Review: This complaint concerns advertising, Customer Service, Product, Refund, and guarantee issues. Hollywood South Productions fraudulently sold me gift cards valued at $300 for $150 when the cards were supposed to be given away for FREE. If you look at their website, they are not a charity. However, they go around to businesses asking for something to be donated to giveaway in a goodie bag. The extra items left over from a party are supposed to be returned to the business, but [redacted] sells items about this time of year via an email. I responded to one of these emails thinking I was getting a good deal. Much to my surprise, when I arrived at the business, the Director of Public Relations and the owner of the business both told me that I should not have paid for the cards. I asked [redacted] for my money back, but she says it's her word versus their word from the business. Sadly, I'm out $150 as the cards could not be used (1) in combination or (2) for items on sale -- both of which [redacted] said would not be a problem. There is an email circulating now as of Dec 21, 2013. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS LIST AS ALL OF THE ITEMS COST NOTHING TO SUSAN. She's trying to make money for herself at the benefit of charitable businesses.Desired Settlement: I would like my $150 back for fraudulent claims that the cards were to be given away FREE OF CHARGE. I have asked the manager and the Director of Public Relations if they would be willing to write notarized letters stating what I have written here and they both agreed.

Response to Customer's Review:
[redacted] purchased 3 certificates thru an online auction of items left over
from a previous silent auction or sponsor donation. Sponsors donate to receive
promotion and PR for their businesses which gives us the opportunity to raise money
to cover event expenses that are not donated as well as raise money for the charity
that is the beneficiary. All sponsors. including the certificates that Ms. [redacted]
purchased are given with the clear understanding that the request was for use
in several categories: a party favor for ticket purchasers, auction item, or volunteer
gifts etc. It is my job to ensure the financial success of each event which includes
doing an online auction after the event. Ms. [redacted] also indicated in her complaint
that she could not use them together. There was no such restriction included on any
of the cards she purchased.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The Manager and the PR Director both said that the certificates were to be given away. They were never to be sold. I should not have paid for the 3 certificates. I am able to get their comments notarized if necessary. Also, the 3 certificates could not be used at the same time. I am able to get this statement notarized as well.
I am expecting a $150 refund for the certificates.
