Holmen Auto Service Reviews (1)

In response to Mr [redacted] 's allegations I would like to share some background information about our business as point out? the inaccuracies of his information.? We provide a service for City Safe LLC, of Minnesota, which is a business that leases and provides support for ignition interlock systems.? These systems are required for clients that have had an alcohol related traffic citation and have been ordered by the court to have this interlock system installed in their cars as an additional precaution against driving under the influence.? City Safe contracts with Holmen Auto Service to install these units.? They make their selections about who they contract with based off of a rigid set of criteria that need to be met.? In addition, there is extensive ongoing training that occurs.? We are also regularly? inspected by the State of Minnesota which includes our policies and procedures, installation practices, ongoing training, etc.? Below, I will list out areas of the complaint that were inaccurate Mr [redacted] did not hire us.? Again, we are merely the installer.? MrG contracted with City Safe.? In doing so, he signed numerous documents that stated that he was hiring City Safe, and that he was releasing City Safe and the installer from any liability if the vehicle does not accept the system.? Another form stated that he would be responsible for the equipment that was being leasedMrG stated that Holmen Auto Service soldered a wire to the traction control (ESP) module.? This is not accurate.? There are three steps in order to install the interlock system.? The first is to disconnect the power supply to the vehicle by disconnecting the battery, for the safety of the installer.? Next the interlock unit has to be connected to the fuse box for a power supply.? Then the unit needs to be grounded.? This is done by hooking a wire to one of the vehicles many grounding terminals.? Lastly, the starter wire needs to be interruptedThis is the only wire that is cut and soldered.? At no point was the ESP wire soldered to something else.? The ESP module was not touched during the install process, and is not located anywhere near the site of the installationOnce the unit was installed, Mr [redacted] called to say he went to the DMV and was told that even with the interlock system, he would not be able to drive for a very long time.? He requested that the interlock system was removed.? The battery had to be disconnected again and the system was removedWhen the power source (battery) was reconnected for a second time, it was discovered that the ESP module was not functioning.? At that point I needed to test the wire that leads to the ESP ;module to ensure that it was receiving power and determined that it wasThat is the only time the ESP was touched and again, nothing was soldered to the wireThe Maplewood Mercedes dealership agreed with our diagnosis.? They conducted the same test to determine that power was reaching the ESP module, but the module would not work.? This was learned in a conversation that I and Steve, who is a representative from City Safe had with the Mercedes dealershipMr [redacted] is not understanding the summary that the Mercedes dealership provided him.? I have requested a copy of the information he was provided by Mercedes, in the effort to help him understand what occurred, but he was not willing to provide a copy of the information.? ? We offered to bring the car to another one of City Safe's installation shops that specializes in import vehicles, however Mr [redacted] 's father refused and stated that they will only take all three of their Mercedes to the Maplewood Mercedes dealershipAlso, I think it is important to note that Mr [redacted] 's car is a and has over 300,miles on it.? Unfortunately, the part that failed was an electrical module that functioned for far longer than the life expectancy of a car.? It is very similar to unplugging a lamp, and plugging it back in and the light bulb no longer works.? The person that plugged the lamp in isn't personally responsible for the light bulb going outAs a reminder, Mr [redacted] hired and contracted with City Safe.? Payment was made to City Safe and not to? Holmen Auto Service.? Mr [redacted] signed waiver's releasing City Safe as well as the installer from all liability In closing, I would like to acknowledge that it is an unfortunate thing to happen and also we understand the frustration that it causes the vehicle owner.? However, it was not caused by negligence on our end.? We installed the part correctly, and removed the part correctly.? The installation process was followed step by step as laid out by the manufacturer.? We have installed hundreds of these units without issue.? We are a small family business with an impeccable history up until this point.? We have built a very large client base in the last years that are loyal to us because we have worked hard to earn their trust.? This has been a very difficult time for us, as we are watching Mr [redacted] slander our business all over the internet in a manner that has become harassing.?
