system being a[redacted] Model #[redacted] Serial #[redacted].At this point it was working much better than before, and we thought it was done. So far we haven't had any problems other than having to change a fuse (which seems to happen more often than I would expect), but they still have not had the system pass inspection. The inspector came out once and gave them a list of things to repair. We should have gotten a copy of the repairs needed, but they included the evaporator coil, condenser fan motor, and something about a "secondary drip".The last time they sent someone out was 06/13/14 which was right before our two-year warranty ran out. Since then I have been calling monthly and now weekly, and no one returns my calls. So we currently have a non-inspected HVAC unit that seems to be working, but there are things about it that need to be fixed. These are things that one would need to know more about engineering than I do (who knows what a "secondary drip" is?) which is why inspections are legally necessary. They know what repairs need to be made, and they refuse to return my phone calls. I can only assume that this is because they have no interest in finishing the job that we paid for and they started,This job is not complete until it passes inspection.Desired SettlementThey need to have the system inspected and make any necessary repairs until it passes inspection.
