My wife and I bought a Outback 312BH Travel Trailer from Holiday World in Willis TX last March 2015; we paid $36,with an extended warrantyIt’s been exactly year, and today we were back thinking about buying a used RV However they told us that the Travel Trailer is now worth less than $22K wholesale Now we have only had this trailer out times since we bought it and it is already depreciated by over $14,I had looked up our Travel Trailer on NADA which had the average retail value at $so I expected to be a bit upside down and finance in the difference, I was thinking $5K to $7K But when I explained this and its rapid depreciation to Robert the Finance Manager, he said that he was doing me a favor to even offer $22,that it’s really not even worth that He was only offering that to keep us as a customer and earn future businessBut that if I went anywhere else I would never even get that Now I know that other RV dealerships are selling my exact same Travel Trailer used for $27k - $32K and the sales guy admitted that they would sell it for that as well So I knew they could come up on the $22k offer a little bit and still make a few grand Not to mention that they were about to sell me another RV and make even more moneySo what I was expecting them to say was something like – “listen you’re a bit upside down, but let us give you the max we can and still make a little for our trouble So we’ll give you “X” and come down on the used RV to “X” in order to help you out as a loyal customer and soften the blow of the depreciation”Now I’m not an it, I have had many RV’s and I know they depreciate badly over the first few years and I was willing to pay a price for that I also know that there was a deal to be made here, where we both could have walked away feeling good They make money and I would have felt they feel my painBut instead Robert made me feel like I wasn’t worth his time, but he’d do me this favor What a nice guy, good luck with that repeat business!

My wife and I bought a 2015 Outback 312BH Travel Trailer from Holiday World in Willis TX last March 2015; we paid $36,956.77 with an extended warranty.
It’s been exactly 1 year, and today we were back thinking about buying a used RV. However they told us that the Travel Trailer is now worth less than $22K wholesale. Now we have only had this trailer out 2 times since we bought it and it is already depreciated by over $14,000.
I had looked up our Travel Trailer on NADA which had the average retail value at $29.500 so I expected to be a bit upside down and finance in the difference, I was thinking $5K to $7K. But when I explained this and its rapid depreciation to Robert the Finance Manager, he said that he was doing me a favor to even offer $22,000 that it’s really not even worth that. He was only offering that to keep us as a customer and earn future business. But that if I went anywhere else I would never even get that. Now I know that other RV dealerships are selling my exact same Travel Trailer used for $27k - $32K and the sales guy admitted that they would sell it for that as well. So I knew they could come up on the $22k offer a little bit and still make a few grand. Not to mention that they were about to sell me another RV and make even more money.
So what I was expecting them to say was something like – “listen you’re a bit upside down, but let us give you the max we can and still make a little for our trouble. So we’ll give you “X” and come down on the used RV to “X” in order to help you out as a loyal customer and soften the blow of the depreciation”.
Now I’m not an it, I have had many RV’s and I know they depreciate badly over the first few years and I was willing to pay a price for that. I also know that there was a deal to be made here, where we both could have walked away feeling good. They make money and I would have felt they feel my pain.
But instead Robert made me feel like I wasn’t worth his time, but he’d do me this favor. What a nice guy, good luck with that repeat business!
