The following statement is in response to Mr [redacted] allegations regarding our repair history to his Jeep LibertyWe would like to work with the customer and solve this amicably for both partiesI understand it can be difficult dealing with car problems and look forward to being of helpThe important question is what caused the issue and how long it was driven or ignored showing no prudent judgement and neglect beyond our control thus voiding warrantyPlease see attached chain of events documented with pictures, invoices and diagnostic evidence(See attached Word document for entire response). In summary, because the head gasket failure was not due to the integrity of the engine but in fact caused by the disregard to instrumentation warnings (cooling part failure replaced elsewhere see invoices) and proper maintenanceWe documented the cooling fans stopped and engine light came on 1,miles before engine overheated (see attached proof and independent diagnostic.)Prudent judgement was not used by the driver of the vehicle and repeated neglect has been documented and summarizedI am willing to replace the engine for no profit to me but I am not willing to pay for someone‘s carelessness, loss or damage to vehicle for any cause which we do not have control over (as our warranty states on the bottom invoice)We do not accept responsibility for the replacement of the engineMr [redacted] has declined each of our offers to an amicable agreement ($for engine replacement more than half original cost)We understand his frustrationWe also understand he is not the primary driver of the vehicle and cannot control the maintenance on it while his daughter is driving in FlagstaffTo contend that we are responsible for it is incredibly incorrectMr [redacted] also has a customer copy of our invoice that clearly states “We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicle beyond Buddy’s Alignment control.” Respectfully Submitted, Brian TB***, Buddy’s Auto

unfortunately that single sentence does not excuse their accountability with regards to the warrantee it clearly states 12,miles, and I guess one could easily state that every situation is outside of buddies control given that generally speaking when a car breaks down the repair facility is reactive their warrantee has a simple statement that says the for 12,miles without any kind of disclaimers regarding how a vehicle was driven etc., their attempt to excuse themselves from warranting this vehicle will be challenged in court if this is not resolved in short orderFurthermore if buddys alignment doesn't want to warranty engines that they sell and install, then simply state no warranty on their invoicing To warrantee their workmanship and parts and then find a way to not honor it is simply not good business and I will challenge it

We have never in + years of business had an issue with our warranty on engines or other parts installedCommon sense was not used in this situation, the engine cannot be driven overheating for miles as documented on the vehicle computer and not expect any issuesIt was not minutes or hours driving down from Flagstaff as the customer claimed that caused the issueIt was the miles overheating, cooling gauge in the red and engine light on indicating to pull over that was ignored which caused the failureWe stand by our warranty and have proven neglect, carelessness and a lack of maintenanceThe fact the cooling fans failed and was documented as replaced elsewhere (see documents) is what caused the engine issuesWe have proof and stand behind itWe also understand the customer’s frustration but he is taking it out on the wrong shop/personThe driver of the vehicle (his daughter) and other shop are responsible for the ultimate failureAs our engine supplier indicated after inspection this is not a warrantable engineWe used proven facts, pictures and invoice evidence to come to our conclusion

important question is what caused the issue and how long it was driven or ignored showing no prudent judgement and neglect beyond our control thus voiding warranty. Please see attached chain of events documented with pictures, invoices and diagnostic evidence. (See attached Word document for entire response). In summary, because the head gasket failure was not due to the integrity of the engine but in fact caused by the disregard to instrumentation warnings (cooling part failure replaced elsewhere see invoices) and proper maintenance. We documented the cooling fans stopped and engine light came on 1,079 miles before engine overheated (see attached proof and independent diagnostic.)Prudent judgement was not used by the driver of the vehicle and repeated neglect has been documented and summarized. I am willing to replace the engine for no profit to me but I am not willing to pay for someone‘s carelessness, loss or damage to vehicle for any cause which we do not have control over (as our warranty states on the bottom invoice). We do not accept responsibility for the replacement of the engine. Mr. [redacted] has declined each of our offers to an amicable agreement ($2000 for engine replacement more than half original cost). We understand his frustration. We also understand he is not the primary driver of the vehicle and cannot control the maintenance on it while his daughter is driving in Flagstaff. To contend that we are responsible for it is incredibly incorrect. Mr. [redacted] also has a customer copy of our invoice that clearly states “We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicle beyond Buddy’s Alignment control.” Respectfully Submitted, Brian T. unfortunately that single sentence does not excuse their  accountability with regards to the warrantee it clearly states 12,000 miles, and I guess one could easily state  that every situation is outside of buddies control given that generally speaking when a car breaks down the repair facility is reactive    their warrantee has a simple statement that says the 20 for 12,000 miles without any kind of disclaimers regarding how a vehicle was driven etc., their attempt to excuse themselves from warranting this vehicle will be challenged in court if this is not resolved in  short order. Furthermore if buddys alignment doesn't want to warranty engines that they sell and install, then simply state no warranty on their invoicing.  To warrantee their workmanship and parts and then find a way to not honor it is simply not good business and I will challenge it
