Hollis Contracting

Review: Micheal H[redacted] was paid to repair my front steps by cementing over the existing crumbling steps with a cement product to stabilize the steps and make them smooth and presentable. The job was done sloppily and the edges were left rough and a hazard for older people to walk down the steps because they were rough and uneven.

I complained immediately about the job and Hollis agreed to return and make the job right, but after repeated calls and promises, he will not return.Desired Settlement: I want a finished job with completely smooth surfaces and professional rounded over step edges and curbs, or my $500.00 back.

Review: The contractor failed to render services as promised verbally or written in the contract. The contractor poured a walkway approximately 45’ in which three sections holds puddles, they have yet to return to cure the concrete which was poured the first week of April, he said he would be back the following week. They were to strip and sand the railings, prime and repaint; they just spray painted over the existing paint. On the porch they were to fill cracks and skim coat the entire porch mixing cement with a texture to match the sandstone color. They filled cracks making small uneven hills. They were to plaster the inside garage ceiling, they used an inferior substance/material causing major discoloration on the ceiling. They were to repair the lentil by pulling it out, cleaning the inside, use a hydraulic cement, they stuffed 2x4’s attached by screws and dressed it up with aluminum. They knocked off about 2’ of my chimney and said they repointed. Two different contractors came and looked and said it was nothing less than a butcher job. One contractor suggested the entire chimney be rebuilt. When the contractor came and gave his estimate I did ask was his skill people tradesmen’s, he replied yes, when he does he concrete/mortar work he brings guys that belongs to the “unions”. I have spoken to the contractor on eight different occasions in which he has promised either he was on his way / coming tomorrow or be there within the next hour. I have taken off work to meet him, left work to greet him on every occasion he never has shown up. This contractor has been paid in full.Desired Settlement: Refund to pay the new contractors to complete and repair the damages caused by Hollis Contracting.

Review: on 4/28/2015 repairs were done to my home, But after they left and I and others looked at house and said it was not done according to industry standards. I sent emails and called stating that I want a refund so I can have it done right. The joints were not all ground out and it looks like a kid did it. The awnings were to be cleaned and then painted but no cleaning and they painted in the rain. There are many runs and paint is coming off in spots. If any of if was done right then I would have had them come back and redo spots paid 3,000 for this job but to redo the job will be a lot more

1500 for house 1275 for wall and 2500 to 26oo to replace as I was told by painting company it would be less to replace them.Desired Settlement: I would like refund and the additional money to have job done

Do not use!!!!!!!!! Definite fraudulent business practices.
