On Monday, July 24, our tech was dispatched to *** *** *** *** ** ***, on a call for a gas leak. Due to our schedule being full for the day an approval for our afterhour’s service call charge of $had been approved. Prior to our arrival a tech from *** *** had
the gas shut off earlier in the day. Our tech inspected the furnace and the water heater and performed a soap bubble leak search, he did not smell or see any natural gas leaks initially. The tech asked the tenant if she had been experiencing any headaches or nausea. The tenant states that she had been to the doctor due to weakness, headaches, and had been placed on a nebulizer. The tech noticed that the water heater was older and appeared to have been neglected for some time due to the amount of dust accumulated on the combustion air vents near the base if the water heater and the surrounding area. After lighting the water heater it was apparent that the appliance was spilling flue gas directly into the living space. At that time the tech obtained his combustion analyzer to test for carbon monoxide gas. The meter rapidly climbed to over parts per million which is well over levels that are considered deadly. At this time our tech’s primary concern was for the health and safety of the tenant. He shut off the water heater and decided to check the vent from in the attic and on the roof. He found that the vent was in poor condition. He noticed also that the water heater was in a pan and that the pan had never been connected the drain as per code requirement. The tech also checked again for natural gas leaks with his gas sniffer device and found a small leak on the water heater gas control. He also observed that combustion air for the furnace and water heater was being obtained from the attic which could have its air vents blocked from snow loadsThe tech calculated a price to replace the water heater, install a drain for the pan, replace the flue, and correct the combustion air issue. The tech placed a phone call to the landlord to explain the situation and offer options to resolve the issues at the property. The tech was not able to get a hold of the landlord for authorization of any work at the property. The tech left the water heater off, explained to the tenant that she would not have any hot water and the appliance was not safe to use. On the following day the landlord would not authorize our company to do any work at the property and asked for an amount that he owed for the previous days workOur plan was to combine the after hours work with the rest of the work which was needed to meet codes and provide for the property and tenant to have reliable and safe hot water. Due to fact that the landlord laughed and hung up on our tech when he told the landlord that he was to be charged over $for the initial service call and also hung up on our companies service manager when he called and was speaking with the landlord about the issue, we decided to bill out the landlord for the amount of $638.00. It was also determined that the property had a carbon monoxide detector that had expired and was not functioning. Our dispatcher did receive authorization for our afterhour’s service call fee of $119.00. We will adjust this customer’s bill to $

Thank you for contacting me regarding this matterThe complaint that has been filed against my business is mostly exaggerated and falsePlease allow me a few minutes to clarify this misunderstandingThe sisters visited my salon on 2/to get their nails doneThey were treated with the utmost
respect from my employee and IThey wanted long fake nails and we accommodated their desiresHowever, long nails are extremely brittleThe girls returned with their mother on 2/with a minor chip on one nail and some chipped paintThe mother made a big commotion so offered to repair their nails for freeI repaired it for free not because I was at fault but because I didn't want the mother to continue to make a disruption in my shopNails are fragile and they require a lot of maintenance and careA lot of things can happen in a day, let alone a few days if they are not carefulNonethelessI made sure her daughters were completely satisfied before they leftI am confident the girls were happy with my salon, as they were recently both here (02/25)When they were here (2/25)I asked them about the complaint that was lodged against my shopThey both stated that they knew nothing about the complaint and that they were completely satisfied with our servicesThey also verified that they came back for repairs on the 19th, not the next dayDespite how the girls feel about my performance, the mother visited my store again on 02/She caused another uproar, screaming and yelling and demanding her money backI was so disgusted with the way she was behaving that I quickly refunded her what she asked for, thirty-three dollarsAgain, thank you for making this complaint known to meI thank you for your timePlease feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concernsBest, Trang Tran Owner

To whom this concerns:
Hollywood Nails has received a notice from the Revdex.com regarding a
complaint from ***On September 2nd, 2015, *** and her daughter came in for a French gel manicure and an acrylic full set, respectively*** had come in before for manicure and was satisfied by her service, she brought along her daughter this time
Now the policy practiced in our business is that we ask and check twice to confirm service before continuing as to avoid any mishaps and misunderstandingsThe acrylic was done by Andrea and the Gel manicure is done by KimSide note: Gel manicure is a polish that is applied in the natural nail and then cured under usually a UV light and last 2-weeksAcrylic is a nail enhancement comprised of a powder with a liquid polymerGel polish compared to Acrylics is far less damaging to the nail bed and Kim highly recommended *** to having this service to grow out her nailsOur business has been open for years, been voted as the reader's choice for best manicure and polishes we use specifically are from CND, Gelish and Essie
After the service was completed, a total of minutes, *** decided to change her mind to have her nails look like her daughter, pink polish*** had mentioned that her work involves a lot of typing so Kim informed *** to type with the fingerpad but NOT the nail to decrease chipping and prolong the life of the manicureWe refused as the service was already completed and had she wanted a different service she should have said so earlier, before the service beganKim suggested that she keep the gel nails and let them grow out so she'd have longer nails to paint withBoth mother and daughter left satisfied
After almost weeks, *** comes back with chips at the nail tips demanding her money back or a full setUpon further inspection the chips were from her picking at itAccording to company policy, there are no cash refunds for services however any service that is unsatisfactory can be redone free of charge within hours of the original serviceThe policy is posted publicly on our wallsIn her case, she had far exceeded the acceptable timeline to repair her service for any form of compensationFull set was not an optionHowever, Kim re did the French gel manicure, this time with double top coat to extend the life of the manicure, free of chargeThe daughter didn't come with her demanding for a redo service*** was asked if she was satisfied with the service and she said yesWe were surprised to say the least, when we receive the notice in the mail
Aside from that the clients demand for resolution is misplacedThe total cost of her service for 9/2/was dollars, for the acrylic and for the french gel manicure (discounted price for first time service on behalf of Kim)The client is demanding for dollars in refund, dollars above the cost of the service
The policy was created about years ago, due to similar instances like this oneThere are customers that make money that go from shop to shop demanding money back for disatisfactory services and demanding a refund that is more than what the service costsIf we followed suit to the complaint's request for every customer who did this, we wouldn't have any money to pay for taxes and rentAs a business, we do not owe *** any such refund as the policy was posted in plain sight and she was aware of the services to which she agreed

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

For this complaint, there were two customers for this, a daughter and a mother. The daughter cost $33 and the mother cost $30. They were paying together so $63 + 7.25% tax = $67.66. We did not overcharge the mother and daughter.
