If Mr*** was, in fact dissatisfied with the first siding job that was done why would he then contract with us again to do another one just like the first? The fact remains that the contract he signed clearly states that if he delays or cancels the job he is responsible for the entire contract amount. I sent him back half of his deposit and do not feel that I should send more

Ms. [redacted]'s response is not entirely accurate.  The garage job from years ago had problems and was not entirely satisfactory.  The boxes for the outside electrical outlets were not correct and I went to [redacted] to buy the correct ones while the installation was in progress.  The corner pieces were not white as requested and the attempt to correct the color left the corners loose when I had specifically told her not to do anything to compromise the integrity of the installation.  The installation crew knew nothing of the color request and said they simply install whatever has been delivered to the job site. We settled with a 10% discount to compensate for the error.  When the materials for the house were delivered, the siding was the wrong color and had to be returned.  Several weeks went by with no further action.  Ms. [redacted] did tell me she had located a source for the desired color, but gave no commitment on a start or finish of the installation.  There seemed to be continued delays which left us concerned that the installation would not be done before the approaching winter.  I can understand the cost of material restocking, etc. and would not object to paying for this.  I would like an itemized list of cost incurred in connection with this uncompleted contract to know what cost I am paying for.  The entire spring and summer of 2017 went by with continued delays in the job, eroding our confidence that the job would get finished even if started.

We did a siding job for Mr. [redacted] several years ago which is why he asked us to come back and do another.  We did a great job for him the first time and he was very happy although he didn't see the need to write about it to the Revdex.com at the time!  Yes, he is correct in saying that we were...

contracted last year to do the work however, he is the one who asked to wait to do the work when we were ready to start last fall.  This spring was very wet which also caused delays.  I told [redacted] I could do it in September and he was fine with that.  I had all of the materials delivered to his house and when we were about to start he called to say he wanted to cancel his contract.  I had to have the materials returned and pay for restocking fee's.  My contract states that you may cancel within 3 days of signing and if you cancel or delay the project you are responsible for the entire cost of the job.  I refunded half of Mr. [redacted]'s deposit and feel that is more than fair under the circumstances.
