I am not satisfied with Tom Holmes reply to my complaintHe tells me to repair it myselfA brush off For cracks to appear in sidewalks after only months is unbelievable for two reasons:
The original concrete lasted over years without cracks
Other contractors installed concrete work on this street and their work has no cracks at all
Holmes knows that a customer would have to pay an engineer to prove that the subsurface was not prepared properly and most customers will not do thatTo think that you can lay concrete and not be responsible for the quality of the work is incomprehensible in this day and ageI certainly would not do business with this contractor again.

It would seem that the concrete industry/contractors are not responsible for the quality of their workIt is the only industry I know of that can get away with that So a consumer has no recourse for unsatisfactory workThey know it is cost prohibitive for an individual to hire an attorney to sue and they take advantage of that factWhat consumer would want new concrete laid if there was no expectation that there would be no cracks in it after only months I had cracks in my concrete before and that was the reason I wanted new concreteI have cracks in my concrete nowThere was a one year guarantee for workmanship but Holmes refuses to honor that.

Mr. [redacted] had a drive, approach porch slab and township walk replaced, the township walk was done under permit and inspected, the walk has a hairline crack. We do not guarantee against cracking, all concrete is going to crack, we cut control joints per township specs to give it a place to...

We will not be doing any replacement do to cracking of concrete, we have suggested using a sealant if the crack opens up.
