This member signed an month contract on March 9th, On March 17th she came into
the gym and stated that she wanted to cancel the membership and wanted a full refundThe owner was present and looked up this members information and saw that she was under contract until September He explained to her that he was not able to cancel the membership until the contract term was completed, or the balance of the contract was paid in fullShe then sent an email requesting cancellation and I reminded her that she had already spoken to the owner and we were not able to cancel her membership at this timeI referred her to the terms of her signed contract and advised her that we would abide by the terms of her contractThis members statement in one of the two complaints she filed with your organization states that she requested cancellation on March 12thThis is absolutely false, as this member scanned in and used the facilities on March 13th, March 14th and March 16thThe first time she contacted us about her desire to cancel the membership was on March 17th, which was well past the day cancellation period provided by state lawPlease understand that our company offers a variety of membership optionsThese are all available to view on our website and every potential member is presented with these options so they may choose the best option for their situationWe offer an month contract, a month contract and a Month-to-Month (no contract) membershipThis member chose the month option and we expect her to fulfill her contractual obligation to us, just as we will fulfill our contractual obligation to her in providing a 24-hour access fitness facility for her useThank you for your inquiryHollywood Fitness Member Services

Review: I recently became a member of Hollywood Fitness gym in downtown Ventura CA. Quickly realizing that I no longer wanted the membership for many reasons. I had called over the phone to make my cancelation, (still being within my 5 day cancelation time period) & they told me I could cancel. When I arrived they said they couldn't help me. They gave me Jills email & said she handles all the cancelations, but would not give me a phone number to reach her at. Taking her three days to respond to my emails just to read that there not going to cancel my membership & continue to charge me monthly. She stop responding to my emails, & no one there will help me. I would like you guys to please investigate my situation. I'm not the only one dealing with this situation from them. They are breaking there contract rules & I want nothing more but for my membership to be canceled and my full refund back.Desired Settlement: I had paid a total of $90 to start up. I want my full $90 back, as well as to stop charging me $30 monthly.

He explained to her that he was not able to cancel the membership until the contract term was completed, or the balance of the contract was paid in full. Review: My trainer was fired earlier this month and I was not notified until after I showed up for my appointment and she wasn't there, I later called the gym to see what happened because there were no employees there at the time and they told me she had been fired the last week. I left my number for [redacted], the owner and he never called me back so I emailed him and told him I did not want to continue my contract because I did not want to be trained by a different trainer, he skirted the issue so I emailed back and told him again what I wanted. I did not get an email back from him and later this month I was charged another $258 dollars for training I am not receiving, I emailed him to get a refund, he did not email me back again, so I emailed again and he once again danced around the issue. He said he and trainers have tried to get a hold of me and couldn't reach me which is a blatant lie- I've had no missed calls from unknown numbers, nor voice messages ( I've given my number to an associate once, emailed it to him twice, and I know for a fact they have had my number on file cause they have called me before) it's hard enough to get him to email back. I am very frustrated with his "professional bussiness" practices.Desired Settlement: Pay me back my second $258 payment, and stop charging me for services I haven't received.
