Hole In One Drywall Repair Reviews (%countItem)

On April 27th,2020, I paid a plumber over $600 to repair and upgrade the pipes and valves of our bath and shower. (He had to break through the old tiles) When his work was completed, the plumber told myself and my wife that after we'd have the new tiles installed, he would come back and install the shower trim. On April 30th, 2020, Mr. John *** of Hole In One Drywall Repair stopped by our home to give us an estimate. (I was not home when Mr. spoke to my wife) According to my wife, he examined the area of the shower wall and quoted a price of $325.00. On May 1st, 2020, Mr. replaced the tiles. Unfortunately, he waited until the job was completed to tell us that bathroom tile was not his specialty. Or in his own words, "We don't usually do this". Several hours later, I took a closer look at the new tiles and noticed that there were gaps between each of them. I called the plumber who was at our home on the 27th to come out and install the shower trim. Upon his arrival, he saw the area of the shower wall where Mr. had worked and told us that he could not do the installation because the newly replaced tiles were covering the valves. According to the plumber, the only way he could install the trim was to break through the new tiles along with the possible risks of doing further damage. (To the new tiles, cracking or falling) He too noticed the gaps between the tiles and stated that moisture could seep through. We're extremely disappointed in Mr. because he had the opportunity to say, "NO, this isn't my specialty". We wouldn't be in this predicament if he had been upfront from the very beginning. I attempted to call him that same evening of May 1st at 6:17 p.m. There was no answer from Mr.. I left a brief, yet detailed voice message at which he's failed to respond.

Replying to the complaint that was filed about the repair issues. First of all, this is the first complaint we have EVER received. Most of our customers have two numbers to call. My cell and my wife’s cell. I never had dealings with *** until We arrived to do the job. When *** wife called me about the repairs I told her several times that we did not do that type of work. The cement board behind the tiles and drywall work is our specialty as the name of our company is Hole In One Drywall Repair. We have done work for this family in the past and the reason she wanted us to attempt the job was that she appreciated our work. I would have had no problem going back and fixing the issue but WE ARE NOT tilers which was told to *** wife. I never received a voicemail. I go thru my voicemails daily. AND if *** wanted this resolved he or his wife should have contacted me immediately. I’m disappointed that *** would go the Revdex.com instead of trying to get a hold of me more than the one time that he stated. This seems like miscommunication between *** and his wife About the fact that we do not do this type of work. This could have been easily resolved with a second phone call. A refund is out of the question as this is definitely a miscommunication between *** and his wife.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

***

There was no miscommunication between me and my wife. If she was told "several" times by Mr. that bath and tile was beyond his specialty, she would have passed this information on to me. It's too great of a risk to hire someone who's stepping beyond their expertise. Especially when it comes to our plumbing. Mr. had every opportunity to reject our offer to hire him. I appreciate Mr. response however, his explanation is completely irrelevant and incomprehensible. He wasn't forced or threatened to accept the job. All he had to say was, "No". If the sum of money paid to Mr. was more than $325.00, I would have taken my complaint to small claims court. However, it's a lengthy process which takes nearly a year to resolve a legal issue and I don't have the time or patience to take such measures again. And in regards to my request for a refund, Mr. can keep the money. Furthermore, I attempted to contact him several hours later after completion of his work. I know for a fact that I left a voice message that very same day. Oh well, lesson learned. I'm not rejecting his response to keep my complaint active. I just want him to know it's over and I'll be more proactive with my decisions as to whom I hire in the future.
