Several years ago, my husband and I hired Holliday Heating to install our Geo-Thermal system at a cost of over $20,000. The process went well, and the installers were great! Recently, our "Water Furnace" unit failed... it was determined the compressor had gone out. We were immediately told Water Furnace was aware of the issue with our specific unit and would replace at no cost... This did not occur as we also learned, the 10 year warranty we were told we had, was actually only 5. Thru the course of several conversations with the owner, [redacted], he proceeded to advise, Water Furnace had chosen not to alert customers that owned these units and just sat quietly and "hoped" all the warranties would expire. When questioning [redacted] as to why he, himself, did not give us the courtesy of advising us we were one of these unlucky victims with this particular unit.. he said, that was not his job! In speaking directly with Water Furnace, they vehemently deny [redacted]'s claim. Not only do I believe [redacted] acted in a completely unprofessional manner regarding our furnace, his [redacted] comments regarding people I work with, was to say the least, shocking. Although our experience with the installers was positive, the owners level of dishonesty and overall behavior with regards to this issue, is inexcusable.

I called Holliday Heating for a quote to replace the whole system in my older home. The office staff was helpful every time I call throughout the process and the options for replacement made me feel like they did a thorough job quoting. The install crew was polite and clean. The salesperson followed up after the job was complete to see if I was satisfied. I feel comfortable recommending Holliday Heating to anyone and will continue to use them in the future.

Review: Three months ago this company installed a wall mounted air conditioning/ heating system for approximately $6,000. The estimate installation and work was done on time and to good standard and they kept to their projected cost estimate. However, 1 month ago we had some landscaping done and needed the external part of the unit disconnected for about two weeks and then reconnected once the landscaping was completed. I talked to them over the phone and they assured me that I needed their technicians to do the work properly. They told me that as long as we weren't relocating the unit it shouldn't cost more than a few hundred dollars. They came and disconnected the unit in about 30 mins and then hung out talking to me for another 30 mins. Then they showed up one week later to see if they could reinstall it even though I had called and told them it would be another week before they could. They stayed about 15 mins that time and informed me that they couldn't have reinstalled it anyway because they didn't have the right guy or the right equipment. Finally they came and reconnected the unit one week later. They had told me that it would take about 2 hours to do this. I didn't know their hourly rate, but all this seemed fine at the time. Then I got the bill for $1,214.72. As you can imagine, I was very confused when I read the itemized bill and saw 7 hours of labor listed for the removal and re-Install. At $135/hr this came to $945 plus $172 for parts (which I don't dispute). So I called and asked how three hours of work can turn into seven and was told that the $135/hr rate started from when the technicians leave their shop. We live at least 30 mins away from their location. So according to them 4 of those hours were due to travel to and from our house. I understand a service fee for each appointment, but their travel costs were more than the actual service work itself. They agreed to knock off one hour the time because the second visit was unscheduled, but that was it and they resent us an invoice for $1067. They claim that their policy for people who live out of their local service area is to charge the full technician fee for travel time as well. This was never explained to us, and their verbal quote of a couple hundred dollars obviously didn't take this into account.

You will know exactly what your repair costs will be upfront."Desired Settlement: I request that another 3 hours of travel time be removed from the removal and re-install labor fee. We should not be paying exorbitant fees for their travel time!
