Review: Recently I received a postcard from Holsted Jewelers about taking advantage of an offer stated in the postcard for two free rings and all I have to pay is shipping and handling for a Genuine Blue Topaz Cubic Zirconia ring and Genuine White Topaz Diamond Accent ring. I called on October [redacted] to place my order and they said it will be two to three weeks before I will receive my items. Also, they offered me a necklace where I only paid $1.95 for shipping. I have not received my two rings I ordered which were sent out on October [redacted] but my necklace was sent out after the two rings. I received the necklace on November * but still no rings yet. I called on November [redacted] and told them I have not received my rings yet. Every time I call to check on my order they always try to sell me other items which I do not feel the need to since I have not got what I paid for. I paid $6.99 two times for two rings. I canceled my account and told them I have received jewelry from The west coast and got it in 2-4 days that I did not see a point in waiting two to three weeks for jewelry and their prices are unreasonable. I do not understand how I received the necklace before my rings. They offered me several other offers over the phone from other companies which I found unprofessional and my debit card had to get replaced by Bank Of America because my information got sent to an unauthorized merchant and they thought I had fraud on my account because I have fraud protection on my account. I just hope my debit card does not get unwanted/unnecessary charges and hidden ones later down the road. I called Holsted Jewelers on Friday November *,2013 and informed them that I still have not received my rings yet. They claim they will refund my money for both charges of $6.99 each then they offered me to pay again for both rings which I rejected. If I could trust that I would receive my rings then I would buy again. Also, I was told that it takes two to three weeks again or less than that. I do not know what happened but I am disappointed and was looking forward to my jewelry. Instead of refunding me why can not I just received a replacement of the two rings.

Product_Or_Service: White Topaz and Blue Topaz Cubic Zarconia ring

Order_Number: [redacted] and [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like either a refund or send out a replacement for my two rings which I paid for. If I could trust that I will receive them then I would buy again.

Response:

Dear Miss Spencer,

This is in response to your letter dated 11/**/13. Before addressing your specific complaint, we would like to bring the following facts to your attention.

Holsted Marketing (doing business as Holsted Jewelers) has been in business for over 40 years, serving millions of satisfied customers. We fully disclose all terms of the program prior to placing a Holsted Jewelers order. Orders are placed either with a written order form in which terms are clearly stated above the customer’s signature acknowledging and accepting these terms, or are called in to a toll-free number , and in which all terms are clearly stated to the customer prior to the customer accepting the offer.

With the first shipment, and each subsequent shipment thereafter, you received a letter from us which completely restated the terms of the program and includes the statement: “If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 30 days for a replacement or credit refund of the merchandise price”. As is the case with virtually all mail and telephone order companies, Holsted readily refunds the merchandise cost to the consumers, and when customers request it, we also refund all of the shipping and handling charges associated with their order. We provide a Customer Service Card in every shipment that includes a pre-printed return label, and a cancellation notification to stop all future shipments. Our phone number is provided on your credit card statements so that our customer service representatives can readily help with a question regarding any charge on your statement.

We trust the above reassures you that Holsted Jewelers makes every effort to service and satisfy our customers. Regarding the complaint you sent us, our records show the following:

There was an order made for a free promotional Genuine Blue Topaz ring and White Topaz & Diamond ring ($6.99 shipping and handling each) placed over the phone with one of our representatives, and received on 10/**/13. On the phone call, the representative is required to read the terms and conditions of the jewelry collection program, which includes an additional item of the collection at full price ($56.98 each), shipped out every 4-6 weeks after the initial piece; for the duration of the program or until the customer cancels from the service.

We received several calls from you to our Customer Service Department in October and November saying you have not received the free rings. You have provided a new credit card on 10/**/13. Our records indicate that the two ring were shipped to your address on file on 10/**/13 while the Genuine diamond Heart Pendant ($1.99) was shipped to the same address on 10/**/13. The two original charges of $6.99 for the shipping and handling of the two free rings show as credited on our end on 11/**/13. On one of the calls, the Agent explained that we will credit you back the original charges to the credit card account they were charged on and re-bill your account for the shipping and handling of the replacements. For some reason, we didn’t get an approval from your bank for the two new $6.99 charges.

As of today, 11/**/13, there will be no further items or bills sent out to your address per your request, and because of the inconvenience, we will be sending you the two free rings with our compliments. You have also been refunded for all the charges made by Holsted Jewelers since October 2013. These credits reflect the two original charges of $6.99 and one charge of $1.99.

We trust you will find the above information satisfactory, and if you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Holsted Marketing, Inc.

I recently purchased a ring & neclace on line from Holsted Jewelers. At no time was there any mention that this was a monthly arrangement and my account would be automatically charged. twice in the last week I have had charges on my account. Of course, no one answers the phone and the e-mail is undeliverable.

BEWARE!!!! with holsted jewelers. I got the free jewelry and called within 5 days to cancel the auto ship.Lady on the phone said it was taken care of. I then got two e-mails on the same day after the phone call, and they had charged my [redacted] 119.98 for more jewelry. I have yet to receive the jewelry. I called again and was very very angry. They have told me now that my [redacted] is refunded, and to wait 3to5 days. We will see if this is true. Also I have never received anything to fill out for the gift card. Sure I never will.Holsted Jewelers are a scam in my eyes

I received a letter in the mail to receive 1 or 2 free quality rings

from Holsted Jewelers today in the mail. There was also a scratch off card

in there for a $25 Walmart Gift Card, that they'd gift me if I purchased

their "free" ring(s) just for the cost of shipping. The woman was certainly

in a call center - very loud in the background and UNLIKE a jewelry store.

I started the call by asking her to tell me why I received such card. She

told me I could not get that info unless I gave her my FREE Gift Code.

Since that doesn't make sense at all to me I asked why and she said she

couldn't. I asked her what kind of scam she was trying to pull and she

said, "This is no scam. we have a website and have been here since 1971." I

told that is irrelevant especially since when I type in the jewelry store

name, which apparently is in Joliet - and I have NEVER heard of, into

Google more scam reviews sites come up than their actual sites/social media

accounts.

Top 3 Scam Review Sites that came up for me:

-

She told me that she could not help me unless "I shut up and listened" -

because I was telling her about my findings online and telling her that I

don't want to be charged the amount of the jewelry AFTER I was told it was

a one time fee of $3.99 for SHIPPING ONLY, like others have said happened

to them.

She continued to say, "If you will shut up I will be able to help you

order."

Again, I said, I am not ordering until I know the terms and conditions. She

said, "Shut up and I can tell you."

She told me I had to commit to ordering before I was able to learn the

terms and conditions which is totally not ok with me. She then said, "Well,

thanks for keeping your mouth shut so I can hang up because you will not

cooperate."

Review: I have repeatedly called them after having unauthorized charges pop up on my credit card. I have received just this month October 2015 two charges equaling 109.96 respectively. I have had to have new credit card numbers issued because of these unauthorized charges.Desired Settlement: I want these charges removed and I want them to no longer be able to charge me or contact me in any way, phone, mail or email.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

They don't refund your money. They make it seem like you get a free ring with no strings attached and make the fine print as unnoticeable as they possibly can get away with. Very dishonest company and bad customer service. They definitely don't act like people. What a shame.

Review: Several months ago I received a coupon for free rings and all I had to pay was shipping. I am an 83 year old woman and had no idea that Holsted Jewelers would start shipping me jewelry I do not WANT or NEED. Each time I received a package from them, they charged my credit card $56.98. In June alone, I was charged 5 times for jewelry. Each time I received the jewelry, I wrote on the envelope REFUSED-RETURN TO SENDER. Each time, my credit card was credited $49.99 instead of the full $56.98. They made me pay shipping for something I did not order and did not want. I contacted the company upon receiving the first envelop and told them I did not want to receive anything else from them. However, they ignored my request and continued to send these items. Every single time, they are scamming me $6.99 for shipping for something I did not order. I sent them a complaint via email on 7/**/2013. It's been 10 days and I still have not heard a word from them. When I went to the Revdex.com site, I was shocked to see that you have accredited this crooked company who constantly takes advantage of the elderly by scamming them. All you have to do is search for "scam" and "Holsted" and you will see numerous stories just like mine. I live on Social Security and only receive $1,400 a month. I am barely able to pay my bills and certainly can't afford things like this. Last week, I had to cancel my credit card just to stop these unwarranted charges. I was shocked when I went to your website and saw the Follwing: A Revdex.com Accredited Business since 10/**/2008 Revdex.com has determined that Holsted Jewelers, Inc. meets Revdex.com accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. Revdex.com Accredited Businesses pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of Revdex.com services to the public.Desired Settlement: Since you have accredited them, I'm asking your help in getting them to refund me every penny of the shipping charges that they have charged to my account. They cannot refund my credit card since I was forced to cancel it because of them. They will have to send me a check. My address is as follows: [redacted]

Review: Company sent a free jewelry gift. Afterwards sent more jewelry that was of inferior quality and I was allergic to. I called them & asked them to not send anymore jewelry. I asked if they wanted me to send back item. They said no. They continued sending products and I learned charged my account in excess for $270.00. This was after the second call to them. Called back was told to return items. I sent via certified mail at my expense. My Catherine's Credit representatives only state it is in dispute and may take 60 days or more and do not guarantee me positive results. Holsted Jewelers verbally told me today 9/**/13 via phone that they have refunded my account. I desire to see my card clear of these charges and would like your help in resolving this matter.Desired Settlement: Clear my account of all unauthorized charges. Send me no more invitations.

We received a call from you to our Customer Service Department on 09/**/13 saying you received merchandise in the mail aside from the free items and said you believe you called before to let us know that you don’t want to receive further shipments. You also asked the representative if we are Catherine’s or the jewelry store, the representative said we are the latter. You mentioned that you will return the shipments but don’t want to pay for postage. The representative advised for you to place both items in one package mark it return to sender. You said that it’s best to send them back insured so you have a proof. You also asked the representative not to send you anything – you were cancelled from the service at that time. You also mentioned on this call that you will be calling Catherine’s.

We received another call from you on 09/**/13 saying you talked to us Friday, 09/**/13 and informed the representative not to send you anymore items but you received more packages and you were charged on your account. The representative informed you that you just have to mail them back to us for refund; all further shipments have been cancelled when you called to cancel on 09/**/13 and that the last two jewelry shipments went out 08/**/13. On this call, you told the representative you have called prior to 09/**/13 to tell us not to send you anymore items. You mentioned that you don’t want to pay for sending them back and the representative advised for you to return them to sender and provided our return address. You mentioned you want a proof that you have returned the items to us so you can get your refund. You asked when the free rings were shipped - the representative said 07/**/13 and you said you called before 09/**/13 saying the earrings irritated you and that you were informed you need not do anything as those items are for free. The representative informed you that the rings were the free items and since your collections have been cancelled, there will be no further shipments after 08/**/13 and that credits will be issued back to your account as soon as we have the items back. We have no records showing any other phone calls to us except for the calls made on 06/**/13 when free ring order was placed, 09/**/13 and 09/**/13 when you spoke with our Customer Service representatives.

We also received phone calls from you on 09/**/13 and 09/**/13 wherein you were informed by both representatives that four credits of $56.98 each have been put back to your Catherine’s account on 09/**/13. The full credits have been issued even before we received the returned items on 09/**/13. You have also been removed from our mailing lists on 09/**/13.

As of today, 10/**/13, there will be no further items or bills sent out to your address per your request, and because of the inconvenience, you have been credited in full for any charges made by Holsted Jewelers since July 2013. These credits reflect the two original charges of $6.99 and four full price charges of $56.98 making a total credited amount of $241.90.

We trust you will find the above information satisfactory, and if you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Review: This regards The Price Is Right play at home game. One of the "special" offers was from Holsted Jewelers. I called and spoke to a lady who would not let me get a word in. I continually told her that I only wanted the one offer. She would not stop talking. I had to hang up on her. I have tried to contact CBS and the PRICE IS RIGHT with no success. I called Holsted and was told that their representatives have to tell the callers spaciific information. The woman I talked to did no such thing. I had to cancel my credit card. When I talked to Holsted I was told I would have to have the bank accept a refund on the card I canceled. I do not trust the company to actually go through with the refund. Holsted charged my account $56.98 twice. The price of the products was never mentioned. My next action is to the Attorney General of Illinois. If you have any questions please contact me. I do not answer unnamed callers.

I was debited for an item I cancelled. Holsted said I could not have a refund because the item had been shipped. I called Holsted on February *,2016. I have neither received the item or my refund. Today is February **, 2016. All I want is my money of $66.98 credited to my debit card.

Review: I ORDERED 3 FREE ITEMS FROM HOLSTED JEWELERS THE BEGINNING OF MAY 2013 AND PAID $6.99 FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON EACH ITEM. TO DATE, I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED ONE ITEM. THE END OF MAY 2013, THE COMPANY CHARGED ME FOR THREE MORE ITEMS WITH A CHARGE OF $56.98 ON EACH ITEM. I HAVE CONTACTED THE COMPANY ON 5 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. #1, THE INITIAL ITEMS WERE LISTED AS BEING ORDERED ON 5/*/13. I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AT THAT TIME. I CONTACTED TO COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHAT THE THREE CHARGES FOR $6.99 WERE FOR. I WAS TOLD THAT IT TAKES THEM 4-6 WEEKS TO PROCESS ANY MAILED IN ITEM. EVERY TIME I CONTACT THEM, I AM TOLD "THEY WERE SHIPPED OUT [redacted]". I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED ONE OF THE FREE ITEMS THAT I HAVE PAID FOR. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY WOULD RESCHEDULE THE ITEMS TO BE SHIPPED OUT AND IF I DID NOT RECEIVE THEM TO CALL BACK IN 3-4 WEEKS. I WAS TOLD THE THREE CHARGES OF $56.98 WERE FOR SOME KIND OF MONTHLY AUTOMATIC SHIPPING. I TOLD THEM IN EARLY JUNE TO CANCEL ANY AUTOMATIC SHIPMENTS AND LET THEM KNOW THAT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OF THOSE ITEMS. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE SHIPPED OUT JUNE * AND TO CALL BY JUNE [redacted] IF I HADNOT RECEIVED THEM. I CONTACTED THEM TODAY. THERE WAS STILL A RUN AROUND WITH ALL THE ITEMS. I SPONE WITH ONE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT REFUSED TO GIVE HER ID#. SHE SOUNDED AS IF SHE WAS GIVING ME A RUN AROUND SO I ASKED FOR A MANAGER. SHE PUT ME ON HOLD THEN CAME BACK AND SAID THE MANAGER WAS BUSY AND SHE WAS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF HANDLING THE ISSUE. I TOLD HER THAT I WOULD WAIT, THAT I NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER. I WAS CONNECTED TO RAN ID#[redacted]. SHE ASSURED ME THAT ALL ITEMS WOULD BE CANCELLED AND CHARGES REFUNDED TO ALL ITEMS OTHER THAN THE TWO FREE ITEMS I HAVE PAID FOR YET NOT RECEIVED. GUESS I NEED TO WAIT AND SEE IF THIS TRUELY HAPPENS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE FIRST OF MAY.Desired Settlement: I WANT THEM TO QUIT ALL THE RUN AROUND AND JUST CANCEL ALL ITEMS AND REFUND ME FOR THE TWO ITEMS I PAID $6.99 FOR AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has been resolved but I am still unhappy with their response because:

Caution ordering "Free" items from Holsted Jewelers. You pay only shipping/handling and then they automatically subscribe you to a monthly delivery at full charge (which is not obvious at the time of ordering). Also, the phone number provided to cancel is erroneous (it takes some searching to locate correct contact number).

Review: On June **, 2015 I placed an order with them for a free trail of one of their rings, for only shipping of $5.95. Well, later that week I read some really bad reviews on them and there jewelry and such. So I decided to call and cancel, this was only a few short days after, at the most 4 days.

Well yesterday I noticed on my bank statement there were not only one charge, but 6. Starting on July [redacted]. The first one is for $3.95, $1.00, $0.03, $0.03, $0.12, $1.00.

Yes, I understand this is a little over the amount for the shipping cost, but I cancelled within a few days and then 2 weeks later I get hit hard on my account, not expecting these six charges causing my bank account to go in the negative and hit with 6 overdraft fees at $36.00 each. Totally unfair and uncalled for, when I cancelled this order and I never received anything.

I do have pictures of everything, but there is no place for me to upload them.

A very unhappy customerDesired Settlement: I would like the 6 withdrawals put back into my account, also the 6 overdraft fees that it caused at $36.00 a piece.

A total of $218.21, I have proof of all of this, thank you.

Response:

Very disappointed in how Holsted Jewelers does business! They send out promotional post cards for free products, but you are really signing up for a subscription of jewelry each month for $60-$100. On top of that, they tell you the offer also includes a free gift card to [redacted]...but it is all a hassle just to get the card. I had to fill out 2 different forms, 2 different times, and send them in using your own stamps. Then once they send you the promotion code, it takes another 2-4 weeks to get the gift card. It has been 3+ months and I have yet to see a gift card. PEOPLE, if you have paid shipping and handling for the "free item", you must cancel the hidden subscription within 10 days or they will continue to charge your card each month. They also share your contact information, so be prepared to get soliciting calls from several different companies.

Review: My husband ordered a sapphire princess ring from this company on 10/**/2013. I called the same day and canceled the shipment of this product on the same day. They said that the order was cancelled but they can't seemed to find my husband's information in their database but our bank account has been charged already. The product was free just pay shipping and handling of $6.99. We were also charged for a credit report for $1 from them on the same day. I would like to be reimbursed for the money that they took out of my account and I don't want the product sent to me. The charges were made to my husband's debit card.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the $7.99 back

I received a card in the mail for free Jewelry all I am to do was pay shipping and handling with no requirements to purchase anything in the future mind you this was in September. Now skip forward to December and I have a transaction all of the sudden for $56 from Holstead Jewelers . I called the company waited a hour for someone to talk to about this matter only to be told that I had to pay $56 for a pair of earrings I never received. I ask for there supervisor and they said I am speaking to them and refused to allow me to speak w anyone and wouldn't refund my money till I Send back the earrings(the earrings I never received
