Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because they sold our item without authorizationEven the contract language that they cite indicates that they only have authorization to sell items after they have provided an appraisalThey never gave us an appraisal until after they sold the itemAdditionally, they lost another item and did not compensate us for itThe $they gave us was for the item that they sold without authorizationThere was no discussion that it also applied to the lost itemJust more dishonesty on their part Sincerely, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] , It is always unfortunate when we have an unhappy customer However, we did our best to satisfy your requests We complied in all respects with our contractual requirements upon selling items and even paid more than required for the one item soldAs our form clearly states, “As soon as we appraise your items, we will tag them and make them available for saleIf you leave the store, you will not have the option of declining our offer or reclaiming your itemsThis means it is possible that your items will be sold before you return to pick up your paymentDo you authorize us to appraise, purchase and sell your items at the price the computer sets?” This was signed and dated by your wife who initiated the transactionAfter reviewing video surveillance, we see our Employee spent over minutes explaining our process Again, we did our best to accommodate you and your wife by returning items and paying above and beyond our %for the one item that sold Your item was priced at $and we paid $in cash For the lost item referenced, it was pair of boys size shorts that we factored into our payout In addition to this payout, we offered your wife to select any other pair of shorts in our store She declinedIn conclusion, we feel this matter is closed Respectfully, Holladay Kid to Kid

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meAfter speaking with the manager/owner, she was able to resolve the issueAppears it was just lack of communication on the part of her employees which I brought up to herOnly a few of our items were picked to buy and the remainder was going to be donated even though that is not what we had indicatedThe manager did forget to call us but that is okI appreciate that she took our issue seriously and allowed to retrieve the items they did not want and even provided us with a store creditShe has proven to be a responsible owner that cares about her customers and I thank her for this Sincerely, [redacted]

I spoke with *** prior to seeing this complaint I called him personally after seeing a note my staff had left that he was unhappy with his experience I went to the store and pulled all of the merchandise that we had purchased from him and offered to reverse the transaction and give
his items back as well as the items we didn't purchase After consulting with his wife he let me know that they would like to keep the money offered and would be in to pick up his non-purchased items as well I added a $store credit to their account in hopes that they will come in and shop/sell again I was glad to get the opportunity to speak with him and think this was resolved with both parties content We strive to give great customer service and hope that *** and his wife will come in again.Sarah K***Owner- Kid to Kid Holladay

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. After speaking with the manager/owner, she was able to resolve the issue. Appears it was just lack of communication on the part of her employees which I brought up to her. Only a few of our items were picked to buy and the remainder was going to be donated even though that is not what we had indicated. The manager did forget to call us but that is ok. I appreciate that she took our issue seriously and allowed to retrieve the items they did not want and even provided us with a store credit. She has proven to be a responsible owner that cares about her customers and I thank her for this.

Mr. [redacted], It is always unfortunate when we have an unhappy customer.  However, we did our best to satisfy your requests.  We complied in all respects with our contractual requirements upon selling items and even paid more than required for the one item sold. As our form clearly states, ...

“As soon as we appraise your items, we will tag them and make them available for sale. If you leave the store, you will not have the option of declining our offer or reclaiming your items. This means it is possible that your items will be sold before you return to pick up your payment. Do you authorize us to appraise, purchase and sell your items at the price the computer sets?” This was signed and dated by your wife who initiated the transaction. After reviewing video surveillance, we see our Employee spent over 10 minutes explaining our process.  Again, we did our best to accommodate you and your wife by returning items and paying above and beyond our %40 for the one item that sold.  Your item was priced at $59.99 and we paid $50.00 in cash.  For the lost item referenced, it was pair of boys size 5 shorts that we factored into our payout.  In addition to this payout, we offered your wife to select any other pair of shorts in our store.  She declined. I am rejecting this response because they sold our item without authorization. Even the contract language that they cite indicates that they only have authorization to sell items after they have provided an appraisal. They never gave us an appraisal until after they sold the item. Additionally, they lost another item and did not compensate us for it. The $50 they gave us was for the item that they sold without authorization. There was no discussion that it also applied to the lost item. Just more dishonesty on their part.
