I entered the business on Saturday Jan. 10th at approximately 1:45 p.m. requesting shellac nail services. I paid $18 for the services. I asked[redacted] why my hands had to be under the light solong for over 5 mminutes per hand when that is not the customary time I have had to wait for a better outcome for nails to last longer. Later that night as I was washing dishes which I always do my middle and thumb nail polish on right hand begin peeling. I noticed other nail polish on left hand was also peeling. I called the business on Sunday but it is closed and I could not leave a message. On Monday January 12th at 10:30 a.m. I again entered the business and showed Mr.[redacted] his work and asked if I could get refund for my services not being not correctly. He said no he would redo his work. I called police and they recommended I file a formal complaint in an attempt to get my money back. Mr. [redacted] told police I did not wait long enough but the same services I get at other salons does not require my hands set under the lights no longer than two minutes and the product lasts up to two weeks without peeling. I request a full refund.Product_Or_Service: shellac nailsDesired SettlementFull refundBusiness Response To whom it may concern,To address Ms.[redacted]'s complaint, first and foremost, the policy of Hollywood Nails & Spa is that while we here do not offer refunds for services that have been rendered, we are more than happy to re-do any service so that the customer is satisfied. This customer satisfaction is what led to Ms.[redacted]'s rushed job in the first place. Every salon operates differently. The whole time that Ms.[redacted] was having her nails done, she kept asking for me to speed up and rush me. While I insisted that it was important to go through certain steps and wait a certain amount of time in order for everything to set, she insisted on rushing me. She did not allow for things to dry or set the way that they are suppose to which would lead to cracking and peeling. She insisted that it was faster at other salons but again, it is different everywhere. At the time that Ms.[redacted] came to the place of business to complain, there were many customers and it was extremely busy. Rather than wait for me, [redacted], to address her she came immediately to my station disrupting the flow of service to others that were there. Ms.[redacted] immediately began to complain loudly and did not give me a chance to explain our policy before calling the police when I said there would be no refund. Not only that but while she was waiting for the police to arrive, she stood outside and said something to each customer that walked up successfully driving away business. I have proof of this on security cameras that are set up. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I request that the business present the video of my initial visit on Jan. 10th to show the quality of service I received and you will determine whether I was at fault or the quality of service was poor since they have the video of me informing a customer of possible consequences should they patronize the business. I would want the same opportunity if I knew someone had shoddy business practices and don't want to make it right. I contacted police to avoid conflict and receive a legal name of the service attendant and owner who is [redacted].
